  1. Control The Genes of Wanderers- Since we have to ability to customize the nichelings that we start with, I was thinking about a mode where you could customize the wanderers as well by setting a list of genes that can appear. You want most of your wanderers to have big nose? You can do that. Want to rid those webbed hindlegs that seem to always curse your tribe? Boom. Of course, you wouldn’t be able to change a rouge’s genetics, but it would still be cool to find wanderers with customized genes.
  2. Actually, instead of playing Niche, I've just been stalking the forum to see if the devs released a sneak-peek of the new update. 😅
  3. Maybe the head would allow you to howl, which you can do at a tree stump, just like calling. Instead of attracting a mate, however, It could scare off larger predators and rogue males, or decrease the spawn rate of them for a short amount of time. Also, I personally think that the smelling should only be +3 smelling, since the big nose is canine-like and only gives you +3 in that stat.
  4. I think this combined with shaggydogo's suggestion of finding pregnant wanderers would be amazing! Very cool idea!
  5. Just some random Idea I had. What if there was a herbivore snout that allowed you to convert some of the grass (nesting material) into food? Of course, the snout would not give you food every time you cleared the grass. It would probably have the same chance of finding food as you would nesting material. How I think it would work is that instead of collecting nesting material occasionally, the nicheling with head would collect food instead. I drew a snout based on a Llama that I think would work well as the snout that had this ability. (please excuse the sloppiness of the drawing, I made it really quickly). Also, as I side note, I would imagine that the color of the teeth would follow the horn color gene. The stats could be +2 smelling, +1 collecting, +1 grass eater
  6. A fun challenge I thought of when I was pondering how the new sandbox would be like. Basically, you customize your starters to have the worst stats possible: -normal snout, two no paws, short-sighted eyes, no horns, lean body. Basically, Your end goal is to specific groups of nichelings that all descend from this starting pair: gatherers, warriors, healers, scouts, etc. You are not allowed to invite wanderers in until the fifth generation of nichelings, unless the tribe is in a desperate state for mates. The penalty for inviting a wandering nicheling before the fifth generation mark is that you have to put a negative trait in their mutation menu. Let me know what you guys think of this 😊
  7. Maybe it can be a separate type of rogue male called the aggressive male. They would act like normal rogue males and mate with your females, but it would also attack unattended babies. I could see them appear on harder islands
  8. I think that it would be cool for a spit head (Squid Beak?) that could stun an enemy for a day. I would probably have a cool-down on so you can't spam it on apes or killer bearynas (unless it's along the lines of being an ancient gene, which would make it hard to get). The stunned enemies wouldn't attack and wouldn't move, even when being attacked themselves. It would also give your nichelings an opportunity to flee from an ape or a rogue male.
  9. This is something I was thinking about for awhile, and I'm surprised that no one else has suggested it. I really enjoy the diversity of all of the types of genes and gameplay that Niche offers, and it would be fun to see what the modders could to make it even more diverse. I very much enjoy the big updates that the game gets, and that Stray Fawn Studio holds a poll for what features should be introduced into the game, and I also know that not all the features suggested will be able to be implemented into the game. Modding would be a great way for fans to add in the features that they want into the game.
  10. Nichelings with flowing manes? YES PLEASE!
  11. I really enjoy your idea! ^^ I think that the progression of the Rabies could be a little slower. for the first three days, the nicheling could lose one energy to their total amount of energy left. they start off with three energy the first day. Then it decreases down to two the next day, and it keeps decreasing until the nicheling has a day with no energy, as if it had used its turns for the day. On the fifth day, it would "banish" itself from the tribe and start attacking its tribe mates. However, if it get to a healing plant before they lose all their energy, they can be cured.
  12. From what I saw in the promotional material for this game, I noticed one picture showcased nichelings with different pupil types (I've included the picture in this post for reference) . I was thinking that it would be a nice addition if nichelings could mutate different pupil types. It could either be purely aesthetic, like the nicheling's eye color, or the pupils could have some survival advantages. For example, the slit pupil gene could make sight better in darker biomes, like the swamp, Cephalopod eyes would increase sight underwater, etc.
  13. Ah Man, they looked so cool. Oh well, I shouldn't be too upset considering how amazing the support for this game is! Keep up the good work!
  14. I was wondering if facial hair on nichelings is still planned to be implemented. It did say that if the "Bearded Beaver" got enough backers, it would be in the game. However, I'm not sure if it managed to reach its goal. Does anyone know if it has been confirmed for the game? Thank you for your time Here's the link to what I'm referring to, btw: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/80250451/niche-a-genetics-survival-game/posts/1589166
