This is boring Toxicodendron radicans thought, starting to pace again

(yes this is boring please do something interesting)

You heard the sound of something breaking, and noticed the cockatrice had broken one of the bars of their cage.

(You have no idea how much I love them)

Toxicodendron radicans watched the cockatrice carefully, still scanning the other cages

Multiple creatures were half-heartedly trying to escape, while others were sitting emotionlessly in their cages.

Toxicodendron radicans sat next to the cage, scanning all the others as well

A cockatrice in a cage next to the hydra was scraping at the cage, trying to break it or something like that.

(also if you don't know what a cockatrice is it's basically a rooster dragon thing)

Toxicodendron radicans mainly ignored it, but watched them carefully

The faerie continued using magic, exhausting themselves but managing to make a tiny crack in one of the cage bars. "At least it's something..." They said under their breath.

Toxicodendron radicans looked around for anyone else trying to escape

A faerie was trying to use magic to open their cage, but it was probably magic-resistant, as they failed. "How are we supposed to escape this, with all the security they have..." They muttered

"I told you he was a pain in the [redacted]" Azure smirked at Calix. He just rolled his eyes. "Where are you taking me? If you wanted to kill me wouldn't it just be more efficient to not go through all the trouble of this elaborate scheme of yours."

"Who ever said we wanted you dead? We need you for leverage." Azure chuckled as Emerald flew closer and closer to the prison.

Emerald landed on the floating island that the prison was on, looking around.

“Wha-“ Lyric blinked, a bit surprised that the dang submarine could fly as well.

"Human technology. Wild." Pearl said, shaking her head as they soared over the city, landing on a helicopter spot on one of the buildings.

Calix's eyes drifted from the dragon to the two mermaids perched on her back. His face shone with exasperation. "Now, if I didn't know any better I'd say you were stalking me. But since you just can't seem to get me out of your head, enlighten me. Why are you here again, after you so clearly told me you never wanted to see me again."

Azure thrust her fist down and grabbed Calix by his arm, Indigo grabbing the other. They dragged him onto Emerald's back and tied his wrists together with some twine. Azure just smirked. "You just don't know when to shut up. It annoys me. So we're going to pay your little boss a surprise visit."

"Oh lord, what now..." Calix muttered under his breath as Emerald soared into the skies again. "Why aren't you just killing m-" Calix tried to ask, before Emerald slapped him with her tail, making him wince. "I just met you and I already want to boil you alive." Emerald hissed.

"I don't have a family. I don't have friends, either" She said, clearly not caring "They could do much worse things if I didn't help them"

"How are you alive if you don't have parents-" The hydra shook their heads. "You don't seem to care about morals, from what I've gathered."

  10. I wrote a thing about one of my nichelings (might make her the goddess of survival tbh)

Dapplia looked at the ports in front of her, their swampy reeds swaying softly in the wind. She was supposed to continue her great-grandfather Blaze’s legacy, continuing onto another island on her own, possibly finding a mate, and starting a tribe in this new place. But the problem was, she already loved someone here on this peaceful archipelago. She let out a sigh. She heard pawsteps behind her, and turned around to see Burn, his reddish fur sticking out like a sore claw against the lush grasses of the island, his signature smile on his long snout. But this time, it was a little sad. Burn sat next to Dapplia and put one of his paws on top of hers. “I…I want you to know that…no matter how far apart we are, and how distant we may seem…I’ll always love you, Dapplia. Even if you move on and find another nicheling you love, and have more kits, and raise a happy family without me…I’ll still love you, and if we both go to heaven, if it exists, I’ll be there waiting for you, even if you forgot about me, even if you don’t love me anymore.” He said. Dapplia started to tear up a bit. “Me too.” She said, not wanting to talk too much while crying. Burn nodded and nuzzled up next to her, and a small smile creeped onto Dapplia’s snout as they both sat there, looking sadly yet excitedly at the swampy ports in front of them. Dapplia heard a rustling in the grasses, and looked back to see her father Albo, smiling softly. Dapplia smiled right back.

Dapplia slowly stepped towards the ports. Her stomach churning. This swamp would be different from everything she had experienced in her life so far. She had heard the tales of sleep-inducing swamp bugs (though her sticky tongue could help with that), thorns everywhere, and poison berries as the main food source. She was always an adventurous spirit, but it wouldn’t feel as good without Burn by her side. She looked back again to see Albo and Burn watching, looking proud but also a bit sad. She took another step uneasily. She looked back again. Burn smiled. “I’ll always love you.” He whispered. Dapplia nodded and turned back to the ports. She hopped on without hesitation. She looked at the stone on the port for a few seconds, before looking at Albo and Burn again. “Goodbye. You’ll always be in my heart.” She said, before pushing the stone on the port. The port began to drift away over the vast oceans, little waves splashing onto Dapplia’s paws. She waved to the both of them before turning back to the front as the swamp slowly began to come into view.

Dapplia sat in her nest as she looked down at the little brown bundle of fur under her. She was still traumatized by that sudden leech attack. She had lost a lot of blood. But nothing would scare her now. The undying love that a mother had for their child shined in her eyes as she looked down at her son. Her first child with Burn, and unfortunately, her last. She would name him tomorrow, she was far too tired. But as she drifted off to sleep that night as the little nicheling began to mewl quietly, she knew one thing for sure: She would protect him with her life. He was the only thing she had left of Burn. It was her duty.

"But do you know why they're doing this? I want to see the result, and being with the humans is much more interesting and less life-threatening than being with my own kind"

"They're doing this just to benefit themselves. To make potions out of our fur, feathers, scales, and other parts. It's so stupid..." They hissed

(sorry it took so long I was typing something else)
