Lyric hesitated before he swam towards it and slammed the trident into it, trying to destroy it.

“I don’t think they can… but who knows.. you can never be too paranoid..” Lyric smiled nervously and curled up on a rock, as if trying to take up as little space as possible.

The human was armed with water-resistant gun. He aimed it at you and shot. You yelped in pain as blood started dripping from your arm and dissipating into the water. Pearl screamed and grabbed your hand, dashing towards the kelp forests. Thankfully, the human lost the two of you.
"Oh my god...Are you alright, Lyric?" Pearl said, dabbing at your wound with kelp to try and stop the bleeding.
Lyric was shaking slightly, too shocked to speak or move. “I— I think I’m okay..”

Another mermaid swam over frantically. She had blonde hair and a pastel yellow tail. "Swim deeper! The humans are starting to swim!" As she said that, a human in a scuba suit dove in and started swimming after her. "SWIM!" Pearl shrieked, dashing into the deeper parts.
Lyric frantically followed after Pearl, desperate to not get caught.

Lyric was tense and ready to flee in the humans started to try to swim to get those hiding.. luckily he was pretty fast underwater. Lyric let go of Pearl and looked away sheepishly.

Pearl rose up the surface, took a peek, and immediately swam back down. "They're everywhere...one wrong move and we could both be captured." Pearl said cautiously.
Lyric pulled Pearl close to himself and squeezed her tightly, not wanting to be left alone.

The humans didn't follow. Othet mermaids and mermen panicked and scattered. A friend of yours, a mermaid named Pearl, swam up to you. She had light brown hair and a snowy-white tail, and a necklace of pearls she always wore. "Lyric, what are you doing just sitting there!? We need to swim to the deeper parts!" She fretted.
“I know- but I don’t do well with stressful situations” Lyric practically squeaked as he spoke. He was visibly almost frozen in fear.

You noticed a trident in the sands underwater, most likely dropped by a fleeing mermaid or merman. You pulled it out of the sand and it was bigger than you thought. It looked like something straight out a fantasy book.
Lyric hesitantly spun the trident around in his hands before he tried mustering up the courage to go up and fight, failing miserably. He wasn’t one to fight, he usually hid from the danger and honestly was pretty much a golden retriever boy.

You were swimming peacefully near the shore of the grove, when you heard strange sounds. You looked around to see humans invading the area, armed with guns. They seemed to be attacking creatures and putting them in cages....What was going on? How had humans found the grove???
Lyric calmly (Not really) panicked and glanced around frantically, trying to find something he could use as a weapon, although he wouldn’t be very mobile on land and he was more of a pacifist anyway.
