A minimal version of this will be in the next update.
You can make sandbox settings with custom Nichelings and send the settings over to other players.
No unique genes like Animal Crossing though.

How it works:
You can choose how long each age level is (baby, child, teen, adult).
And you also get a damage multiplier if you want your Nichelings to live longer, but still take significant damage from attacks, hunger etc.

We are currently implementing a very basic version of this.
You will have a file in which you can add color codes for your gems.

This is a problem that only occurs when having played on the preview branches.
So we are considering it fixed for now ^^

Thanks for reporting.
As far as I know, this only happens if you started the save file with versio 1.1.0, 1.1.1 or 1.1.2.
For everybody who hasn't played on the preview branch this problem should not occur.
So, I'll count this as fixed
(We also made the system more solid for future versions, so this shouldn't happen again with new versions.)

This is intentional.
It was clipping through some of the ears so we put it like this.
