Update: I went ahead and deleted my save file from the game and replaced it with a backup file. That didn't help. I also copied my save file to a different computer and loaded it there. That didn't help either. Both times the snow remains frozen forever. The problem definitely has nothing to do with reloading the save file.

Nope. As I said in the previous post, I am putting it in an empty slot.

This wasn't getting addressed elsewhere, so I'm making a separate thread for it. When I paste a save file into the Saves folder, it doesn't show up when I load the game. I'm pasting it into the correct folder and giving it the name of an empty slot.

That's exactly what I've been trying to do, but it doesn't work. Shall I post some screencaps? Look, slot 5 is empty! I will put a new file into slot 5! Oops, it's still not there!

No, that doesn't work. Obviously I exited and reloaded the game many times during my 200+ turns on that island. I didn't play the whole thing at one sitting. I've been trying to download a savefile and copy it into an empty slot, but they don't show up (see the savefiles thread).

How do I load a savefile? I copied a save file to back it up, but when I try pasting it into the savefile folder (giving it the number of an empty slot), it doesn't show up in the game. In fact, if I DELETE a savefile from that folder (instead of using the delete tool in the game), the game still loads it successfully, and after I exit the game, the deleted file reappears in the folder. Are they being backed up somewhere else?

Here is my save file. Slot0.nichesave

Sure, where do I find my save file?

I know it's LONG winter, but is it possible there's a bug where the ice just never melts? I have been on the island 261 days, nearly as long as the entire game to that point.

Here is my attempt to make a raccoon. Fur color black x black, pattern color black x white, pattern mask, pattern shape C, pattern size huge, pattern density thick. That should be everything; why isn't it working? (And yes, I'm online.)
