  1. As a jungle gene, adding speed in that eviroment would be useful. As it is, you have to clear certain tiles to move a nicheling on them. Velvet paw could forego that, allowing free movement through the underbrush. In Cold Biomes, it could allow you to walk on Snow. 1 tile for one velvet paw, 3 for a full set.
  2. I roll for a number of cats to die, who is more likely to win and which rank the deaths may hit. In the above, Lakeclan would have won, but Hillclan had way more warriors in Camp. So I modified for a costly victory. Heatherstar was very old. She could have lived otherwise, but died in a blaze for her aspirations. The amount of deaths was relative to clan size, had Lakeclan rolled a loss, they would have lost an about equal amount of cats in absolute numbers. Cloudpaw was horribly wounded because she was in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Skysight wanted to be a hero and died protecting the nursery. The Queen was the first cat to be ambushed. Lakeclan was out to steal kittens, not start an open fight. But Heatherstar is reckless and failed a stealth roll. In short, I cheat and go for likelihood, not for the if and how. The console helps to add damage by Bearyena attack. Not sure If you would like that, but it was somewhat necessary for story purposes.
  3. You know that you won‘t live forever when your world is named New Game. However, back to the start. Each chapter will have a different narrator. The clan mourns the passing of their elders. Spring will start today. Sorrelwing may still doubt my abilities as a healer, but I have always been the better scholar. The seasons largely follow a pattern. Hillclan is still without Leader. Lakeclan is aging. I worry that too much young Blood will make them overly ambitious, overly eager to prove their standing. …. Heatherstar, always bellicose, attacked the Camp. We lost a Queen and Skysight. Cloudpaw will never hunt again. I would claim Heatherstar’s death the best for peace. If Lakeclan's new deputy wasn’t just as bad. Bramblestar is sharpening patrols. … Bramblestar was the best choice for leader. Starclan knows he trained half of our warriors. …. I still don’t know what to do with the prisoner. She has healed fully, but the camp is still being reinforced. Hornetclaw will deal with her. Surely, he would rather feed his kittens than a spy. Even if my Sister is too kind to see that. Cloudpaw is not taking her fate well. Bramblestar has still not made her a warrior. I suspect he wishes that I take an apprentice, but this “pupil” is simply too daft. … Ebonystar declared herself Leader. I heard the she-cat killed a Fox on her own. Does Lakeclan have a liking for reckless leaders? The gathering would soon turn awkward. Hornetclaw annouces her spy-pupil killed Cloudpaw. Can one become Leader without having trained an apprentice? … Blizzardpaw is learning well. Though not as pragmatic as her father, she will make a fine Healer one day.
  4. That's understandable. Would you mind if I try my hand at the community ritual and find out where my clans will break?
  5. A) Give it all the power! -- Sneak attacks (The first attack on an enemy that hasn't targeted the nicheling) deal double damage. B) Eh... Maybe make it better at what it already does? -- +2 collecting, +3 stealth. C) Curse stealth! Who knows how it works, anyway? -- Velvet paw allows you to walk on snow and adds extra speed in the jungle. (To its current attributes) You know these tiles that you have to clear first before a nicheling can move on them? Not anymore with Velvet paw. D) All of these option are horrible. Leave the gene alone!
  6. There is a very sad, suspicious lack of "Moon"s in some generators.
  7. My weirdest set by far came in the same batch: It really fools you with the first three into reading that list with serious expectations. Though Fernfern, Goosebird and Big Bush are serious candidates. Moosewater, Owl Fur and Fish Ear make no sense at all, on the othet hand. Dishonorable mentions: Stumpytooth, Cootstar, Wet Mist, Odd/Slow Cloud, Featherlegs, Fishleaf, Alert Fern, Sheeppetal, Boarface, Dustdust.
  8. Very nice ideas. I am currently playing with a made up season system, but I haven't seen suggestions to implement an actual one yet. It would be a rather big update, though. Maybe something like it will make its way into the game one day.
  9. Alternatively, there is the game of "who will roll the murder aspiration?" And that feeling when it is the nicheling you suspected.
  10. That feeling when... Your main line struggles, that one weird guy has perfect children and you, fed up, get ready to leave the island with them. To have a wanderer jump on a crabbit. And some weird pattern haunts the next six generations.
  11. Meanwhile, parts of Austria are flooded and there is no real internet. Spooky indeed.
  12. Lies! Blasphemy! The world was created by his noodly appendage, resting on the holy meatballs of creation.
  13. We've all had that strange looking wanderer. My Warriors Tribe was particularly unlucky in finding a purr snout. So when Ramesi turned up, she didn't just have Rosepelt but two compatible kittens with active purr snout. All from different fathers, due to her rolled aspiration. Rosepelt's only son would be born with the gene, aswell, and found a new clan. I expected infertility, no-paws and herp-the-derp. But this? She easily became the most prominent figure of her time. What was your luckiest encounter?
  14. How would that work? Is this some spiritual stuff that lets you decide when you wish to be born? (Without knowing what the consequences are) Or some society where birthdates were never important for registration, and some new age movement made chosing them a trend?
  15. With a three in attack, That might be two dead nichelings. With a two, at least one with a whooping 14 damage. Give them 1 defense and 2 attack, And you have 8 hits from the bird, 16 damage total. One nicheling dead, one wounded. Since you also have a female to kill, expect three dead. Maybe add a defense breaking aspect to their battle cry, and you still have killer birds. You would be right to object that they are easier to kill with late-game strenght. Their cry could well cap damage on the high end, making them a constant deadly foe, but not an impossible killing machine in early and midgame.
  16. As they are small enough to be prey to bluebirds... you'd have a chicken sized bird, stronger than a bear. Just how does that work? Further, flighted animals have little defense. If they're OP in the strenght department, this part here really pushes what is believeable to me. A balance bear might not be the strongest, but since they ambush nurseries in deep winter, they certainly are trouble. They're balanced that way with their lifespan. Your RRP would kill the average nicheling in three hits. Three hits. Give your early to mid game basic hunter a strenght of 6. Thats 7 attacks (Edit: lifespan is 40, not 45) And you have two dead and one badly hurt nicheling.
  17. Slot0,1,2,3,4. nichesave, I mean. They probably are, just making sure it's not that or admin. rights issues (I don't know what to call them in English).
  18. @Wander Somehow, you remind me of the Grox in your style. 🤐 (Though I am willing to feed poison berries to everyone that is not the breeding pair...)
  19. Alright, if there is something wrong with it, I don't know what. The only experience with files disappearing I've had stems from PC and a mercurial Bitdefender. I am truly sorry, but I can't find answers to the problem.
  20. Geez, a bird that is stronger than a balance bear or killer bearyena? While having insane speed? Even the female is as strong as a normal one. Maybe nerve the attack to 2 and lifespan to 30?
  21. Maybe add them to the more live-less biomes, aswell? I'd love some more live outside of the snow.
  22. @Wander, There sadly is no cheat for nesting material. Spawn rates, age, gender, genes, food and unlocking, at least, ancient and bearyena genes is possible, with varying degrees of results. ExploreAllFields (or something) works quite well. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1230909757 This covers the basics. All cheats have had bad, tough fixable consequences for myself -- except one. Do not mess with certain spawn rates. Giant empty patches without food are game breaking. Spawn rates for wanderers and rogues did work just fine, though.
  23. I am going to check if I uploaded them correctly. Sorry for the trouble, either way, tough I've never had a Mac. No idea about compatibility.
  24. I have two clans by now, one by the lake, the other in a hunting ground. While medicine cats need to receive a sign fron starclan by the lake, it is a passed down rank in the other. From the first apprentice to the last, they proudly fellow the line of the cats before them to settle on this island. Female leaders regularly have children in Lakeclan, while this wouldn't just be frowned upon in the latter, but result in banishment. They both think their traditions are better than the other's, but they're actually equally bigoted. Needless rules do make for story telling :P. imagine the lack of drama without either in the books...
