The hairs on lynx ears have a hearing boost function IRL, don't they?
18 hours ago, BirdsAreCool said:Not gonna lie, I don't see why the tufted ears should add any attractiveness at all. They should definitely add to both genders though, seeing as there isn't a difference between male and female lynx's ear tufts irl
@magpieI don't know, I've never heard about this. Do you know anything about how they do this?
I did hear that the hairs do that but not in any kind of scientifiq article so I am not 100% sure either, but for Niche it would be a nice addition anyway

I think it is a great idea, especially story wise. Handling sick Nichelings really isn't that difficult (not even the females, you can have the male move in on the baby and the mother away = baby save and mother doesn't get anybody sick) and when you have a purrsnout Nicheling around sick Nichelings can live almost as long as normal Nichelings. Also I think it is very useful if you are indeed worried about loosing home island immunity but of course you run the risk of having it spread to much.
I think it is smart in a story way and in a gameplay with story and survival especially useful. So yeah as an experienced player I think it is a good and easy way to keep a desired immunity gene

Aesthetically, i never liked beak, water body or gills. I prefer my nichelings to keep their "mammal" feel. I do like platypus, though.
Webbed paws are also annoying.I don't mind water body but I get what you mean though. Oh yeah the webbed paw isn't great either (and in my opinion almost as useful as crippled paw)

If you could have any fictional person as a friend or companion of whatever nature, who or what would it be?
UH there are so many it is painful! I'll go with Steve Rogers or Captain America from the recent MCU mainly because I would certainly enjoy his company in a intelectual way as well (the first that came to my mind were Thor and Loki but both of these are kinda mixed bag in reality so Steve is the best middle option)
Q: Are you letting of wild fireworks for new year or is it more of a silent celebration where you live?

I don't like cracker jaw and beak. Just because they look odd not because they do anything. I am no big fan of the looks of heat body but it is crazy useful on the long winter island so I kinda have to keep it around. I don't like lean body because it doesn't add strength and I hate accidentally having a Nicheling that has no strength and can't do anything. Oh and I am no big fan of gills either.

(I haven't even started yet...
I won't be able to do mine today, because it's my birthday. Hopefully really soon though!)
So should I post mine or will you do it still?

Central.
For a second there I thought you were kidding me because I didn't believe that there would be such a generic name for a timezone and then I looked it up. Well I am learning all sorts of new things about time zones recently. ^^

I dont think animals get sick from eating their own kind, unless that other animal has some sort of disease or bacteria on it that its not immune to. As for humans, I think you can get mental sicknesses from eating the brain, otherwise I think most of the body other than that is safe to eat....idk.
This video may help?
If you cook the meat it is fine as well. I looked it up when the discussion first started. Raw meat is always pretty dangerous for humans, so human meat is no different there. I am pretty sure there were (maybe are) some human cultures that probably practiced cannibalsim. It is just not our moral standard right now

And finally for now, crossing water. Watching Jessimew's Adam's Quest gameplay, I saw when crossing islands in the Archipelago, some Nichelings took one drowning damage where others took two, with no water genes involved, so my question is, when moving in the water and you don't have water breathing, what exactly triggers drowning?
I think that one is a bug. At least I haven't been able to figure it out (while some body types certainly drown at different water hights, I guess you are talking about two normal body Nichelings go into the water and only one takes drowning damage)

Welcome to the forums. Don't worry about your grammar. The devs themselves aren't native english speaker. We don't care. Hope you have fun

I actually like Derp Snout, my least favorite snout is Cracker Jaw, especially with ram horns.
I don't like cracker jaw either and beak

I really hope you named redpaw redheart, I had a nicheling called redheart once (and then redstar!) and he was one of my favorite nichelings
Edit: I.just looked In the family tree and he is redspeckle lol, that is also a good name
I use a random generator so I almost never mess with the names, except when a Nicheling dies to soon or was great in another way and I feel like I have to honor them somehow. So if Plumstars daughter Whiskerpetal had a child that looks like Plumstar I might name it after him

My pantheon just grew in todays play sessions. I really love this guy.
Plumstar (Plumspring)- big, white male with a huge pitch black almost racoon mask, purr snout, green eyes, double runners leg and swimming tail, he was sick due to having double home island immunity. God of determination.
He was ambitious and had a high sense of morals, always believing in himself and greatful when others gave him a chance. He was born into the reincarnation of RiverClan, first under Softstar who gave him a good mentor and proper training and then later as deputy under Hollystar who trusted him to lead her clan. He never thought he’d get this far, which made him very humble but he was also never ready to ever give up. He was almost bursting with pride when he got his first apprentice a healthy young male named Redpaw and later he was proud and ready to train a young tom who had the same sickness as him. At that point he was already deputy. And when he became leader he was the first to leap into battle, not afraid to offer up his nine lives to his clan even though he would live shorter than them and was already sick. His clanmates loved and appreciated him.
hm! bugged niche so hard i can see the framerate!

Seeing the framerate has nothing to do with bugs. I have a key on my keyboard which turns it on and off (though I always forget which key it is) ^^
