“See, my screaming brought someone to us!”

    “Are you okay?!”

“No, he’s not. How are you?”

The pink female gave a confused look, then started looking Amulet over for wounds.

    “He seems okay.”

“Trust me, he’s not. And it’s not something you can fix.”

    “I’m fantastic, thank you.”

“You two are odd… I like it!”

Muddle had been playing with Bandana, her newest cub, when she felt warmth from behind her. She turned to face a bearyena, who started growling.

She stared absently for a few moments before growling back and wrapping around Bandana. She laid down, not moving away from the cub.

When Bisib woke up, he started yelling.

    “Muddle, move!”

    “No.”

“Did you not see the bearyena behind you?!”

“I saw it. I also saw my cub.”

“You can have another cub, just get away from that thing!”

“I’m not leaving my cub behind!”

    “Why are you all yelling?!”

    “Look!”

Lime rubbed his eyes and looked up to see the bearyena. He went wide-eyed and started backing away.

    “I’m too young to die!”

“Ugh, do I have to do everything myself?!”

Bisib shoved Muddle out of the way, and as soon as the bearyena was about to snap at the cub, Bisib tackled it down. He clawed the bearyena’s throat, then held its head down until it went limp.

Muddle quickly jumped back into the nest, curling around Bandana and making sure he didn’t have any wounds on him.

    “Stop screaming!”

“No! It’s my job to scream!”

    “We don’t have jobs!”

Amulet gave an annoyed look before screaming at the top of his lungs.

Milo reached up and pushed his jaw up so his mouth was shut.

“If I have to listen to any more of your screaming then I will personally throw you in that river and hold you down.”

    “I’ll squawk at you.”

“Is that supposed to be an insult?”

“I will scare you away with my magnificent squawking.”

    “Yeah, okay.”

As soon as a hotspring was spotted, Amber rushed in.

Yolk followed, resting her head on the side of the spring.

    “Get off.”

“Nah. This is nice and comfy.”

Amber tried to push her head off, but she wouldn’t budge.

    “Move.”

“No thanks. Your paws are nice and warm though!”

    “Hi!”

Craph stared up at a spikey female who had been watching her brother for a while now.

The female lifted her head to look at Craph, then she smiled.

“Hello little one. What’s your name?”

“I’m Craph! Ooh, and this is Crust!” Craph nudged the cub sitting in the nest.

    “Those are lovely names.”

“Thanks! I’m sure Crust would say thanks too if he could!”

    “I’m Sacre by the way.”

    “Like Sacred? Sacred Sacre!”

    “Yeah. Sacred Sacre.”

As soon as another nest was spotted, Muddle hopped in. She curled up and laid down, watching Craph play in the grasses.

“Why do you want so many children?”

“They’ll understand… They won’t look at me weird.”

    “That’s weird.”

“Why do you keep saying everything she does is weird?”

“Because it is. Have you not been listening? Children don’t understand anything, they just run around and annoy us.”

“That may be how you see it, but that’s not how others see it.”

“Well that’s because others are dumb.”

“Shut up! The both of you!” Muddle kicked her leg out, almost knocking the boulder over.

Craph looked up from below the boulder, tilting her head.

    “Don’t those hurt your mouth?”

Yolk had been watching Amber eat the thorns off of toxic berries. The bare berries had been tossed to a pile on the side, left thornless without their poison.

    “No. It’s delicious.”

“Okay then. Just make sure not to get yourself hurt, bud!”

Yolk nibbled on a thornless berry, occasionally glancing over at Amber.

    “She’s tiny.”

“Very. What are you naming her?”

    “Craph.”

    “That’s an odd name.”

    “You’re an odd name.”

Muddle curled her fluffy tail around the small creature, keeping her close.

    “I think it’s a nice name.”

    “Water.”

The two stared at the river in front of them, Amulet slapping his paw down on the surface to splash Milo in the face.

    “Hey! Why’d you do that?”

“Blinding your enemy makes it easier to escape.”

“You consider me your enemy?” Milo lifted her head to look at Amulet.

Amulet shrugged, leaning forward and taking a drink from the river. He yanked his head back and then held his head down.

    “What happened? What’s wrong?”

“My head hurts! It’s really cold.”

“Well maybe you shouldn’t have stuck your head in freezing water.”

“Hey, Amber! What do you think of this new place?”

The male turned to look at her, staying silent for a few moments before sitting down.

    “It’s cold, like dry blood.”

    “Okay….”

“I take that back, dry blood could be warm.”

“We should just get to exploring already..”

Yolk pushed forward through the breeze, followed by Amber.

"Amira. Hide behind the hot springs." Amira did a quick jump up and over the slippery sides of the rocks. She peaked over the edge to see what had made Meshila so cautious all of a sudden.

Meshila let out a warning growl at the animal that was approaching. The wind was blowing towards the animal so she couldn't make out a scent to identify what animal was coming closer. The fog created by the hot springs also didn't help her sight.

Amira lowered herself when she heard paws running over the snow. This animal wasn't the least bit careful about how much noise it was making. She clicked her tongue as she saw a nicheling dash past her. The lingering scent making her aware it was a male.

Meshila growled and jumped at the nicheling making sure to pin it to the ground. The pinned nichling growled back and used his hind legs to kick her off. Meshila landed on her side but got back up again with a growl.

"Meshila! It's me." The male dodged her attack and tried to calm her down.

Meshila paused and stared at the male, slowly realizing just who it was. "Tribe leaders mate?"

Said male flinced at the name. "Please don't call me that."

She glowered at him. "But that's you name now."

"It's not!" Looking down dejected. "I hate that name. It's not even a name." He chuckled without humor before looking back into her brown eyes. "I missed you."

She huffed and looked at him as he gave her a big grin. "You're a fool."

    *Clears throat*

The tubes you had entered began to rise, you entered the arena, it was a field with a dense forest surrounding it, in the center were... weapons, the outside stuff was mostly packs for help with survival but the closer to the center you got, the better the weapon.

    A Loudspeaker came on.

Nichelings, You are here today to compete- in the Niche hunger games!

you are in the Newcomer’s arena, Your task is to stay alive longer than any of the others.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

    10...

    9...

    8...

Muddle looked around at the other nichelings before staring at the equipment in the center. She growled a little, but readied herself to run as soon as she was able to get out.

Everybody has safely crossed the river, now making their way onto the ports. The nichelings were suspicious of a new wanderer whom reminded them of Blizzard, though the swaying back and forth from Forest Fire caught some nicheling’s attentions.

“What are you doing?” Vipeje glared at Forest Fire, her gaze burying deep into her fur.

“I.. I’m spinning! Wheee!” Forest Fire giggled, looking around dizzily. The more she moved, the bigger her headache got, but she was more distracted by all of the spinning colours.

“Are you okay dear?” Echo stared at her with a concerned look, trying to figure out what was going on.

“I’m great! The grass is really pretty..”

“Oh honey, that’s the sky.” Echo brought her wing up to her face as a sort-of face-paw.

    “Sky, grass, what’s the difference?”

“Come here dear.” Echo waved her over, and she stumbled over and collapsed.

    “She’s pitiful…”

11.thumb.png.2b904159cda3cdba8785be1ca1fe3bae.pngThe yellow eyed male looked down at his three cubs that remained.

    Disgust.

He couldn't figure out if it was from seeing his unwanted offspring or for himself. He looked off into the distance where Meshila had went with his oldest cub.
His eyes wandered over to his 'mate' and he sighed. He was so eager to show that he can be the best for this tribe that he never thought of what he would lose.

    Young. Impatient. Foolish.

Lowering his head he let his paws sink into the snow. The cold was something he was used to now. The leader was getting ready to sleep while the cubs settled down too.
    He slowly slinked away.

    Away from his 'home'.

    His 'tribe'.

    His 'family'.

I haven't really won that battle just yet (As in I still struggle a lot with it at times). SO what I do is use references and a lot. I currently have 936 images that I use as references (JUST FELINES) when I draw. I also have a board above my place where I draw with quick facts and tips. Drawings I drew and liked are also on it to inspire me along with printed pictures of a cats face from front, side and third view. (Also one of my fav artist Naomi_lord artwork just for some more inspiration.)
