  4. I once invited an albino cracker jaw with big ears and no paws. She in turn had a pitch black melanistic purrsnot, who gave birth to three albinos. One of them in turn had a sickly, melanistic boy with double bearyena claw. The Whims really are something else. Either the whole tribe is infected, or I can't keep the gene.
  5. Everything in Niche was animated fluidly. Nichelings moved following your mouse and there were these small interactions like tail wagging. 2 whole new pattern modifiers, one had 8? options and was called "pattern lenght" despite some also adding colour. (Wtf, brain? Green?). I never got to click on the other. There were also new genes, but I can't quite remember. What's your weirdest Niche related dream?

  9. So it's time for the main pairings to settle down. Except in the central camp. Everybody mates with anyone there. Their children should then be compatible with other groups, as they have a ton of unrelated wanderer blood. I'm hoping for: Heat body/digging/wings -- digging truck x Sparrow Scorpion tail (team red) Poison fangs (bat X spotted male). If that doesn't work, their son only needs to grow up. The island will be conquered in no time! Heat body would be great to grab more frozen genes.
  10. It does get easier once you can kill bearyenas with no effort. My bad luck was that almost every wanderer I met still produced sick children. So I migrated. But still, starting on Deadly Hills isn't too hard and once you have enough strenght/resistance/x, it's the same cycle. Getting your feet on the ground is the most fun, but this challenge can be seriously deadly in that period What could have made it harder, though, is cutting adult lifespans. 25 days instead of 55. 4 children at maximum or something like it. But that would make some islands unplayable. The worst I can imagine is a game mechanic that has the sick child infect nearby nichelings, often enough killing the mother. It's not complete yet, though. I'll try either going to the DeadlyHs over whale island, or going to a harder cold climate. Might just die...

  14. What? Of all the things I expected from that pairing, that's 3450 degrees to the left. That golden crackerjaw must have carried poison fangs. If he's compatible with the fanged wanderer, the gene is saved. She's still a young adult. The one pawed derpsnout finally had a child. She looks completely like mom, but with no scorpion tail. The melanistic baby was the only good one in quite some time for them. They're either sick and die, or have double claws. That bear is getting feisty, too. Hitting him isn't wise in terms of food, but he was creeping toward this one: What a name. The first 'yena child with horns since the settlement was carved out. The scorpions lost their pattern, too. Against all odds, it migrated to the main camp.
  15. Creepy bear being creepy That isn't even the uncle from earlier. The first one decided to stay by my nursury and stare creepily at children, forever. He's not even being paid. I tried to bait him with an old nicheling and a baby. It's still mad. Oh, f*ck off. At least eat the child that's too weak for survival! Why that Queen? Wasn't she way out of reach?? Whatever. Darkowl's three children. Frost has Big Body and runner leg. No decrease or increase in fertility. Echoglow is from Pine. Despite being pregnant 6 times, only two children survived in her very long life. Little Bad and Echoglow. He can't gather, but his fertility is perfect. Then there's this poor soul. Fishing tail. Lean body, no paw. She grew to her second gem, but eventually froze At least Sparrow must be happy. Root heaven. I'm happy too, with the iceblock. If she's compatible with sparrow, there'll be nichelings with 5 digging! Maybe I can even visit some harder mountain. Brightpatch. Big Body again from his Owl dad. Why is there a scorpion? Hunting became impossible on the shores and she almost died. Meanwhile, I'm trying to mass produce scorpions even with the matriarch dead, but they're predictably sick.
  16. Here's more of the main camp. The biggest success was no doubt finding this gem. Look at her! Super cute. We don't have any males with bird beak, though. Just three daughters. Two with nimble fingers Taking these beasts down isn't profitable yet, though. I have an act of evil to admit to. This ugly toad kept stealing my food. So I invited him just for some good poison. That wouldn't be so bad, but I also did it to an helpless stray child with bad genes. I guess this situation is punishment from the Niche gods. Damn you, Flame. Now they just keep knocking at my door. This couple also lost their first child. And I keep pursuing terrible ideas, like breeding three females with Darkowl. Going for that Ice block. If this one is sick too, then... I don't even know
  17. I have a bad feeling about thia guy, Beech. He gets colder more often and has overall bad luck. And... he's an icicle. Damnit These two enjoy their childless friendships while the rogues are away. Speaking of rogues, they keep trying to assault my 'yenas. But I can't protect her yet with Darkowl so young. So instead, I had my male siren call. For the record, I have 21 nichelings, he called on three days and got three wanderers. The first had lean body and not much else, the second was completely crippled, and the last was this baby. Sparrow the anteater has big body and digging paw, so he's welcome To add confusion to all the bird names around, the yena line promply added more. Thanks for the help. That one's from bearyena snout + derpsnout wife Icenettle. When they have beak, I can at least be sure the headgene was passed on. Still, beak helps with the whole, you, know, having giant claws for hands Their camp looks small and peaceful, but there are a lot of berrybushes east. Even three normal ones. Aside from that, I get an bearyena almost everyday and 3/5 children die. On the upside, the new breeding pairs should be compatible These two. Guaranteed collecting ability + horns. Scorpion tail here. Ten million kinda bad children from the old one. Still, they can collect and scorpion tail can't go extinct. So I'm sending them on hunting trips. Better rogue protection.
  18. No sickness yet. At least in the normal camp. The bearyena line has lost all 3 children. This wanderer might be good. Decent cold resistance, nimble fingers. Bad fertility, though. These are all from Darklion. Except the one that looks like him, naturally. The brown spotted male is from Marble. Before Icenettle has her child, this ballsy wanderer is mystically drawn to her mate. Darkowl can't be very smart, but he has Big Body and mask. Vipersong even missed medium body. I bread Pine (bearyena ears) with Salmon in the end. They had a cute little daughter with bat snout. Heatherkestrel could start a hunting line with Darkowl. So, the mainland. Anything new? Their first two children grew up fine. Robinwing and Little Bat followed. The last was from Marble. Derpguy keeps attracting wanderers. As soon as I invite them, the defenders permit murder. Still, someone has to protect the tribe. No one froze yet. Had a few close cases, but no deaths.
  19. There's so. Much. Food. in the mountains. Holly hell, I missed this. I think we might have a mate for Stonebelly. I spot claw and fishing tail! Darklion. Very handsome. There's this guy in the iceblock. Haunting eyes on a short snout. Big Body. Might be an even better mate! Until... I almost feared an ambush. There was a sudden death notifiction, but no predators. Trushdawn was sick. And now there's a murder bear. Great. But also this cute wanderer. The tribe doesn't have nimble fingers, so with Trushdawn dead, she's my only shot. More murder bears And twin deaths. Lean body doesn't add a cold debuff anymore, but she has fishing tail. Silentsilent. Not both of them died... I made the mistake to hunt and now two defenders can't decide on who to hunt, chasing the tribe right, left, and to the right again Better bribe that creepy uncle. Even if he does nothing, he still sits in their way.
  20. The yena family found a rogue with big body + horns. Neat too know, but I'm not that desperate. Yet. Check out their first son! (The last of unkown gender died...). Lean body, but he's really strong. Marble is really beautiful, too. That rogue is just mean, though. Had to mate almost Frostskull with someone. That one paw is from the wanderer. She sadly didn't pass claw, but his cold resistance is good. Unlocked a new gene (bearyena ears). Sadly, lean body on the baby. Again. But they might be carrying something good and I have enough nicheling to cross families. This is goodbye one more time. The update feels short and hurried, but there's just no danger in the swamps. Here, on the other hand... Every missed moment kills. Parings will be Salmon X Greyhorn (the better buff cat daughter) Stonebelly X whoever. And those yenas.
  21. Yay for sleepy reeds! (And crabbits) Since it took forever to move some children, the new matriarch can already have her babies. She at least doesn't share parents with Tunnelbranch. There is an easier swamp port and one to summer mountains. I think summer mountains might be fine, but the average cold resistance is 0. A good first child, Salmon. Both parents have mask, but dad's is almost invinsible. Aha! 2 cold resistance. That's oddly disappointing. While I was dealing with a bearyena, he was eaten. At least Stonebelly is pretty cute. The bat gene survived! And so did that super annoying rogue. Super buff cat had 5 and 6, her only surviving children. Her mate doesn't have scorpion tail, but he's the son of that black, spotted wanderer. This one reminds me of Frostskull. She can gather food for us. It's so cute that babies can already catch bugs. Frostflank is keeping her brother clean and neat.
