A dream was coming to Foliage. She was in a watery place, looking at herself in a mirror, but the other her was black with glowing eyes. "I don't have time for this" She hissed, but it was lost in the silence, tainted by the dripping in the distance. She started to walk away, along the mirror, from the black version of herself. It stood, frozen, in place as Foliage walked away. The darkness had swallowed it, and Foliage was walking alone, everything looking the same. An invisible force blocked her path. She turned around, around, around, until there was only walls around her. The water beneath her had started to climb up her legs. Foliage looked down, and suddenly felt younger, like a small child. It faded slowly, and she suddenly realised, she was surrounded by straight mirrors. She was reflected in all of them, black and sightless. She was sucked underneath, and she flailed for air.

"AHH!" She roared as she woke up, taking in deep gasps of breath. She breathed in and out, calming herself, and released her tail from the stem of the thorny bush. She sank down, relieved that it was a dream. Huh. My fur looks weird, Foliage thought, looking at the pieces of fur and skin on her paw. It was turning.... purple? Foliage realised how cold she was, as tears streaked from her eyes, freezing instantly. She wasn't sad, just... cold. She shivered and curled closer around the dead bush, shivering. She realized it was starting to snow heavily, and Foliage could hardly move. She passed out, breathing heavily, and mist exploding from her nose and mouth. Snow poured down, beginning to bury Foliage

(I was kinda hoping @YourLocalStrangerwould choose to save or kill me, but I'll just have foliage die. I need someone to go to the forgotten place)

Sometimes when I’m sad I do things to cheer myself up like reading a book or listening to music and then I just remember the reason I was doing it and the reason I was sad and I just become sad again

I know how you feel (although I don't do music I don't have a phone and I'm not allowed one for another 4 years but it's fine for me to have a computer (that's busted) and two iPads (both busted but I wasn't supposed to get one of them))

"I don't know why there's an added S in my name. Maybe my parents thought Shadow was too generic." Shadows confessed. His voice sounded a bit upset when he said parents.

"Also, how are you blue? The only blue nichelings I've seen had toxic body, and you don't look to have it."

    "Maybe a mutation?" Faith wondered

'It's called trying to be kind to and reassure a nicheling younger than yourself, even though you don't have all the answers. You probably wouldn't know what that is.' He snapped. 'Besides, wherever you go afterwards is surely better than here.'

"Its called lying and you can't be sure of ANYTHING in this place. Thats something, even YOU know" The spirit snarled and turned away to the swamp.

'Rational thoughts are rarely ever my first choice.' He said deadpan. 'Sometimes what it takes to survive isn't always rational.'

'Are we anywhere close to where you think your tribe might be?' he asked. They had been walking for a while.

'What?! How am I a liar!' Thief whisper yelled at her. He didn't usually feel angry, he usually tried to calm himself. Now rage sprung up in him because of those words.

"Your a liar because your LYING about going to the thingy she was talking about! You have no idea, no-paw!" She whisper screeched (also, i like translating words, gib more words)

'I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to frighten her!' Thief frowned. He felt a little guilty, especially because the nicheling seemed to be freaking out slightly. He really wasn't used to this.

'Well, this place is where you go when people... Forget.. About you. Right? So once you find your name, or so I've heard from other nichelings here, you get out. Then you'll go to Dukur. I'm sure of it.' Thief tried to reassure her.

"Oh great, now your a LIAR." The spirit hissed again. "Give me more words and i'll see if i know them" She hissed

  8. Ye so ye this. I posted some in meh home thread and its based off a steam game called cattails. (AND IM SO EXCITED FOR WILDWOODSTORY AHHHHHHHHH)

Skyseeker felt her whiskers twitch as a fresh drop of morning dew splashed onto her nose. The high roof of her well-woven den, the pampered moss bed underneath. It seemed the flat, rocky sand hadn't been touched for days, and it reflected her pelt's dim light.

Skyseeker peered at her pelt, which was a purple tabby colour. The stripes usually reflected her mood, which was content and amazed. Warm emerald greens and content cyans shifted together, a beautiful harmony.

Arching her back, yawning and stretching out her paws, Skyseeker stood up. Glassy leaves made a jewelled green colour of light over the floor of the small den. Warm, early-summer air washed over her. Not too hot, not too cold.

Slight cracks in the green thatch let in morning light, illuminating the dark room.

A soft beat of paws and the mews in the distance caught Skyseeker's attention. She gave her pelt a few quick licks to get rid of any scraps of moss, and she ducked out of the entrance.

Skyseeker gazed up at an elderly, fluffy, pale yellow tom. He stood handsomely but the grey flecks on his muzzle betrayed his age.

    Yay Bamboo POV

    Meanwhile, in Fire Haven…

    “Mom, I can explain!”

Bamboo’s mother simply stared calmly into the cave entrance.

    “You’re… not mad?”

    “Who was that, Bamboo?”

    “His name’s Tiberius,”

“Is he a Tring? Where’d you meet him?”

    “He is a Tring. Probably. I… Well…”

    “Say it,”

“I met him in the caves,”

    “You what?”

The Dandidoo suddenly shifted her gaze at Bamboo. “YOU WERE IN THERE?”

“I’m sorry! It was Raptor’s idea, I swear! He wanted to look for the stuff in legends again and we thought it could-”

“You should’ve known better! You could’ve died! If you’d gotten lost-”

“I didn’t get lost, mom! Tiberius helped!”

“I don’t want to hear it. Come on, I’ll lead you back to your room. You can stay there until I say you can leave,”

“Can’t I at least join in the song today?”

“No, Bamboo. This is your punishment for sneaking off to the caves without and putting yourself and your friend in danger,”

Bamboo paced in circles alone. Well, this wasn’t the worst case scenario. If her mother had known Polly was with them too, this could be a lot worse.

But still, there wasn’t anything to do anymore. There must be a way to…

She suddenly noticed the pile of parchment and bottle of ink, laying unused in the corner of the room.

Would a Candle Bat know where to deliver the letter? Could she write to Tiberius?

She’d have to ask Raptor. He was the smarter one.

Bamboo hesitated for a moment. She wasn’t supposed to leave her room, just as mother had said. But, to her, rules were made to be broken.

Seizing the parchment and ink, she burst through the door, running down a long corridor to find Raptor’s home. But she could hear the music outside already, he couldn’t have joined without her, right? He was one of the few to prefer not to join the song. Odd, especially for a Repatillo.

“RAPTOR! RAPTOR! RAPTOR!” She screamed, aggressively hammering her paws on the door.

Raptor opened the door and gazed down at her. “What in the Colossal's Name is so important for you to be this loud?”

“Oh, thank Galvana you’re not outside! Mom grounded me for going in the caves with you,”

“Yeah, I’m here because I had to watch Polly and I wanted to stay and keep reading… wait, with me? It wasn’t my fault! I would never break any rules!”

“Yeah, yeah, it was both of us, ok? But, anyways, I saw Tiberius again! He came here! It's how mom found out we went in there,”

He stared at the items grasped in her paws “And let me guess. You want to write a letter to him?”

“Yeah, I was gonna say that!”

“Hmmm, I suppose you want it carried by a Candle Bat… they can understand some stuff in Monstrous, mostly names of monster species and locations, and any names they learn… it won’t have met Tiberius, but if we tell it to take the letter to the Trings in the caves, it might understand. They have good enough senses to find where Tiberius and the other Epic Trings are. I think they’re Epic Trings, right? If we already know how the rare ones look,”

“Good! Ok, you have the brains, I have the fingers. So I’ll write and you tell me what to,”

“Why are you even writing to him in the first place?”

“He’s our friend now, isn’t he,”

“Alright… I see. Okay, I think he could meet us at the same cave entrance you saw him at, right?”

“Maybe. Wait, I have another idea!”

    “What is it?”

“When I met him he said Epic Trings like him could to this mind control thingy. He could mind control us so that he knows where we are and we know where he is!”

“It’s a bit of a stretch… but if the mind thing is true then it could work! Okay, write this…”

“Okay, finished. I have some coins to pay Aloe. Come on!”

The pair sprinted to Aloe’s desk. The Floogull still sat there, surrounded by dozens of chirping Candle Bats.

“Hi Aloe! Can you get one of those to deliver this?”

Aloe grabbed the letter, staring at it suspiciously. “Directions?”

“Deliver it to the Trings in the caves,” said Raptor.

    “Trings… in the caves?”

    “Yeah,”

“What?” Aloe stared at the monsterlings, confused. “There’s nobody living in the caves,”

“We’ll give you lots of money!”

Aloe sighed, accepting this nonsensical rambling as just children being children. “Fine, hand me the coins,”

Bamboo placed a small pouch of coins on the desk, hoping it was enough.

“This is… more than enough. Alright,”

He tied the letter to a Candle Bat’s leg, and opened a hatch that led to the outside of the castle.

“Number Five, Deliver this letter to the… Trings living in the caves,”

The critter nodded, hopping through the hatch and flying off into the distance.

Shadows noticed a flash of blue. Is the bluebird that attacked Oak back for more?

He peeked out of the den, and realized it was just a nicheling flying around. Phew. They still sat at the entrance of the den to watch for real dangers.

Oak was sleeping, unmoving. "Who are you?" She asked in her dreams. The black version of her seemed frozen. It was wet but in a peaceful way. Darkness crowded in from everywhere, and there was a dripping noise, somewhere far away. She couldn't hear herself, only the tapping of her paws as she quickly ran along, what seemed to be glass separating her and the nicheling. Darkness had swallowed the void nicheling, and as Oak ran, she could see another black-with-glowing-eyes version of her running underneath her, staring sightlessly ahead. Oak slowed to a halt, looking around, feeling cold, scared and alone. She walked, feeling something invisible in front of her. Oak walked, confused, to the right. The wall was there, too. The left? A wall. Behind? up? All sealed off. Oak felt her stomach sink as the ooze started to climb her legs. There was straight mirrors on every side she could look, every one containing the black version of her. Oak let out a soundless wail of fear as she plunged into the depths, sucked under the quiet waves of water.

Oak woke up and shrieked as she gasped into life, panting, checking for the world around her. "Where..." she started, eyes wide and wild.

    -

Faith saw the blue flash as well. Huh. Didn't know nichelings could be blue before. She spread her wings, preparing to join them, but froze as she remembered Oak. Oak... her thoughts mumbled. A loud, childly shriek, echoed from the den. Faith rushed inside to confront oak as she panted inside. "Oak!" Faith went pale. What happened? She looks terrified!
