Applesauce
The first to walk upon the island is the small one from the east. Hungry from a long journey she sniffs for food. With her stubby snout she snorts the air creating a horrid wheezing sound. Nothing but an old root. She breaths out with a nasal whistle.
Applesauce
Next is the larger female from the west. Unlike the other side, this side of the island is full of things to eat including a handful of roots. She gatherers until she can gather no more. Than she eats.
Applesauce
And finally, the one from the south. A pale furred female with two large ears. One could say almost rabbil-like. 4
Applesauce
She like the others starts into the island. There she finds a nice rock to curl down by.
Applesauce
The next morning all three wake to the sound of soft rain. The little one finds a bush teeming with purple berries. She plops down in the wet grass and starts chowing down. Unfortunately composition is close. Good thing nature prepared her with a set of horns.
Applesauce
For the female one a stag-mole sits not to far away. She prepares to pounce when she smells a Mr and Ms mama and papa stag mole also not to far away. Not wanting to murder someone's child she looks for food else where. 4
Applesauce
The paler nicheling is drenched by rain. With no shelter in sight she huddles near a berry bush.
Applesauce
Thankfully she doesn't have to endure for long. In the morning a warm sun beams and our big eared gal and after some wondering she finds a nice dry nest. She hops in, enjoying every bit of warmth that she can. 5
Applesauce
When suddenly a little head pokes out of the grasses. 'Hey missy why so close to ma berries?' The little one spits. 'Your what?' 'MY B-! Say... I've never seen a rabbil of your size.' 'I'm not a rabbil.' 'Whatever you say missy.' 'It's Daisy.' 'Ok. I'm Nina! Are you a local?' 'No, just a traveler.' 'Same! Well, I'm lost, but a traveler no less!' Daisy is taken back by this youngsters attitude. And the fact that she's lost makes Daisy feel a sense of pity for the girl. After all, she too would be lying if she said she knew where she was going. 'Well than, why down you come with me?' 'With you? Where?' She looks around and suddenly notices the huge and only tree on the island. 'How bout the tree? I bet they have nuts there.' 'What tr- Oh wow! Sure, I'll split them with you 70/30.' 4

Applesauce
'Hello.' She says to the stranger. 'Well hi.' He replies. 'I'm new here.' 'I'm a local. Name's Leo.' 'Baba. I came from the hills' 'The hills? I've always wanted to visit there.' Baba looks at his bright fur and skinny build. 'You'd probably get eaten. Where do you live?' 'Oh by the tree. It's a big one, the only one on the island. I'll show you!'
Applesauce
By sunrise each pair is wide awake. Daisy and Nina still don't know about the tree's homeowner, so Daisy collects berries whilst Nina keeps the rabbils away.
Applesauce
Meanwhile a little ways away are Baba and Leo making their way to the tree. 'There's a lot of fauna around here.' Baba says. 'Yeah to bad I'm not much of a hunter.' 'You live alone?' 'No actually. I share the island with a friend. She might come around if were lucky. Lady likes to steal my berries.'
Applesauce
At that moment they arrive at the tree to see two strangers sitting at Leo's tree. 'Is that her?' Asks Baba pointing at Daisy with a fistful of berries in hand. 'No... uh.... who are you guys?' Leo is confused. Daisy steps off the rabbil den. 'I'm Daisy, this is Nina...' Nina grimaces at the new nichelings. The thought of sharing her food makes her sick. 'And we were just passing through. What about you?' 'I live here.' Says Leo. 'Oh, I'm so sorry if we'd known we won't have stopped.' Baba steps closer to Daisy. 'They're nice. Far from home too.' 'Do you live here too?' 'No. Just passing through.' 'Weird. We usaully don't get visitors, let alone three.' Leo says. 'I suppose you can stay, we have plenty of food anyway. I'm Leo.' 'Baba' Baba says.
Applesauce
After acquainting themselves with their host, Nina and Daisy head off to the tree for a snooze. Soon Baba joins them. These new people fasinate her. Leo, out of hospitality, sleeps by a rock. Quite the gentleman. 4
Applesauce
At dawn, the tree leaves Nina the most prepious gift. The nut. She's so excited she closes her eyes to saver the moment. Then in a flast she grabs up the nut and blots off into the grass like a wild little squirrel, leaving Daisy and Baba very confused. 4
Applesauce
'I don't know, she was like that when I found her.' Daisy says. 'Is she lost?' Baba asks. 'Yeah. Thats what she told me.' 'Are you lost?' 'I'm traveling.' Daisy tells her. 'Why?' 'Enough about me, how'd you come upon this place.' 'I get it. I left too.' The larger female says. Both sit in silance for awhile. A natraul, quiet silance.

Applesauce
In the evening Baba meets up with Leo. He seems pretty excited to have a new friend to hang out with. He wants to take her down by the shore to see if there's any fish. Cold reality. No fish. But thats ok, sometimes there's fish, and mostly theres not. Baba doesn't care about the fish though. Instead, the thick-furred nicheling hops into the water. She can't remember the last time she took a bath. Leo shouldn't expect any fish the next few days.
Applesauce
Meanwhile Daisy gets lonely by the tree. She goes to find Nina surronded in a grove of berry bushes. 'Hey little one. How it going?' 'Great! I've got a stash for days!' She exclaims. 'You've been pretty nice so I'll consider sharing.' 'Thanks,' Daisy says, genually suprised by Nina's offer. She still doesn't know if she should ask about getting lost. She seemed unfazed anyways. If something was seriously off she probably wouldn't be like this. Although she is curious... They spend the rest of the afternoon eating berries and napping.
Applesauce
Come morning, Nina takes Daisy down to the beach. 'We used to hunt for clams back home. My brothers always said I looked like one. Those dodobirds.' Suddenly a strange smell catches Daisy's attention. 'Hey, do you smell that?' Nina snorts. 'Clams?' 'No something... flowery. Let's check it out!'
Applesauce
'But the clams!' Nina begs. But it's too late. Daisy runs off, led solely by her nose. Nina waddles behind. Who know, maybe there will be clams? Suddenly Daisy shouts, 'A jungle port!' 'A huh?' 'I've herd stories of these, some good, and some bad. Either way I loved them!' 'Oh! Those places with snow and ice yeah?' 'No! Quite the opposite actually.' Daisy corrects her. 2
Applesauce
'A jungle port.' Baba says 'Oh yeah, that's been there for ever. Never dared thought of using it. Haven't you herd the stories?' 'Some are good.' She takes another look at Leo, 'I think you'd fit in there.' 'Really?' 'Yeah. Bright colors, right shape. I've herd they have lots of fish.' 'Oh nice.' 'And you're not much of meal either. I'm sure the monsters would leave you alone.'
