  1. for another example heres an anameme from an animation I've basically given up on at this point lol. in the commissions it would be her full body without most of her hind legs cut out, btw

(this is an animation frame so its a bit messy and the anatomy is really bad o.O)

  2. so I was jealous my sister has a job now and earns like £20 a night from tips (shes a waitress) and I was talking to my dad like "well the only way I could earn money now was by doing commissions, basically I would have to.. (then I explain how commissions work)" and I was expecting him to be like "lol that's dumb" but he actually really thought I should do it instead of dreaming about doing it!! so I probably will!!!

so im gonna spend tomorrow drawing up a sheet showing everything and the prices, and probably getting some example pieces done (because I dont have many drawings with my current art style) so I just wanna ask what people think my prices should be!

so right now I wanna do mainly nichelings and the like (cats n' stuff) and might also do some hollow knight stuff. I know im sort of good enough to do commissions (knowing how to draw many different things without having to spend time learning everything so I can get them done in a good amount of time) but I know I still have some learning to do, so im going to take whatever price I have and cut it in half just to a. make up for the fact some might turn out a bit bad and b. make sure a lot of people buy them at first because it's going to be a twitter post and I have like 5 followers that aren't bots or one of you all

so the two types im going to do is fullbody and head, like this:

    429791069_rykpiydsfg.png.11e933b091fb17735091c13e88126c41.png

the fullbodies would be £8.50, £9 for added shading. they would come with a simple background upon request that would be free because they take like 5 mins lol

if a character is a bit more complex, for example a nicheling with a really detailed mask, the prices would be £10 and £10.50 for added shading

the heads- well the better word would probably be busts- would cost £5, £5.50 for shading, and complex characters would be £6 and £6.50 for shading.

I would also probably do stuff where for a few weeks I would do nicheling fusions (those are very hard and would be like £20 btw) and for another few weeks after that I would do cute couple pictures for £20 too, ect. ect. you get the idea. just little extra deals that come and go and wouldn't be permanent, but might come back in a few months or something.

btw an example of how these would look is this mekoko and a dragon tear that's pretty old and bad (and the neck is really wide???) but oh well:

so what do you guys think? am I good enough for commissions? should I raise/ lower my prices?

I think you’re allowed to swear a little but we got parents who won’t tolerate and will (probably) not allow their children on if they see it... at least censor it a little because I know my parents are like that and I don’t want to not be able to talk to y’all.

yeah it is literally in the rules youre not even allowed to swear if you put one letter and asterisks so uhh

  5. this isn't niche fanart but I put it here because this is how I did the galaxy for this

if you have any questions, ask away!

    1. with a very big pen tool, put down a load of coloured circles. put just pinks purples and blues if you want a less colourful galaxy, but I put down a lot of reds and greens so mine's gonna look a lot more colourful. remember, the range of colours you chose really matters here. also, dont do any yellows ,or greens with no added blue, here because those come later. you can also leave some white spaces too it wont matter

    1.thumb.png.14d0eb6cd5360c5f6f07a1d7583cd40f.png

    2. click on "filter" at the top and then on "gaussian blur", then slide it until you get this effect. you can blur it more or less if you want to, its basically all subjective as to what you think looks good/ suits the rest of the drawing

    3. then you're gonna find the "star" "star 2" and "star 3" brushes and use those. firstly I took star 3, set the colour and hue jitter to about 50, and just randomly put some stars in the background- because these stars are a lot of different colours, you should make them quite big and put the opacity down. just mess around with the brush settings until you get something that looks a bit like this:

    545930632_Screenshot(19).thumb.png.d4b331366a32c9ab3c9c3edb5db8929b.png

    4. with the other two star brushes, just add in some more stars. make sure when you get these you put the colour and hue jitter to zero! I make one type of star white, and the other type of star slightly yellow just to add some variation. tip: make little clusters of stars and put a lot more there, but also try not to put too many in one spot! just try not to make everything spread evenly. also, you should change the opacity of the stars and lower the multicoloured ones the most, then the yellow ones should be the second least opaque, and the white ones should only be put down to about 85%. this is what I got after some fiddling around:

    5.thumb.png.aeb7b5843a7265aa57f851ed72f88c2a.png

    5. now, get an airbrush, make it quite big, and just randomly airbrush splotches of similar colours you used at the start over everything on a new layer to make it a bit more colourful. this is where you can go crazy and add some yellows and greens and reds to the mix too. when you're done, put on a gaussian blur again (but not as strong as the first one, only to like 9 or 10 and adjust the opacity to what looks right. then you're done!

also: if you want to add characters in, put them under the airbrush layer so they look integrated into the background, heres a comparison using a random stick figure with some lovely makeup

  6. if you want an example of my mum's amazing parenting skills when I was like 3 my mum told me to just brush the front of all my teeth (the side other people see when you smile, ect.) so people wouldn't think she was a horrible mum and didn't make me brush my teeth and so when we went places we could all be ready quickly. that stuck somehow in my brain and we had an assembly when I was SEVEN where a dentist came in to teach us how to brush out teeth. sounds stupid, right? well that was where I learnt you actually had to brush the back and top side of your teeth. at age SEVEN. yeeaaahh.great job mum
