Otto stood up, and it took him a moment to realize the water bottle still in Cedar's cell. Oh no... He didn't have time to grab it. A group of soldiers walked in. "Otto" one of them said. "Hello." Otto replied, trying to not draw attention to Cedar's cell. "You're needed on the bridge." a soldier said. Oh no. "Ok." Otto coughed and, even though he didn't want to, left Cedar and the cell room. What have I done? I've befriended the enemy! If Kamado finds out, I'll be killed!

Iris smiled. "Thanks, I need some happiness in my life right now." He shoved the books in his satchel. "I'll read them later."

"Yeah, it is." he smiled.

Otto didn't reply. He heard footsteps coming again. "Quick!" he hissed.

"Yeah..." he said.

"Cedar..." Otto faltered. "I shouldn't even be talking to you right now. Kamado would have my skin if he knew I told you all of this. Just know that you're like the only" Otto coughed. "You're the only genuine person I've met in a while, and that those elementalist kids are probably still alive."

Iris sighed and washed his burns with cold water.

“Are you ok?”

“Sorry, that’s a personal question. But from what I heard one of them, the fire elementalist, was a boy with dark brown hair and tan skin. Does that sound like someone you know?” Otto covered his mouth. “Oops, I probably shouldn’t have said that…”

Otto sighed. “I heard they found 2 of them, but they escaped through a burning forest. They’re your friends, correct?”

“Wow you really are prepared.”

Iris chuckled. "You always know how to lighten the mood." He took a bite of the bread and sighed. We'd better find a better place to hide, the Fire Kingdom soldiers could be back at any moment, and I don't think your base is safe anymore. Any ideas on where we can go?"

"I wouldn't either Vivus. If you're truly my friend, I trust you enough to not try to kill me. And I swear I will never try to hurt you as long as you do the same." He sighed. "I'm sorry for lashing out. I was just fed up and angry at everyone, and I took it out on you. I'm sorry."

Iris stared at Vivus and sighed. "You have been the only person that's stuck with me since the beginning, and you haven't tried to hurt me yet, so I guess I can still trust you." His eyes turned cold. "But if you so much as attempt to harm me, I will not hesitate to stop you."

"Yeah, but what about the others? I poured my heart and soul out to Lockwood on multiple occasions and now Kamado probably knows all of my emotional weaknesses too. Plus I doubt Lockwood actually liked me back. He was just lying to me so he could expose me to Kamado. And Moeruhime was my fellow fire elementalist, and now she's gone too. And I have no clue if Cedar is even alive or not!? And Lynx, well, he was there for me, but how do I know he isn't going to stab me in the back too." Iris looked at Vivus. "How do I know that you aren't going to stab me in the back either?"

"I don't blame you." Iris punched a still intact tree and left a scorching fist mark embedded in the bark. "I'm just so mad at everyone! First Lockwood runs off and joins back up with his evil grandfather. And now Moeruhime is related to Kamado too? Was there anyone here that wasn't pretending to be my friend?!"

Iris stared at Moeruhime. "Being silent was never one of your talents, but yet here you are saying nothing." he scoffed and turned away. "Tell Lockwood I say hello." he said coldly. He walked in the direction Vivus went.

"We're on one of Emperor Kamado's ships. We're still docked at the remains of Clearwater as far as I know. Kamado is still hunting for the other elementalists. When he finds the rest of them or he burns the entire island to the ground, we'll leave for the Fire Kingdom. You'll probably be thrown in prison or killed for treason." Otto said. He sat down again. (And ok, gn Green!)

Otto coughed again. "I'll be right back, pretend to be passed out again." Otto left the prison cells and walked down the hall, standing like the other guards in an attempt to avoid drawing attention to himself. He passed down a corridor and entered a huge room lined with medical supplies and medicines. Otto smiled and ran over to a cabinet. He grabbed a few Tylenol tabs and some headache relief pills. He snatched a bottle of water from a cooler as well. He shoved the pills and water in his jacket and returned to the jail cell. "Here, take these." he offered the water and medication to Cedar.

Otto looked around and coughed. "You sure? The med bay is nearby, I can grab you some Tylenol if you need it-"

Otto looked back at Cedar. "Hey, are you ok?"

Otto stood up right as the general walked in. “Otto, how is the prisoner?” Otto coughed. “Still unconscious, sir.” The general eyed Otto suspiciously. “I could have sworn I heard you talking to someone.” Otto shrugged. “I was just talking to myself.” Otto coughed again. The general sighed and wakes away. “Newbies” he muttered.

Otto chuckled. “I-“ he began to speak but was interrupted by the sound of footsteps. “Quick!” He hissed. “Pretend to be unconscious!!”

Otto looked down at his hands and then at Cedar. “How is it that we’ve only been talking for 7 minutes and you already know me better than most people.”
