  1. Woohoo! I didn't know about the Cracker Jaw thing, but I can't wait to see what my female Peacock-tailed creatures look like!
  2. Oops, forgot to put this in the 1.1.3 Bugs section!
  3. It's not that they're teleporting; It's just that they moved out of your sight/hearing/smelling range.
  4. Awesome! I always wondered what would be dominant if this happened!
  5. Today I loaded up a previous savefile where my tribe (or, in this case, Clan, since it's a Warrior Cats challenge) had just traveled to a new island. I moved them over to start clearing away grass and find food. I then decided to see where I should have them head and zoomed out to look at the island. I then saw a weird flower port with a river going through it and no stone that you use to travel, as you can see in the pictures below. Okay, well, now that I look again, yes, the stone may be covered in the grass. But that still wouldn't make sense- if it was in the tall grass, then the creature who activates the port won't be able to go, because the port tiles would be too far away. I'll update this when I get my creatures over there to find out if there's a travel stone or not. Anyone know why it's like this?
  6. @Feisty (Welcome to the forums, BTW!) Make sure you were connected to the internet at the time. Achievements don't get rewarded unless your connected to the internet, so next time you play on your savefile, make sure your connected and play with your tribe for a few minutes. Hopefully you'll get it!
  7. Same thing happened just today when I loaded up a previous savefile to see what changes were made to the new genes (now my only male with active peacock tail just looks gorgeous!), and as I played, I got some messages saying that i had unlocked new genes. When I first loaded it up, I had 2 of them, one of which would be for wings, but I have no idea what the other one would be. 2 more notifications showed up later on (not at the same time), one of which I'm not sure if it was a bug because I had just cracked open a coconut and I can't remember if I had already unlocked cracker jaw or not (it showed as unlocked).
  8. @Lillymoon25 If you need any more help, just watch the video that @Lilytuft put in the comments of this post.
  9. @Philo The problem with what happened is that my female got pregnant from the rogue male, then somehow the rouge mated with her again and she was suddenly un-pregnant.
  10. The Leech Koi (My name for this new, mystical aquatic beast): So... many... appetizing.. moles.. 🤤( why did that 3rd one just HAVE to face the other direction??!! The imperfectness is killing me..) (Also, look at those eyebrow patterns. Wow.) Bird Buddies!
  11. @Jojo @Lilytuft Gah, I'm only on day 58! Well, at least this fine lady joined the tribe!
  12. This could possibly be used to carry creatures 1 gem and under, too. It would give the Pelican Beak/Head a more useful gene. (If the baby was supposed to grow up to 2 gems while inside the beak of a Creature, it would simply not age -- like what happens when the Mother stays on the same tile as her baby)
  13. It's been a few weeks since I took this screenshot, but oh well. Anyways, as you can see in the picture below, a Clownkoi (No, Google, I don't mean 'Clownish') or whatever-they're-called apparently died of old age, then a leech went onto the same tile, resulting in a Leech Koi (as I shall call it). Please fix this! I don't want to see another Leech Koi ever again.. *shiver*
  14. So, just today, the YouTuber Seri! Pixel Biologist! posted a video where, in the beginning, as you can see in my picture, a creature (Bubble) is drowning, yet her head is quite far above water. I'm not sure if the effect just stayed after she went farther and returned, or the game just thinks that she's far enough down to drown, even though she's not. Hopefully this get fixed, whatever the problem is.
  15. The 'coconut tree; is called a Palm tree, and it, along with other trees, wings, beaks, and other really cool genes, have been added in the pre-release version. They drop coconuts, which work like Acorns, except if they fall on your head, they do 1 damage and stun your creature for a few days.
  16. Great... the few days this happens will be the same days I go to camp.
  17. @Jojo So.. the save's named 'as'? Also, Heatherbreeze is the same name as my Warrior Cats OC from a few years ago XD
  18. I suggest that the Toxcats would have an extra i in there, spelling Toxicat. It's a lot easier to say this way (It's also the name of my Fakemon, but whatever)

    Crash

I tried to open Niche from Steam and a window popped up saying that it had crashed. Here's the .log file (I don't know if it's from this certain crash or not, I know nothing about this sort of stuff): output_log.txt Here's the message I get: Edit: After a few minutes (and a few tries) it finally worked!
  20. @Dinocanid Well, uh... I guess you would just start over...
  21. So, I had an idea. What if I posted a new save here, and other people played it and shared what the Tribe had become? So I'm trying to make this happen now! This is how it works: (1) I share the save file. (2) People play it. (3) The people who played it share the save file here every 100 days in-game. (4) We all get to see how much the tribe changes over time by how different people play! For Example: If I posted a savanna based tribe, and then someone played it and shared it, and through their play style it's become a mountain-based tribe. So, here we go! Slot4.nichesave (I'll post my results too!) NOTE: THIS TRIBE IS ON THE RELEASE PREVIEW AND IS STARTED ON WHALE ISLAND, A RELEASE PREVIEW EXCLUSIVE FEATURE. DO NOT PLAY ON OFFICIAL RELEASE VERSIONS!!
  22. NOTE: I did not prepare any of these save for sharing. I just saw this post and put some of my current saves here. REALLY BIG NOTE: All of these tribes are on the RELEASE PREVIEW! DO NOT PLAY on OFFICIAL RELEASE VERSIONS! Slot0.nichesave: The Kikonoko Tribe! (My favorite tribe!) We have lots of immunities so it's been quite a while since there was a sick creature in the tribe Slot1.nichesave: 'Anchient Tales.' Yes, I know I spelled it wrong. Hopefully we'll be able to change save's names in the future. Anyways, we have Digging Trunk in this tribe. They started out on First Snow, but we were so cold so as soon as we broke the ice block, I sent everyone to the nearest port, which lead to their current island. I want to try and get all the snow genes (let me know if you get any more while playing on this save!) Slot2.nichesave: Adam's Story! This is my Tribe for trying to get to the Home Island. Plenty of Home Island Immunity here! We haven't gone very far, but I've kept track of every family member here. (NOTE: This looks very messy with unnecessary duplicates because the website goes crazy with them when I start breeding brothers and sisters together etc)
  23. @DinocanidYeah, the first time I ever played I got the Homecoming and Globetrotter achievements.
  24. This topic is gonna be about all our Achievements we're proud of (or sometimes not). This includes both in-game achievements (i.e. Adam's Curse, Ruler of the Savanna, etc) and things we've simply accomplished (killing an Ape, getting Wings, etc). So, let me start: On my favorite tribe of 24 creatures, on day 231, with many and many hours put into Niche, I finally got Adam's Curse. Oops. I was trying to protect one baby when the bird swooped in on another. At least it wasn't an important baby...
  25. Woohoo! Finally went to look for it and found it! I only realized that 'C:' is Local Disc until I looked at the Steam backups (I pressed a button on steam and it opened it up for me). I also found the crash files
