She decided to grab a pretty big rock and throw it at the propellers of the helicopter
The helicopter shifted its focus towards you. A hook stretched out from the bottom of the copter and shot towards you. You started dashing away, but the copter was on your tail.

Azure began screaming and pounding on the cage. It was too small and the water was too cold. Her tail and arm had been bandaged where she had been shot, but the cage didn't help with the fact that she was still cramped. Her tail was uncomfortably shoved in with her, which took up most of the space. Her noise must have been realized, because soon the same jerk who had taken her showed up, along with two other grumpy looking humans. Azure glared at him. "You're a [redacted], you know that? You think you're so high and mighty because you're a human and you have those fancy guns and armor." She began mocking him with her hands. He just smiled.
"Can't hear you. Glass." He tapped on her cage. She glared at him even more. "Now shut up before I have to knock you out again." And with that, him and the two other guards left. She began pounding on the cage again, but gave up after some time, sinking to the floor of her box.
A chimera in another cage next to you seemed to be inspired by your ferocity. They roared, ramming their goat horns against the cage and shaking it. One of the humans walked in and pulled out a taser and tased them, shocking the poor thing. "Stupid creature." The human muttered.
"Man, this is such a hellhole!" The chimera growled, their snake tail twitching angrily.

Calix walked towards the injured mermaid, who was inching towards the water. He stamped a boot down on her injured leg, and she howled in pain. He smirked, and looked up, being met by the icy cold glare of another mermaid. He raised his gun and shot at the water, causing her to duck under. He turned back towards the girl he had captured, and was met with a blast of salty water. Calix spat a few curses, and felt the girl wiggle free from his grip. He opened his burning eyes and shot his gun again.
---
Azure's arm exploded in the same white hot pain as before, and she screamed. She was bleeding even more, but she tried to ignore it. She was so close to the ocean. Just a few more steps. If she could just touch it-
The man grabbed her outstretched hand firmly and stepped back on her injured leg. Azure thrashed and fought, kicking with her unharmed leg, but it was no use. The man was too strong. Her vision was going blurry, she had lost too much blood and her adrenaline burst was wearing off. She looked up and saw the man smiling.
"A mermaid. Hm. They said you'd be hard to catch, so this ought to be worth a promotion."
The last thing Azure remembered was being lifted off the ground, and the cries coming from Indigo.
(Perfect, because so do I)
"Azure! NO!" Indigo screamed as you were lifted away....
You awoke in a water-filled cage. Other cages were near you, with all types of other creatures. Griffins, unicorns, pegasi, pheonixes, faeries. dragons, chimeras, jackalopes...it was like a packed prison, but with innocent creatures rather than criminals. The cage next to you held a unicorn, with a stub where its horn was supposed to be. It shot you a small, sad smile, as if saying "I'm sorry you're here."

As Calix pushed past a tree, he was met by the sight of what he had been looking for. There was a cluster of creatures standing in the clearing in the middle of the forest, about five of them. They looked human enough, but Calix knew better than to make that assumption, as no one gathering plants in this place was human. He slowly began to move towards the group, careful to not draw attention to himself. Two of the creatures were hugging each other, and two others were sorting plants they had collected in a basket. The lone one was talking to the girls that were hugging. His attempt to hear what any of them were talking about was ruined when he heard a loud crack under his foot, and all five of the girls turned to look at him. He only then noticed how beautiful they were. They all had long flowing hair that was braided with sparkling gems and... shells? There eyes were shades of blues and violets, and their skin seemed to glow in spots. Mermaids... he thought in awe. Although they weren't in awe at all. All of their eyes were filled with fear. One with long brown hair turned towards the group, whispered something, and then all of them started running towards the right. Without hesitation, Calix sprinted after them, his gun brandished.

"Quick!" Azure threw herself at the beach. She watched as Indigo and the others swam further out, dashing into the kelp forests. She was almost at the water. Man I am regretting skipping those morning runs with Kai. She thought. She was so close. She could see Indigo at the surface, her face etched with fear. She began sprinting, and her thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang. She fell to the ground. Pain shot up through her leg like hot fire. She glanced back and saw red staining her left calf, and the smiling face of the man who was standing in the woods nearby, his gun smoking.
(sorry this is so long)
(no its alright I love descriptive stuff)
"Azure!" Indigo shrieked, her head bobbing above the water as she watched from a distance, Marina clinging to her arm. She shot a hateful glare at the human.

I looked down at the humans and squawked angrily at them, my feathers shifted to red and I flapped my wings, trying to scare them off. "We have to go! Who knows when they will start climbing this tree and take us?" I looked back at my mother.
"I can still try to fly..." Mom began to spread her wings, when a human armed with a anesthesia dart gun stepped out from the crowd. "Don't worry, I'll deal with the birds." They said, beginning to take aim...

1 minute ago, Valkcake said:
"He better be, or the humans will definitely pay." I muttered. My feathers changed fully back to normal and I curled up besides my mother
(I probs have to go now)
You and your mother curled up and slowly drifted off to sleep.
You woke up the next morning, and looked down to see a crowd of humans gathered at the base of the tree. They looked shocked, mesmerized, afraid. "Those stories Grandma told me pheonixes about are real!?" A little boy shouted. "Oh, no..." Your mother frowned. "It's still hard for me to fly..."

I looked around, slightly frantically, then I noticed a small grove of trees, it wasn't anything special, and the humans could have certainly invaded it, but the trees were tall and could easily hide a Pheonix or two. "Over there, maybe." I flew over to the trees, they was taller than they looked, and there were no humans in their leaves.
Your mother slowly drifted into the tree, curling up into a flaming feathery ball. "I hope Pyro's okay..." Your mother said, looking out at the industrialized human city with misty eyes as she covered her wounds with leaves. (Pyro is the dad)

Panic flooded Azure's body. She turned to Indigo. "Run. Now." Azure didn't care that he looked sympathetic, she had seen what the humans had been doing to other creatures, and she didn't want to end up like them. She picked up the hem of her soaked dress and bolted off towards the water, her bare feet stinging as she raced over sticks and grass.
Indigo dashed for the water and dove in. (I'll let you control what the human does)

"Mum!" I cried, my feathers slightly turning pink, but I quickly changed it back to blue. I saw the wound my mum had and yelped. "I- I'm not sure where we are going..."
The two of you flew over a large human city. You noticed Mom slowly started to get weaker. You needed to get her somewhere where she could rest. "Are there any isolated places around?" Mom said weakly.

7 minutes ago, Heather Chandler said:
Azure shrugged. "We could wait until there are two of them alone. If we attack them by suprise we can take them before anyone notices. Besides, if our plan fails we can always dive into the water and they'll have no hopes of finding us."
Indigo nodded and the two of you continue to creep along the outskirts of the grove. Finally, you noticed Marina, looking around hopelessly and worriedly. As soon as she saw you, she dashed towards the two of you. "I thought I was lost and the humans were gonna get me!" She said as she hugged Indigo. "Shhh! You'll attract the-" Indigo tried to stop her, but you heard footsteps nearby, and saw a human. This one wasn't armed like the rest, however, and had a glint of sympathy in his eyes.

"MUM!" Lavender's feathers fully shifted to a red, but quickly changed to blue as she realised the helicopter was about to grab her. She shot into the air, embers flying off her wings. Her feathers became more clear, and became a lighter blue as she flew away, hoping her mother would follow, and she would not get caught
You flew off for a few minutes, until you heard wingbeats behind you. You turned around to see your mother. She was alive, thankfully, but injured and panting, with fresh, fiery blood dripping from her wounds. "Where are we going to go now..." She muttered worriedly.

Azure sighed as she slipped the dress on over her soaked body. Her bright blue tail had disappeared and in its place was a pair of legs, freckled with shimmering scales. She helped Indigo to her feet. As they hid in the bushes, Azure saw tons of humans racing through the woods, their feet shaking the ground. "We have to somehow get one of those uniforms, otherwise we'll be taken like everyone else..." she whispered.
"How are we supposed to steal one without being noticed? Maybe we should just try to sneak around and make up an excuse if we're found..." Indigo said quietly, beginning to crouch.

They sighed, and it's wings shifted to a blue colour. "Ok..." Lavender sighed. When I get the chance, I will burn those humans to the ground.
You were both getting ready to fly off, when you heard a mechanical whirring. A helicopter was right behind you, and it already had a hook outstretched to grab you and your mother. "Lavender, fly! I'll distract them!" Your mother said, dashing around the helicopter to confuse the human in it.

3 minutes ago, Valkcake said:
"NO!" I shouted, my feathers shifting to a fiery red. "We can't! We have to get him back!" I cried. I stamped my feet on the branch in anger. My feathers started shifting back to normal.
"Lavender, it's dangerous! The humans could easily catch us and turn us into ingredients for a potion! I know you love your father, and I do too, but there's no choice..." Your mother said sadly.

'Right. I'll do that.' I say. Once they're out of sight I immediately turn and change into a falcon and try to fly away. I look around and notice many others being chased by men with guns. I needed to get out of here.
You fly into the skies, dodging the whirring blades of helicopters as the noises of chaos from the grove slowly become distant.

She nodded, her eyes floating towards a concealed area of leaves. Swarms of humans were approaching the ocean, brandishing their guns in an intimidating way, ready to strike down any creature they found. "We have to go, now. Ready?" Azure asked an unsure looking Indigo.
"Yep." Indigo said nervously. You both quickly hauled yoursleves up onto the shore and made a mad dash for the bushes before the humans saw anything.

"what the?-" She said quietly. She dove to see what this was about
The helicopters were snatching mythical creatures from the ground and the sky. Everyone tried to scatter in different directions. You noticed one of your friends, another harpy named Aella, was being chased by a helicopter.

I nodded in agreement. "The woods are close, so we could hide in a bush or something. The only problem is finding one close enough to not be seen going to."
(same)
"Maybe we could try to push ourselves up as fast as possible and hope we aren't spotted." Indigo said.

I popped my head out of the water and looked around. There were humans everywhere, all wearing the same uniform and carrying large guns. A few larger humans were yelling at the other humans, and they all went scurrying off in different directions. I turned towards Indigo. "How do we sneak out? They're everywhere. It'll be hard to pull ourselves out of the water without being noticed, let alone change." I clenched the cloth dress I had grabbed tightly in my fist.
"We could try to swim around the grove until we find an area that's not super crowded." Indigo said, looking around
(gtg for a bit)

I nodded. "She's your sister. You would do the same for Jade if he went missing. Besides, we need to find them before the humans do. Even though they look human enough, I doubt it will fool the others if they're dressed in their robes."
Indigo took a deep breath. "Alright." The both of you swam back up to the surface. Helicopters still whirled around in the skies, so you tried your best to keep a low profile.

"I've heard they want to use our powers- and also use our scales, feathers, or fur in potions and stuff like that." The chimera growled. "I just wish we could be at peace with them like long ago...but of course they betrayed us. You can't trust humans."
