  1. Day 5, Weather sunny, no threats Riley sits on top of a tree stump and apptemts to call for other members of her species. Day 8, Weather rainy, 1 threat (minor) For the past few days our nicheling has been living off roots around the stump, and calling for others often. Today it seems like her calls caught the attention of an older male nicheling. He is nicheling 002, also called 'Emiliano' Oh no! It seems like her calls also attracted a rogue male: a male nicheling with bad genetic mutations, often as a result of inbreeding. Intrestingly, rogue males will always apptemt to seek out females to breed with. They never have proper mating rituals. This is because no females will accept rogue males as mates. Emiliano strikes back angaist the rogue male, causing it to flee.
  2. Day 0, Weather sunny. No threats. Nicheling 001 is on the coastline. She'll most likeley either follow the borders of the island and apptemt to fish, or find berries and land prey deep in the grass. It seems as she's decided to crawl into the grass. This actually makes a lot of sense. Being alone, 001 will be unable to remove any leeches that happen to be in the water, as well as the fact food is more abundant there. Day 1, Weather sunny, no threats It seems Riley found a bush. Unfortunatley, she cannot pick from it as the berries are toxic. Day 3, Weather Rainy, no threats. Luckily she has managed to dig out some roots to eat before her supply of fat runs low.
  3. Inspired by: Lifespan Nicheling lifespan is known thanks to this graph. Nichelings- explaination Nichelings are (usually) mammalian, omnivorous creatures found on a set of recently discovered islands. They are the most diverse species known on planet Earth- some exhibit fangs or long, canine snouts, others have beaks, or different heads entireley, even gills. They come in various sizes and colours, with many different paw and tail types as well. Thanks to this they are often used for researching genetics, since the different genes of two nichelings can combine into virtually anything. Intrestingly enough, all Nichelings show signs of intelligence: many form complex groups with various ranks and sometimes even jobs, like hunters or babysitters, as well as deafeat predators and prey alike with complex strategies. However, they are comfirmed not to be sapient. Our nicheling This is Nicheling #001, or, as she is dubbed, Riley. She grew up being researched specifically for genetic experiments, but now, Riley will be realesed into the wild to document Nicheling behavior, especially of one alone. Island The island that Riley will live on is a large one, with medium temperature and mixed biomes which allow us to see which Riley will gravitate towards.
