  1. speaking of which, does anyone have a really cool fundraising idea my class needs to make 3,000 dollars in a year so we can afford both proms but we need ideas that high schoolers would actually want to do
  2. well thats kinda a lie at least im not a freshie anymore
  3. "I hate to be a downer, but I have to agree with her." Azure said. "If a creature managed to escape, there's no way they'd go back to the place where they were almost killed. If we want to escape, we'll have to find our own way out. And I think I have an idea."
  4. Azure nodded. "But how? I really doubt any creature is brave our stupid enough to try and get in here, and these cages are made to not be broken out of. And if we escape, we have no clue where we are or where we would go once we were free to actually escape."
  5. Azure's stomach churned. She felt sick. Why are they doing this? They're technology is already so advanced. Why are they so desperate for a dragon? Or are we so strange to them that they feel the only way they can understand us is through dissection? Or are they still mad that they lost the first time they attacked us?
  6. Azure shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe it makes their egos bigger or something. Or they think they're so pathetic that they have nothing better to do than take from us. I don't know why, all I know is that they're a bunch of entitled prissies who think they can just take whatever they want."
  7. Azure shrugged. "I think they were gonna kill me, but then I pissed them off too much so they threw me back here."
  8. She smiled. "I knew this was some kind of mafia boss thing. I mean you've got the bald head, the suit, although your scariness aspect could use some work." She looked up at him. "Look man, I don't know who told you that mythical creatures could give you awesome powers, but do you have any proof? I mean look at me for example. All I can do is turn into a fish and breathe underwater. If you're really desperate for the ability to smell like dried seaweed you could have just asked me to grab you some kelp-" "Told you she was infuriating." Calix told the man. "Why thank you." Azure smiled. The man stalked towards Azure, and grabbed her face in her hand. She tried to pull her head away, but his grip was too strong. "Hm, you got a good one Calix. Strong, formidable, her scales should produce some strong elixirs." He released her and turned towards the human who had captured her. "Where did you find her?" "She and a group of others were gathering plants in a forest. They saw me and raced towards a beach. She was slow, so I managed to catch her. Her friends escaped, but not unscathed. I'm pretty sure I managed to shoot another one." Calix said cooly. Azure laughed. "Pathetic. I'm the slowest runner out of everyone in that colony and you had a hard time catching me. You humans really need to work on your cardio, otherwise you'll never catch another mermaid. That little stunt you pulled practically guaranteed yourselves failure at capturing another mermaid. Unless you can breathe underwater, good luck." The mafia boss man walked towards Azure, and struck her across the face. Hard. Azure blew strands of her brown hair out of her eyes. "Ow! Whatever happened to "Don't harm the specimen, Alex, if she's damaged, she isn't worth anything!" "My name's Calix." the boy hissed. "Eh, whatever, I don't really care." she shrugged.
  9. (its fine no worries) Calix nodded. "Of course, sir..." (do you want to make the appearance of this character)
  10. The guard who had put her in the coffin took her out, and grabbed her wrists, putting them in handcuffs. "Well this is fantastic!" she exclaimed. "Do you ever shut up?" the man who had captured her asked. "No. Its one of my specialties." she smirked. She glanced down at her body, her tail gone and replaced with her legs. "Would anyone be so kind as to fetch me a towel? I'm freezing over here." It was only then she realized she and the man weren't alone in the room. "Grayson, be so kind as to fetch her some clothes. We might as well be somewhat hospitable before we kill her." a voice said. "Oh lovely! Really loving the whole evil mafia boss thing we've got going on. Lemme guess, you were expecting this kind of reaction." Azure faked a dramatic gasp and fell to the floor. "Oh no! Scary humans! Please don't kill me! I'll tell you where all the mermaids are if you let me live! Please!" she mocked. The man who had captured her walked up to her and smacked her across the face. "Shut up." He said, his teeth gritted. "Didn't your mother ever tell you it's not polite to hit a woman?" she said, sitting back up to look him dead in the eyes. His expression was blank. "Calix, leave her. Harming her might lead to imperfections, and it would be such a shame if imperfections cost you your promotion." the voice said. The human stepped back.
  11. "You can say that again." she huffed. Her tail was beginning to ache. I hope everyone else is alright. She thought. Indigo's face of panic and horror flashed in her mind, the scared expression Marina had on her face stuck to her. I have to escape and get back to them... her thoughts were interrupted by a loud banging on her cage. A guard Azure didn't recognized was at her cage. He punched something on the side of her prison, and a small hatch opened at the top. She looked down and saw that the guard had a small glass coffin with him, filled with water. I swear to- She was hoisted out of her cage and thrown into the coffin, which was even more uncomfortable than the cage. She was beginning to think that these cages were designed for fish or selkies, because whoever designed them did not research the size of mermaids. Or they just didn't care. She assumed that the second option was true.
  12. Azure turned to them and nodded in agreement. "Why are we here? And what do they want with us?"
  13. Azure began screaming and pounding on the cage. It was too small and the water was too cold. Her tail and arm had been bandaged where she had been shot, but the cage didn't help with the fact that she was still cramped. Her tail was uncomfortably shoved in with her, which took up most of the space. Her noise must have been realized, because soon the same jerk who had taken her showed up, along with two other grumpy looking humans. Azure glared at him. "You're a [redacted], you know that? You think you're so high and mighty because you're a human and you have those fancy guns and armor." She began mocking him with her hands. He just smiled. "Can't hear you. Glass." He tapped on her cage. She glared at him even more. "Now shut up before I have to knock you out again." And with that, him and the two other guards left. She began pounding on the cage again, but gave up after some time, sinking to the floor of her box.
  14. Calix walked towards the injured mermaid, who was inching towards the water. He stamped a boot down on her injured leg, and she howled in pain. He smirked, and looked up, being met by the icy cold glare of another mermaid. He raised his gun and shot at the water, causing her to duck under. He turned back towards the girl he had captured, and was met with a blast of salty water. Calix spat a few curses, and felt the girl wiggle free from his grip. He opened his burning eyes and shot his gun again. --- Azure's arm exploded in the same white hot pain as before, and she screamed. She was bleeding even more, but she tried to ignore it. She was so close to the ocean. Just a few more steps. If she could just touch it- The man grabbed her outstretched hand firmly and stepped back on her injured leg. Azure thrashed and fought, kicking with her unharmed leg, but it was no use. The man was too strong. Her vision was going blurry, she had lost too much blood and her adrenaline burst was wearing off. She looked up and saw the man smiling. "A mermaid. Hm. They said you'd be hard to catch, so this ought to be worth a promotion." The last thing Azure remembered was being lifted off the ground, and the cries coming from Indigo. (Perfect, because so do I)
  15. As Calix pushed past a tree, he was met by the sight of what he had been looking for. There was a cluster of creatures standing in the clearing in the middle of the forest, about five of them. They looked human enough, but Calix knew better than to make that assumption, as no one gathering plants in this place was human. He slowly began to move towards the group, careful to not draw attention to himself. Two of the creatures were hugging each other, and two others were sorting plants they had collected in a basket. The lone one was talking to the girls that were hugging. His attempt to hear what any of them were talking about was ruined when he heard a loud crack under his foot, and all five of the girls turned to look at him. He only then noticed how beautiful they were. They all had long flowing hair that was braided with sparkling gems and... shells? There eyes were shades of blues and violets, and their skin seemed to glow in spots. Mermaids... he thought in awe. Although they weren't in awe at all. All of their eyes were filled with fear. One with long brown hair turned towards the group, whispered something, and then all of them started running towards the right. Without hesitation, Calix sprinted after them, his gun brandished. --- "Quick!" Azure threw herself at the beach. She watched as Indigo and the others swam further out, dashing into the kelp forests. She was almost at the water. Man I am regretting skipping those morning runs with Kai. She thought. She was so close. She could see Indigo at the surface, her face etched with fear. She began sprinting, and her thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang. She fell to the ground. Pain shot up through her leg like hot fire. She glanced back and saw red staining her left calf, and the smiling face of the man who was standing in the woods nearby, his gun smoking. (sorry this is so long)
  16. Panic flooded Azure's body. She turned to Indigo. "Run. Now." Azure didn't care that he looked sympathetic, she had seen what the humans had been doing to other creatures, and she didn't want to end up like them. She picked up the hem of her soaked dress and bolted off towards the water, her bare feet stinging as she raced over sticks and grass.
  17. (wait can i turn this guy into my human character)
  18. Azure shrugged. "We could wait until there are two of them alone. If we attack them by suprise we can take them before anyone notices. Besides, if our plan fails we can always dive into the water and they'll have no hopes of finding us."
  19. Azure sighed as she slipped the dress on over her soaked body. Her bright blue tail had disappeared and in its place was a pair of legs, freckled with shimmering scales. She helped Indigo to her feet. As they hid in the bushes, Azure saw tons of humans racing through the woods, their feet shaking the ground. "We have to somehow get one of those uniforms, otherwise we'll be taken like everyone else..." she whispered.
  20. She nodded, her eyes floating towards a concealed area of leaves. Swarms of humans were approaching the ocean, brandishing their guns in an intimidating way, ready to strike down any creature they found. "We have to go, now. Ready?" Azure asked an unsure looking Indigo.
  21. I nodded in agreement. "The woods are close, so we could hide in a bush or something. The only problem is finding one close enough to not be seen going to." (same)
  22. I popped my head out of the water and looked around. There were humans everywhere, all wearing the same uniform and carrying large guns. A few larger humans were yelling at the other humans, and they all went scurrying off in different directions. I turned towards Indigo. "How do we sneak out? They're everywhere. It'll be hard to pull ourselves out of the water without being noticed, let alone change." I clenched the cloth dress I had grabbed tightly in my fist.
  23. I nodded. "She's your sister. You would do the same for Jade if he went missing. Besides, we need to find them before the humans do. Even though they look human enough, I doubt it will fool the others if they're dressed in their robes."
