I actually did not consider that, and I do not know what to do about it. Reduced sight in such an important part of fog, and being without it would be a shame. Even if the reduced sight was -1 instead of -2, it would still render shortsighted nichelings blind. Should it just not reduce sight at all?

I have an idea to propose. If the devs made it so you can move in the smell and hearing modes only fog (and if you’re blind, but that’s another story), then this wouldn’t be that big of an issue. There could also be other genes to increase sight. I’ve seen people suggest firefly tails and angler fish heads which may be enhanced in the fog.

Actually most animals are not combinations, they are just modified versions of the original, like the three apes, the stagmoles and ramfoxes, the goldleech, the razorhana, fish swarms, bug swarms, bluebirds, dodomingos(the name is a combination but not the animal) and maybe balance bears but im not sure about that one. All those are not combinations

Well, I do agree that some animals are not combinations, some that you listed are. Deer + Mole = Stagmole, Goldfish + Leech = Goldleech*, Razorfish + Piranha = Razorhana*, Eagle + Parrot = Bluebird, and Dodomingos used to be pink for the flamingo aspect.

  3.  I've always liked how there are almost two ways to survive the jungle: being undetectable and being obnoxious. I say almost because there's scentlessness vs distasteful scent, camouflage vs distasteful appearance, and stealth vs... nothing. As someone who prefers the obnoxious route, I was upset to find out that strong voice doesn't detour the hearing ape (unless I was just unlucky). Due to this, I've been trying to come up with some genes that would have the distasteful sounding trait. Unlike the other distasteful traits, you would need to activate it to work, similarly to the purr snout. When used, it would detour predators and prey (mostly those focused on sound) from the area it was used in for 2-3 days if it was heard. The higher the distasteful sounding trait is, the larger the radius.

First, there could be a rattlesnake tail, or it might just be called the rattle tail. It would look exactly how you would expect, a rattle. It would have +1 distasteful sounding and maybe +1 heat resistance.maxresdefault.jpg

Next, there could be a cicada body. It would have wings, and I think having the wings up or down would look nice either way. The wings outline as well as the body divisions would be the horn color like the scorpion tail. It would have +2 distasteful sounding and +3 flight.

    Open wings:

    Closed Wings:

As you can see, I didn't come up with that much. If you have any more suggestions, I'd happily add them to this list.

  4. I’m totally for this idea, it was actually one I was planning to post a topic on it myself alongside another winged body: the beetle body with +4 flight and +1 defense. What held me back for posting it was trying to balance it with the wings we currently have. Maybe it wouldn’t add onto the flight if you already have normal wings?  I don’t know, 12 flight seems like too much to me.

Regardless of all that, I have a few questions:

    1. What do you mean by dominant fur color? Since the color in game incompletely dominant, I can only assume you meant either the top color is “dominant” and the bottom color is “recessive”, or the regular color’s “dominant” and the pattern color’s “recessive”.

    2. How would you get the different types?

    3. What do you mean by “+2 intimidate”?

  5. I actually made speedy hindlegs for my more hybrids suggestion, and I bring that up because I made mine +3 speed and +1 swimming. I did this because a key point of hindlegs is to have at least +1 speed and +1 swimming so every creature could move. The speed is more obvious, but for the swimming, imagine a gilled-creature being born in the ocean with no swimming as an example.

or maybe every action symbol gets its own color, like,

    swimm blue,
    walk green,
    breed soft pink,
collect berries dark purple (berry colored),
    build nest beige,
    attack red

    or something like that
I imagine that would even help to prevent missclicks

I get the idea, but I personally don’t think that would work with the games overall aesthetic. You could pull it off, but I think all blue, or green underwater like the original post states, would be a better fit.

  7. Interesting idea! When I first read it, I was expecting it to be based off of the Pachycephalosaurus dome head. It could have +1 strength, +1 defense, and +1 smelling since it is theorized their heads were adapted to have thick skulls due to head butting with each other.

  8. After that, we will look at the  top 10 or maybe top 20 suggestions.
Our team will discuss how much effort the suggestions take.
Depending on the effort and how high an idea ranked, we will choose one big new feature.
And if there are some smaller ones that are easy/quick to add, we'll maybe choose some of them too.“ - Philo

  9. On this save file: Slot3.nichesave  that I started in the version story mode was a thing (0.9?) got kinda mixed up moving to the newest version. I played it during the preview version after the first wave of bug fixes (1.1.1). I didn't touch it again until the official release of the whale island and wings update. What I encountered was an extinct species screen, and then I proceeded to exit to the main island. In the same session, I opened the save file again. I was happy to see all my creatures were there, but the day counter had been reset as well as some genes in the mutation menu (tail, hindlegs, and fertility to be specific). There's probably nothing you can do about it now, but I'm okay with it running normally now, and I thought I'd just let you guys know.

  10. Due to the creation of this post since you would have multiple allies:

As well as having multiple friendly bearyenas at the same time, I would like to propose giving gems to friendly bearyenas (and any other allies like the ones described in the suggestion above). You would be able to change them just like your own creatures as well to keep track of all of your bearyenas. You could also change the name of your friendly bearyenas as they could appear in the family tree just like any other creature.

Somewhat related, I think having wanderers not have gems before you invite them would be great. I think that gems could be seen as a symbol of being apart of the tribe and since wanderers don't follow the 3 energy rule, it would make sense for them not to have gems. They would look like the nichelings you can create with the nicheling explorer you can find here:
