They had been walking for hours, and the snow was really starting to pile up.
"I think my paws might just freeze off..."
"I'm coooolllddd! And tired! Someone carry me!"
"Hm, let me think...no."
Bastille finally stopped for a moment, sighing and turning to the other four. "Listen, you may not like what I have to say, but it will be necessary in the long run."
Everyone listened intently-even Statter, who looked more annoyed than they had ever seen her.
Bastille let out a breath. "If we want to make a tribe, then it will be necessary that a few children are born-"
Statter immediately hissed, backing away from the three males and crouching next to Almond.
"No way! If any of you touch me I'll bash your brains in!"
Bastille sighed, clearly losing patience. He opted to ignore her, turning to Almond and raising an eyebrow.
Almond thumped her tail against the ground, keeping silent. Then after a few heartbeats, she nodded. "Sure, I could do that."
Bastille nodded, relieved, and then continued onward, trying to lead them to a safe place.

"Did you get anything?"
Bastille didn't respond, simply dropping the rabbils he caught and stretching.
"I'll take that as a yes."
"How are things going over here?" He asked, sitting down under the tree and turning his gaze to the others.
Almond had picked the bush clean, and Starstruck had gathered up quite a few acorns. Statter was just moodily sitting by the water, presumably having left Starstruck to do all the work.
"Hey, princess."
Statter turned, giving him a glare. "What do you want? I'm busy."
"Doing what? You're supposed to be helping gather food."
"Ugh, that's a servant's job-"
"Oh! Hi there!"
Hearing Almond's words, the other four turned, seeing Almond smiling at some other nicheling.
Wait...
"Almond! Get away from that thing!" Starstruck rushed forward, grabbing Almond and jumping back just as the undead creature snapped at her throat.
The...thing stumbled forward, tripping and falling on it's face for a moment. It seemed to have no sense of direction, turning every which way as nobody made a sound.
"We need to go." Bastille whispered, jumping over the small river and waiting for the others.
Everest was trying to quietly climb out of the hot spring, but he slipped and tumbled into the nest, no doubt alerting the monster to where they were.
It perked up it's ears, slowly turning it's head towards them and walking forward, blind eyes wide.
"Go!" Starstruck shoved Almond towards he river, before picking up Everest and leading him in the same direction. Statter followed suit, jumping the gap and running for her life.
All five nichelings ran away, too far to hear the quiet phrase that the monster spoke.
"New normal..."

"Look! A tree!"
Almond ran forward, picking up an acorn and cracking it open.
The other four followed her, scanning the area for anything else useful. Surprisingly, they had already found a pretty great camp.
There were two nests, a tree, a berry bush, and even a hot spring-the last one being particularly useful since over half of them would probably freeze to death.
"Can we all just agree that we probably won't find a better place than this?"
"Well I'm taking the hot spring! I'm freezing!"
"Sorry, it's already taken." Starstruck shrugged, standing on the edge of the spring with Everest, who was just kinda staring at it.
Statter scoffed, stepping forward and shooting the male a look. "No it isn't! You're not even in it!"
Starstruck stared at her for a few moments, before reaching to his left and pushing Everest in the hot spring. "Now it is." He snickered, quickly apologizing to Everest as he popped up and glared at him.
"Stop screwing around, we need food. Almond, pick the berries. Statter and Starstruck, crack the acorns. Everest, you can...uh...sit there and be warm. I'll go hunting."

"New normal."
What?
"New normal."
What kind of voice...that-that wasn't a normal voice, what were they saying?
"Things will be...okay..."
...wait-
"Hey kid, you alive?"
.......
"Of course she is!...I think!"
"That was probably the least helpful thing I've ever heard, congratulations."
"Wait! She's moving!"
The nicheling stirred, rubbing her aching head with a groan and mustering enough strength to slowly open her eyes. Not what she expected to see first thing.
Four nichelings-one female and three males-stood around her, staring at her like she had two heads. What were they looking at? Why was she even here? Stupid commoners.
"Um, excuse me, but why are you all staring at me? It's rude."
One of them-the one with the purrsnout-scoffed, leaning his head closer to her face and glaring at her.
"No need to get snippy, girlie. We found you on the beach and assumed you were dead, maybe one of the monsters got you or something."
"Ugh! You can't talk to me like that, peasant!" She snapped, swiping her paw at his face. He just leaned back, easily avoiding her claws and cuffing her on the side of her head.
"Don't ever try that again, brat." He growled, sitting back and narrowing his eyes.
Before she could bite back at him that he should be executed, the only other female hopped up and shot her a smile.
"I'm really glad that you're not dead! What's your name? I'm Almond!"
"Statter." She sat up, closing her eyes and proudly raising her head. "Princess Statter."
Nobody seemed to react to that last part, which made Statter want to have them sent to the dungeons or something. These commoners had no manners.
"I'm Starstruck." One of the other males piped up, slipping forward and smirking. He raised his wing, presumably trying to do, what, some sort of curtsey? Quite pathetic when you have half of an arm and a bat wing.
"Bastille." The one with the purrsnout answered next, then turned to the last nicheling.
"What about you?"
The small male just blinked, eyes darting around as if he was looking for something. He seemed utterly confused, and hadn't uttered a word, despite the fact that Bastille was growing more and more impatient.
"Oh uh, that's Everest." Starstruck came forward, spreading his wing out in front of Everest and giving Bastille a nervous smile. "He doesn't talk."
Bastille stared for a few moments, before huffing and walking further into the mountains.
Seeing no other choice, the other four followed, despite Statter's constant complaining and insults.

The lands of niche were never a treacherous place-sure, it was dangerous from time-to-time, but nothing truly life threatening.
Then, a strange anomaly started to pop up.
The dead started to come back to life.
This would usually be a good thing, and that's what the nichelings thought too, but something wasn't quite right...
I mean, they're loved ones weren't exactly ruthlessly attacking, tearing apart, and eating them while they were alive.
They also never spoke such strange phrases.
hehheh zombie niche playthrough go brrrrr
love me another playthrough that i may never update again
first update will be in the next post

Not long ago, a tribe lived. They were a normal tribe, happy and free, until they made a grave mistake.
Now they live in cruelty.
Aka, I was bored and wanted to make another challenge-
The gist of this is that the ancestors of your starter nichelings did something to seriously anger the gods, and they were forced to become cruel and violent to appease them.
(this all ties in with my story for my pantheon and how things arent as they seem, but just do whatever works for you I guess??)
Rules:
1. Six starter nichelings, four females and two males, they can have any genes you want.
2. Nests can only be built in very specific places, unless they are permanent (permanent nests are considered a gift, sort of a break, if you will).
These are the specific spots nests can be built:
Clover patches (the ones in the mountains), puddles (they must be destroyed once the puddles disappear), on top of an acorn, under a palm tree (haha, no, this is not optional
), on top of a pile of meat, or on top of a regrowing berry bush.
3. There will always be a leader, who is expected to rule with an iron fist and be unforgiving, cruel, brutal and cold.
4. When the previous leaders dies, two nichelings are nominated by the tribe to fight to the death for leadership.
5. Leaders basically live on tree stumps, and claim any area within a six tile area from the stump as theirs, and any other nichelings aside from the leader and their mate aren't permitted to be in that area.
6. The leader can choose any mate they want, though they are not required to stay loyal and can breed with anyone whenever they feel like it.
7. The leader's children are only treated more highly if their other parent was the mate that the leader chose for themselves, otherwise they are just another member in the tribe.
8. Any nichelings born that don't have any particularly useful genes or aren't very talented in any skill are either killed somehow (drowned, kicked out and then killed, poison berries, console, however you want) or are kept with very low privilages as prisoners if they have some interesting or useful recessive genes.
9. The leader always has at least a 2 in strength, though the higher the strength, the more likely they will be nominated.
10. Every 20-30 days (you can decide), the tribe basically has a battle royal. They send 10 nichelings into one spot a decent ways away from the camp, and have them fight to the death to prove they are useful. The one nicheling that survives gets bumped up into a higher status as one of the leader's second-in-commands.
11. During each battle, a few trustworthy nichelings are set up around the area to make sure the fighting nichelings aren't just about to run away to another island.
12. Mates much stay loyal to each other for life, and any nicheling caught mating with someone who isn't their partner (with the exception of the leader) will be executed or banished, though banishing someone just means they'll come and take your food...
13. Though anyone is free to be mates with whoever they want, the leader has full permission to seperate mates and pair them up with someone else if they feel that it's necessary.
14. Kill the friendly bearyenas
Some extra info:
Use a random number generator for Rule 10
Every nicheling gets a number based on when they were born. For example, the first born child gets 1, the second born 2, etc (this doesn't apply to your six starter nichelings) and write that number in parentheses next to their name. When each battle comes around, put each number you have in your tribe into a generator, and then roll it ten times. Those ten numbers you get are the nichelings that will fight. (you can either choose who wins, or roll another generator for it)
Names are handled a bit differently in this tribe. There are three different types of name:
1. Names that are split into two words.
These names are usually descriptive of the child's looks, how the parent was feeling, something that happened when they were born, or a reminder of someone that lived before them. (Examples: Meadow Rain, Silver Shade, Reed Stalk, etc-make sure the space is there, these aren't warrior cat names)
2. Names that are a single letter.
These are usually for when the parents either couldn't care less about their child, knew it was going to be executed, or just weren't very creative. Most often named after one of their immunity genes. (Examples: Z, C, A, G, etc)
3. Earned names
These are the most rare form of name. The leader will stop by and specifically say not to name the child, which is basically code that they see potential in them. This happens quite rarely, and it's a massive honor. Once the child reaches teen age and trains for a while under the guidance of a higher-up nicheling, they will be sent out to do some 'heroic' task-like taking down a bearyena all by themselves, luring a pack of ramfoxes to the tribe so they can eat, letting themselves get bit by a leech and then seeing how long they can last as the razorania attack them, and so on. If they succeed (*cough* survive *cough*), then they are granted their new name. It is most often based on the task they were granted, or just something that they remind others of. (These can be pretty much anything as long as it's an actual word, so nothing like 'Vankir' or 'Anaana')
And finally, the settings:
Baby: 2
Child: 3
Teen: 10
Adult: 70
Attack damage: x4
Environment Damage: x3
Hunger Damage: x3
Healing: x2

here ya go, a bunch of side characters-
Name: Crow's Warning
Clan: Alley
Age: 4-ish years?
Rank: Watcher (maybe deputy?-)
Gender: Female
Appearance: Completely black cat with torn fur and dark amber eyes
Personality: Quiet, calculating, and very judgmental. Also quite rude and snarky-it's a wonder her mate saw anything appealing in her.
Notes: Carrion Feast's mother. She has a very tense and aggressive relationship with her daughter, for several reasons. She thought she was diseased and convinced everyone to stay away from her, even naming her in a horrible way as a sort of...suggestion. She even urged Carrion to 'go be a burden on some other clan' when she reached 8 moons. Not a very good mother, indeed.Name: Clouded Moon
Clan: Bobcat
Age: 3 years
Rank: Nurse Mother
Gender: Female
Appearance: Smoky grey with white paws and bright blue eyes
Personality: Very sweet, complete opposite of Crow-though she will speak her mind if she has to.
Notes: Crow's sister and Trail Blazer's adoptive mother. She raised him for the last few moons he was still a kit, and considering how close they are, she may as well be his biological mother. She understands his behavior more than anyone else, and sympathizes with him more than she gets annoyed with how much trouble he gets in.Name: Fox Trot
Clan: Bobcat
Age: 5 years
Rank: Watcher
Gender: Male
Appearance: Bright ginger with faded tabby stripes, black ears and paws, and a fluffy tail with a white tip (so uh, he basically looks like a fox-)
Personality: Used to be very bright and happy, though now he mostly keeps to himself. He's not rude by any means, but he usually won't talk unless spoken to first.
Notes: Trail's father. He was a pretty good father, but then the...'incident' happened, and he doesn't even look at his son anymore. He doesn't want to be reminded. Several cats have criticized him for this, but he just brushes them off and says that he'll 'keep it in mind'.also, i may as well explain what happened with Trail-
He had two sisters-Poppy Seed and Gale Storm-born to his parents Fox Trot and Morning Dew. One day, his sisters fell in a river and Morning Dew jumped in to get them, but all three never came back up. The clan was never able to recover their bodies, and Fox Trot took the death of his daughters and mate hard. Trail took it even harder.

Real or not
do you really hate them that much
Uh well, don't you think that's kind of an overreaction? It's a game, and even in the game, nothing bad happens to them if they aren't fed
I don't care if you feed your cubs, go ahead, but I don't do it because there is literally no point and it's a waste of resources

that's evil
Well, they're not real lions, soooo
they're just pixels-it's like how nothing bad happens if you inbreed your lions, God isn't going to smite you for breeding your pixel lion with his pixel daughter-and he also wont smite you for not feeding your cubs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Goodbye Pebblestar, you were a great leader, and led the clan with courage and honor.
Poor girl didn't have an easy life. Both of her parents died when she was young, leaving her to be raised mostly by her mentor and half-brother, Torntooth. She never took a mate, since she never felt attraction towards anyone in the clan, but she would rather focus on her duties anyway.
She was never the same after Torntooth and Pricklekit died. She stayed holed up in her den, refusing to eat, and only speaking with Boatooth and Sunspots-her medicine cat and deputy.
That was what killed her-the fact that she couldn't bring herself to move on from her losses. She starved nine times over, refusing to eat even after she had lost so many lives.
Sunspots will become Sunstar, and hopefully lead the clan to a bright future.

Ohohohoho, it is not fun
I've only had it twice, once with a hallucination and once without (as far as I knew, I was pretty panicked-and also facing a wall)
Even without the creepy hallucinations, it's still pretty scary. Being unable to move a muscle, and just frantically looking around the dark with room with just your eyes, is absolutely terrifying.
If it ever happens to you, I suggest that you focus on moving one of your toes first. If that works, keep trying to move your other ones and you'll eventually wake up. Fair warning: you may not even sleep for the rest of the night.
I uh, would rather not talk about the time with the hallucination, but it's still scary either way

Name: Carrion Feast (im not even sure if that would work as a name, but i can come up with another if it really doesnt work rtfygdrfty)
Clan: Alley
Age: 25-ish moons? adult age esrrdtfy
Rank: Watcher
Gender: Female
Appearance: Black with brown stripes and growing spots of white, amber eyes
Personality: Generally cold and unresponsive, she doesn't talk much, though she does what is told. Plenty probably assume she's mute as a result.
Notes: She has vitiligo, I'm guessing you know what that is- (I also like the idea of the clan thinking she was diseased or something, which is why she was named like that and shes not very social-)Name: Eclipse Fire
Clan: Starlight
Age: 9 moons
Rank: Learner
Gender: Female
Appearance: Chimera (y'know, those cats with the split faces?)
Personality: Kind, though she spaces out a lot. She has a lot of questions about herself and the world, but she holds back from asking in fear of being judged.
Notes:Name: Trail Blazer
Clan: Bobcat
Age: 9 moons, same as Eclipse
Rank: Learner
Gender: Male
Appearance: Bright ginger tabby with the swirly looking tabby stripes (you know the ones), a cream underbelly and paws, and dark brown eyes
Personality: Brash, impulsive, and kind of rude? He's actually pretty angry at himself and others, but he tries to cover it up with jokes and acting happy. Some times are more successful than others.
Notes: He uh...didn't have a nice past, which is why he's the way he is-I know that's really vague but I promise I actually have ideas xrtfygucyuhij-

Infectious Lands-Aka Niche except it's the Walking Dead
in Playthroughs

Just a few days later, after finding a decent spot to rest for a while, Almond had her child.
The only one currently with her was Everest, who was keeping a close eye on the bird in the sky as Almond slept.
