Back at the nest Hethena worries. The tribe will go hungry tonight due to Simiana and Roroso's efforts to slay the bearyena. She's never worried like this in her life, but she knows that they have no choice. It's either they kill the beast now, and go hungry for one night, or endure the bearyena's attack for many days to come. Plus some of the children like Duana, who with all her fierceness, can't run very fast and would succumb to it's attack.

Big drama in the tribe today... Roroso steps in to fight the bearyena. Together him and Simiana claw and scratch at it. Cove watches the fight from the side. He wants to join in and help but his sister Simiana blocks him. She must keep him from the danger, no matter what. He his upset. He can't understand his sister's intentions to protect him, for this is one of her roles as leader.
