start with one female, age 12 days old, you can give her any genes you want EXCEPT a cursed gene of your choosing. Needs home island immunity

Everytime a nicheling is born or invited use this generator https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/214535915 to pick which gene to put in their mutation menu, the second slot can have any gene you want

exceptions:

if a nicheling has "perfect" genes, both slots must be filled with random mutations. Recessive genes, normal fertility, deformed paw and cosmetic genes except no pattern are not counted

Deformed paws cannot be purposefully mutated out

The cursed gene cannot be mutated in unless chosen by the generator

Ranks:

alphas:

Leader- Role is passed down to the current leader's closest blood relative with HI that doesn't show the cursed gene

betas:

Grass clearers- Their clearing of grass helps protect the tribe from unseen predators. Grass clearers usually have deformed paw and it is a honor to be in this rank.

Defenders- They are the first line of defense against bearyenas, bears, apes, dodomingos... they're meatshields

Hunters- They hunt and gather food for the tribe

Caretakers- Take care of children and pregnant nichelings. Usually tribeborn.

Rankless- Teens, children, newcomers, nichelings stripped of their rank and creatures that haven't yet decided which rank they would like to join.

Omegas:

Cursed- Nichelings who display the cursed gene, are sick or had a sick child (latter two depends on leader)

Traitors- Nichelings that failed their duty (bluebird taking child that a caretaker is watching, predator killing nicheling despite a defender being there, hunters failing to gather food for 3-5 days, grass clearers not uncovering a threat) or betrayed the tribe (murder, hiding plants and nests). Tend to be banished at the edge of the territory after 5 days. It depends on the leader wheter they are stripped of their rank or deemed traitors, though rankless nichelings will always go in this rank. Confessing may lighten the punishment. Traitors MAY be allowed to become betas again

rules:

mother must stay on a nest on the last day of pregnancy (can't attack, nearest nest or make one) and until the baby grows their first gem. Getting pregnant during this period could cause the mother to die.

Sibling pairings are not allowed by the tribe unless numbers are low (I mean, if they are subtle...)

Name all nichelings unless you really like their generated name

Masked nichelings are more likely to find mates

All nichelings must have some personality traits (use a generator if you need help)

Non-defender nichelings can only attack if there isn't a defender in a radius of five tiles or they are a mother protecting their child (caretakers can always attack if a child is in danger). Cursed can always attack because no one cares.

 

Chemistry system:

This is based on the Sims 2 system. For every nicheling, roll two genes they consider attractive and one personality trait. These will be their turn-ons (if another nicheling has one of these their chemistry will be higher). Then roll one gene and one personality trait that the nicheling will consider unattractive. These will be their turn-offs (chemistry will be lower). Chemistry is ONE SIDED which means a nicheling could have a +3 chemistry with another nicheling who has a -2 chemistry towards them.

Genes not allowed to be picked:

Hemophilia

Normal blood clotting

Pattern size and density

No albinism/melanism (since you cannot roll for albinism and melanism)

Any genes that aren't showing (ex. Beige stripes hidden by no pattern)

Eyesight

Look for close relatives, if no one in the tribe has it you don't have a leader anymore. Might be  game over
