Place of the forgotten ones - The third era
Stranger replied to Lilytuft's topic in Roleplay section
'I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to frighten her!' Thief frowned. He felt a little guilty, especially because the nicheling seemed to be freaking out slightly. He really wasn't used to this. 'Well, this place is where you go when people... Forget.. About you. Right? So once you find your name, or so I've heard from other nichelings here, you get out. Then you'll go to Dukur. I'm sure of it.' Thief tried to reassure her. -

'Oh, bearyena were a nightmare. You had to constantly sleep with one eye open. And if you even caught a whiff of one, you had to leave the area immediately if you even wanted a chance at surviving.' Javai said calmly. He had a lot of nightmares where he just couldn't run or fight fast enough, and that was the end of him. Bearyena were awful. Everyone knew that. 'But yeah, there are no rules except the ones you make yourself. Never joined a tribe partly because rules never sat right with me.' He heard of what it was like in a tribe, the rules, the leaders, the lists. Javai hated it. 'I'm more of a free spirit.' He joked. 'But you can get that kind of freedom. Sure its, dangerous. Very dangerous. But it's also amazing. Only very extreme circumstances ever made me consider joining a tribe. Once your grown, you can leave your tribe you know.' Javai smiled wistfully. He remembered when he was a bit younger, and he had wished he could have been part of a tribe. He and Star back then would have been polar opposites. 'I think it's good that you grew up in a tribe.' Javai offered. 'You can grow up safely, and learn things. Then when your older you can leave, and have the freedom you want.' 'And about the dangerous places...' Javai racked his brains for anything interesting or useful to say. He wasn't used to long conversations with other nichelings, and didn't want to bore Star to death. 'Well near the burning volcano, I went there once, theres a tribe that call themselves the Kamji. They're a very small tribe, but they think that every year they have to sacrifice someone to the volcano. Strange really. At one point they wanted to sacrifice me, but I got out!' Javai laughed at that last bit. It wasn't hard escaping them. 'All I had to do was crawl into a hollow log and roll down the mountain. They couldn't catch me then! 'Actually, it was a miracle I didn't die.' He said under his breath as he realised only now that that was an extremely stupid thing to do. -

'Uh.. We're in a strange place you go to after you die. And everyone forgets about you.' Thief was never very tactful. 'I'm Thief, that's Sharp, and that's Nervous Brother. Silly names, I know, but they're only temporary.' Thief smiled welcomingly. 'You can come along with us if you like. There's a swamp down that way, we were just heading back.' Thief actually wanted to go further, but the others wanted to go back. And there was no reason in dragging a new nicheling away from the only safe place around here. Just then, he realised he forgot about the weird nicheling who kept throwing rocks. 'And that's uh...' He thought for a moment. 'I actually have no idea. Sorry. You never introduced yourself.' He apologised to her. He winced slightly at how rude that sounded. -
Bruh I didn't see this until now- But thanks, this is cool!

Javai followed Star, Star had a little more idea where he was going anyway. When Star asked why he didn't have a tribe, Javai shrugged. 'I was born outside one. Lived without a tribe all my life. Didn't really want to join one, too much hassle. But I guess I have to now.' Javai said shortly. He didn't remember his parents. He knew they cared for him when he was very young, but that's all. They question of who they were had plagued him since he was small, but as he got older he learned to push the question away. A few rabbils flitted past. 'It's very peaceful here.' Javai mentioned. Not like the coconut desert. -
I have a niche storymode playthrough on youtube but...
Stranger replied to Chiyanna's topic in Playthroughs
I started watching it, was about ten minutes in but then I had to go, so right now its in my watch later. The video looks interesting so far! -
Wow thank you! I've read some really good playthroughs on here, so thank you so much! Also ill let you guys in on a secret. I literally plan for the story when I'm at school, then I do no rough work, no editing or anything, and just word vomit onto a page. And somehow that makes a coherent storyline with interesting characters. Yeah I have no idea how it works either.

(wow OK I was going to put them together anyway but I didn't know so much people shipped them lmao-)

Javai laughed out loud at the fact that Star was trying to say that his name was odd. It wasn't a cold laugh like earlier, it was warm. 'It is an odd name, don't worry about it. And yes, you are very kind.' Javai couldn't help but smile at the strange nicheling. Once Javai heard that Star lost his tribe, he deflated a little. It would take a little time to find them. 'We can go find your tribe then. No reason sitting around in an open meadow.' He said, back to his usual serious self. Star asked why he wanted to join the tribe, and Javai bristled a little at the thought of being part of a tribe. But he had to do it. 'You know that nicheling earlier? The one who tried to kill me? Yeah, she's been chasing me since the deep woods.' He scowled. 'I'd like some protection against her, at least for a little while.' -

'I wonder what colour they were.' Thief was slightly unsettled by the fact he had already forgotten what colours things should be. He knew the sky was meant to be colourful, but he had no idea what colour. 'If you want to go back, go ahead. I'm sure there's something out here.' Thief said, determination in his voice. Thief glanced over. 'Well this place is suddenly crowded.' He said with surprise. 'Hello! Are you new here?' he called back to the other nicheling. 'See, we did find something.' Thief nudged the nervous one. -

'Still alive. For now.' He replied drily. But he took the fruit gratefully. As he ate, his wounds slowly healed, until the bleeding stopped. The whole thing left him feeling tired, but happy he was still breathing. 'Thank you again. You've saved my life, Star, I won't forget that.' Javai nodded towards the teen. 'I didn't introduce myself earlier. My name is Javai.' He glanced towards where the other nicheling had walked off to. He wanted to get as far away as possible. Or he could get the protection of a tribe? He hated tribe's, but if it meant he was safe, he'd join one faster than the speed of light. 'Star, do you have a tribe?' he asked. He was actually kind of surprised that the nicheling was out here by himself. -

'Well, let's go then!' Thief grinned. He walked ahead, making sure to keep an eye on the swamp. 'If anyone sees anything interesting, tell me please.' He announced. Anything out here could be a potential thing that could help him remember. But as Thief walked all he saw was fog. And moors. And some random bushes. He felt frustration growing inside him. Was this all there was!? (Wait I'm sorry I'm stupid we are going out to the moors) -

Javai was much too dizzy to argue. He lay down again, his breath coming in short gasps. Just stay awake. Concentrate on staying awake. He saw the other nicheling run off to find the fruit. Gratefulness welled up in him. Javai wasn't used to kindness from others. He grew up alone, lived alone, and would probably die alone. Javai was glad that the nicheling had a kind heart, to get a healing fruit for a complete stranger. -
Interesting indeed 👍👍👍👍👍

Javai shakily stood up. He used the leaves from his other wounds to stop the bleeding. He watched as the psycho walked away. 'Coward? I get what I deserve!?' He said under his breath. His wound hurt, but it wasn't fatal. 'Thanks for trying to help.' He said quickly to Star. 'This is why you never help other nichelings. All you'll get for your trouble is that.' Javai said bitterly, pointing at his wounds. 'I, I won't bother you any longer.' He said quietly. He didn't want to tangle Star up in any of this. 'Ill give you one piece of advice. Don't go near the deep woods.' He spoke quietly, and he swayed as he stood. He looked as if he was going to pass out. Javai always survived everything, but he wasn't so sure about that now. -

He flinched away again. 'Do you want to come or something?' he grumbled. He jumped down from the rock to be less of a target, and went a bit closer to Sharp. He breathed in and out to calm himself. No reason to get annoyed, some nichelings were just like this. That helped. -

'I have manners, I just don't use them!' Javai called back. But when the nicheling offered to share his food, Javai realised just how hungry he was. He limped over, his wounds still hurting. He didn't really like company, but he was hungry, so there. He dipped his head politely, and took the rabbil. 'Thank you' The other nicheling was small and loud, but Javai didn't really mind that. That meant the other nicheling could do the talking. 'So what's your name kid?' -

Thief smiled. 'Alright then! Are you coming?' he asked, turning to the nervous nicheling. Thief flinched, before looking her way. It was probably the first time he ever looked close to being angry. 'What do you want?' his tone came out sharper than he intended it to, so he repeated it more politely. 'And are you done throwing rocks?' he tried to joke and lighten the mood a bit.
