All credit to @angelheart to the idea. Most of this is the same idea as Alpha, but with my own touch. To unlock a new biome (or two!), you have to finish a sentence. (ex: I start off with, say, "Too many cooks..." and somebody finishes with "...spoil the broth." At least, I think that's what it is..) Snow sinks under your feet, and wind blows mercilessly.
