The kit looked at you and smiled at your purring. She reached down and scratched behind your ear.

Midnightfur looked concerned.

Shadownight and Starkit stared at you from where they sat next to the fresh-kill pile.

And you saw Moonstar staring at you from the cliff.

Skykit's mother and Lunarowlstared at you from next to the nursery, while Lunarowl's kits played.

All the other cats stared at you from where they sat from chatting with each other.

Constellationkit was embarressed snd utterly confused, had nobody seen the cats except her? Maybe I imagined them... but Constellationkit had never thought up such an elaborate thing before, let alone had it play out before her very eyes! Her tail lashed as she looked down at her paws breifly.

Celina was used to the taste of the water. Sure, she'd like to find a stream somewhere but there wasn't one available this minute.

She looked over at Shadownight, then back at you with pleading eyes.

"Tell her I'm here.. And I always will be.." Your mother mewed, fading completely into thin air.

Celina picked her up.

Constellationkit was sad to see her mother go, but was filled with new determination. She knew that what she had seen was dreadfully important. And real. Even if she was the only one who had seen it. She had to give Shadownight her mother's message. But not so all these other cats can hear...

"Yes," she immediately responded. She didn't want him to think something was wrong with her. Then she wondered if she should share with him what she had seen. Surely he would believe her, right?

Sleepy and Cotton were already asleep.

He led the way over to the medicine cat, who Starpaw left alone for unknown reasons.

"Shadownight," Midnightfur dipped his head to the dark-furred she-cat.

"Midnightfur." The medicine cat responded.

With her kits asleep, Celina's mind turned to the discoveries of the day. And the poor cats who caught food for Pallet while their own bellies were empty. She wondered if she could've done more. But her kits needed her now, she couldn't return to that place.

Celina couldn't fall asleep...she couldn't sleep in her comfy safe house curled around her kits while they were out there getting beat up and starving to death.

It sounded a little like Amethyst.

The ungroomed she-cat with unusual blue eyes was, in fact, crouched on the fence.

Celina meowed for her humans to let her out. If she could get out this window it would be great.

The kit came out of her room.

She looked so sickly. She also looked tired.

Was she not sleeping?

"I'm sorry, Lunarowl, but unless I have Birch Leaves, I can't help her.. And you can only find those in the forest below.." Shadownight mewed.

Lunarowl didn't respond.
