  1. Sounds interesting, I was wanting to do a fish challenge. I might check it out when I have time! I actually played around as frogs a bit but haven't posted the screenshots for it yet (plan to make a topic on that soon). Also idk if this should be in playthroughs since it isn't technically a playthrough. Maybe just in Discussion and Feedback? Though i dont think the mods will care

I do, but I find it hard to keep up with playing more than 5 at a time :)

Makes sense lol. I have my savefiles organized into folders and such so I know which is which in case I ever need/want to play them. Including backups I have over a dozen, not including backups I have somewhere around 10. Three of them are other people's and are pretty much never played, a couple are ones I have saved because I didn't want to delete them but don't plan on ever playing again. A couple more are ones I plan on using/playing at some point in the future. Some I play occasionally, and then there are the ones I play consistantly, usually ones that I have a series on youtube about. Oh and I can't forget the shared ones, one with my sister (our duel cat and parrot challenge), and the other the Community Challenge. But it is kinda hard to keep them all straight so I get that isn't for everyone lol. I'm glad you know how to back-up/make a copy of your saves in case you ever need to!

Oooh, that's a pretty interesting idea! :D I'd look into it, but unfortunately I already have a lot of save-files so I don't have space, haha.

    Also; it's spelled archipelago! :)

Do you know how to backup/save your savefiles? If you do this you can have as many as your computer has the space for, not just 5! (And niche savefiles are only killibytes big btw)

Moaraara wasn't abandoned, tbh Makiia was the one who raised Kuku if I remember correctly

AH Ok, I wasn't sure cause she was no-where near either of them when I got the savefile and nobody told me this that I know of. In my turn Kuku and Moaraara were both nearby Retare and I had her watch over them and raise and protect them both. So maybe Makiia had to leave and told her sister to look after her kid like she had looked after Retare's? Anyways, here's the savefile:

    Slot2.nichesave

It should be their second day on what I believe is the Summer Mountains if this is the correct save. It is the end of the second day and from what I remember everyone has already done all their moves.

I believe it is @Mothpool's turn.

I am done with my turn! Will post screenshots and save file when I can. Putting down some challenges/reminders for next person with savefile before I forget.

Kuku took some unfortunate damage from a bearyena (which he then obliterated) shortly before we left. He is low on health and as such you should breed him and his mate as much as possible and try and find a healing plant for him. Also maybe try and sheild him in case a predator attack if possible. That being said, he won't be easy to protect as he likes to hunt and will try and protect those he cares about. Only his mate and his adoptive brother Moaroara may be able to talk him out of it. Though he is smart and will likely try and have other strong members help him, he probably won't try and fight predators on his own. Is also respected by most everyone.

I have used gems to mark family lines and breeding pairs. If a nicheling has one or 2 gems that arent green its simply their family line marked. If a nicheling has 3 colored gems then the other nicheling with those colors is their mate.

Eli likes to hunt and fight. She also likes to explore. She's often impulsive and headstrong. Her mate Garnet is good at fighting and has a tender heart. He's protective but also wise. He doesn't go looking for trouble but will sacrifice himself for the sake of the group. Garnet is able to convince his mate not to do something stupid sometimes, amd she may also listen to Kuku since he is strong. Also, these two should breed soon to prevent one of them dying without passing on their genes because I think their personalities make them prone to it.

Quinn Jr. doesn't like the barren rocks of the mountain at all. But he ventures out of the grass from time to time to dig roots. Was first coaxed out by Kuku.

Kappa is Kuku's mate and she loves him dearly. She fears he is weakened by the bearyena encounter and will soon die. She is eager to have children. She also has a great love for water and hangs out near the shore alot.

Moaroara is the explorer. He knows alot and his speed and knowledge. are appreciated. He doesn't mind the boring task of gathering berries or putting his life on the line to protect the tribe from predators. The only child of Makiia, abandoned by his mother, he was adopted by Retare and shares a brotherly bond with his adoptive brother Kuku. He has no mate at the moment, but is certainly not opposed if he finds the right female.

Raella is the fishy miracle child that was "picked up" to be brought to the other side of the island. Moaroara is the one who picked her up and as such he practically raised her. So she views him as her father and sticks closely to him. He loves her like his adoptive mother loved him. She isn't very close to Eli, though she has seen her before when she was a baby and their mother was alive.

Chie was raised by her sister Yukiko. She is sad her sister didn't want to come to another island, (Yukiko loves the swamp where she was raised and didn't want to leave). Chie is a bit clingy to Kuku atm cause he is the one who took the poor child hunting. She is tentative and a bit shy. She isn't very good at hunting but still wants to succeed in it because of her heritage.

Rufus and Swan are in love and care about eachother. They are a mating pair expecting their first child. Swan dove right into the icy water to find food, (she didn't like water early in her life but has developed the love of it swimming near the port with her father, Bear). Rufus doesn't like water, especially cold water, but will do anything for Swan so he dove right in after her. Swan and Rufus are quite practical and focus on gathering food. They are the only tribe members who enjoy berry-gathering. Rufus is also the official bug-eater now that Yukiko is gone and will come help his tribemates should any bugs need eating. They will defend eachother and will also come help and defend Kappa if neccesary. Kappa and her sister are quite close.

So we can continue to weave a story that makes sense! It's alot of text I know...you don't have to if you don't have time. For easy reference you must do at least 5 days, and the most you can do is 25. Have fun and good luck!

I would too normally, but I decided to make it this way so nichelings can have a max of 8 children; because this challenge is about evolving I wanted to make it trickier I guess? But I think it is a bit too hard (my attempt at doing it failed miserably haha...) so I'm likely going to lengthen it even more honestly. Maybe to 41 days? That would give an average of... Probably around 8? and max of 12 offspring per Nicheling.

41 sounds good! Though maybe you should expand the number of days till the challenge ends to be 120 or something like that since generations will be longer and you want more of them for adaptation. Or maybe just make it so you have to reach gen 10

    Onion's Organization

Impulsive midnight post because I'm a night goblin

    20210620130109_1.thumb.jpg.125b5d8ae51a30bdd47f58fc2a9618ac.jpg

Onion was surprised to see the empty hotsprings. The rock he laid down  on Fire Jade's tail was toppled to the side of the hotsping, with a bit of dried blood and gray fur. How could a blue bird get her?

But he realized that, he had so much power, leading this group. Fire Ruby and Fox Heart both likely knew this was the case; Fox Heart could predict the future, Fire Ruby had helped Onion.

He whispered to the two of them:

"Why don't we make a new Empire? Moose and Fire Opal weren't good to me, or most of us. I have no idea how Horizon will lead the tribe. And we can even overpower these two if needed."

Fox Heart flicked her ear: "I foresee this will work out brilliantly."

Arctic could sense something was wrong. They turned to back out of the clearing, but Onion beckoned them back; Lichen and Arctic had realized their intentions.

"What do we name ourselves?" Asked Fire Ruby.

    Lichen shuffled awkwardly.

"Something in relation to Onion? It was his idea, after all." Fox Heart remarked.

"Onion's Empire doesn't sound too grandiose." Fire Ruby explained.

"Onion's Organization sounds nice." Onion looked down at his claw, pleased.

    20210620130529_1.thumb.jpg.bc9613575752ca9918b1c027e26d4fa0.jpg

(I don't remember if Fox Heart bred with Onion or Lichen sooo we'll learn soon enough I suppose)

Arctic went to run. They made it over the rabbit burrow and towards the mountain beak before Fire Opal grabbed them.

"Nobody is leaving." She said, calmly and edged with ice.

Fire Opal dragged them back to the hotsprings, and Onion readjusted the rock to sit on Arctic's hindleg. They yelped in pain, and struggled, although their strength faltered as the day ended.

I'm sorry, Mother, Father. I've failed you and your legacy. You took on balance bears, and I couldn't defeat another nicheling.

They stared out towards the sea, wondering how difficult it would be to swim across it with a few fruit.

And they wondered how to summon the courage to try.

the most evil nichelings are now united....a third empire? Could it be so? I hope Arctic and Lichen survive. Maybe Fire Jade will rescue them

Prish looked at his best friend Pine. He wasn't the most beautiful of nichelings, but Prish didn't care about appearances. He was kind, funny, supportive, loyal, gregarious! Okay now he was going to chat with him, about... something? Oh no he didn't think that through. Should he ask his mother? No no, she's busy guarding the kits. Oh come on! He can talk to his best friend!

    20210622140508_1.thumb.jpg.690364c5ef2fd9e973760cf9db330041.jpg

Now, let's approach Pine. Try to get him to start the conversation, so that Prish doesn't have to improvise! Slowly approach- Puddle came out of the shore and started talking to Pine before Prish could reach him. He'll just wait for their conversation to be over, it would be rude to interrupt.

    ...

    They are still talking.

    ...

    How long has it been?

    ...

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

    ...

Well, he'll talk with him tomorrow! Yeah! That... will definitely happen!

Prish screamed internally. What if because of this Pine got with Puddle and they had 40 children and forgot about him? Why couldn't she have been taken by that bird-

    Oh.

He really thought that about his own sister? Perhaps he deserved being alone forever... Pine would hate him if he knew what he really felt about everything...

He really didn't have a chance, did he?

I don't know what in the world is going on here but ok i guess

  10. Honestly I kinda like Rore. But I think I like Kuta the best. I don't dislike Pipiri, though. I understand wgere everyine is coming from. I'm shipping Kuta and Sese (or maybe Sese and Rore cause he must have le heirs), but as long as any children happen soon I'll be happy! Great playthrough! The images are few and far between but with all the text describing the story they aren't really needed. With how long it takes to get through you may want to do a time-skip at some point

    Adorable bab~

If you can get her over to the port fast enough without the moveoccupant command, then definitely bring her. She is baby.

I feel like using the console commands would be cheating . . . but those are good genes, and we don't wanna waste food on babs that we don't need too.

Hmm, maybe just for going to the ports we could use moveoccupant if the nicheling we want/need is too far away/too young to get there faster/our turn is ending?

How about we have one use of moveoccupant per turn?

Also, is your screen okay? It looks like it died a little bit . . .

That sounds like a good rule. We can use moveoccupant once per turn. Though maybe it should only be to get ppl on ports or if it makes story sense somehow (like picking up bbs or dragging another nicheling out of harm's way). So it isn't used just to teleport a nicheling far away from a bearyena. But I mean if you use it then you may regret it later when you need it so it may be self-limiting.

It was dropped a long time ago by my dad (was originally his). Normally I play on my desktop now but when I'm not at home I bring this with me to play on. So yeah sometimes I have this crack in the middle of my screen. It's annoying but other than that the laptop works well.

OKAY, this is probably discontinued because I have another playthrough coming up. I'm probably about to post the first part in fact.

But I might make another story-mode playthrough that actually has more story in the future because I realize now that I actually HAVE to have story in my playthroughs or I get bored. So, yeah.

But keep an eye out for the new playthrough, coming soon! :)

So true! Story makes something that would otherwise be boring fun. And my mind is constantly making stories whether I like it or not! Im sad this playthrough is being discontinued but I'm excited about the new one. Goodluck with it!

  13. So, I'm trying to get to the next island before my 25 days is up (and before we waste any more food on nichelings who aren't coming). I have carefully selected all the nichelings to bring to the next island. I am 3-4 days away from having used all 25 days in my turn. (Also no internet rn so I'm using my sister's unlimited data phone to msg this to u.)  All look like they will make it, except one baby on the far side of the island. I would like to bring them because of their good genes and because they are a child of Memela and Priddukir (and because their fish face looks cute and if I don't bring them nobody with gills will come). I would like to use the move moveoccupant command to have an adult "carry" them to the ports. But this would be cheating and may break the challenge. What do you guys think?

    Pic of their genes:
