Well with a simple background you can focus on the character. Was the hand holding the axe meant to be drawn like that? it's good but if they are holding like I assume shouldn't the thumb be on the other side? 1

Not really the left one is just meant to be held up in front of the axe but perspective is difficult. 1

That's a lot of time. i think time spent on something shouldn’t be a reflection of effort or quality because you can create amazing things in shorter amounts of time! but yeah that is a lot of time- i usually spend a lot of time on digital art, I think the longest i’ve spent on a peice that i’ve finished was like 7 1/2 hours 1
