Sokonia, Magic Academy of Nichelings - Magic System

The magic system of Sokonia Academy is something you need to know, especially if you roleplay as a teacher.

Each of these is also a lesson!

Spells

Subject Teacher: None Yet

When casting a spell, everyone has a different coloured magic, often having something to do with what the colour represents. It glows brighter the more powerful the spell. Here are some basic spells.

Utility Spells:

Incenull - Used to instantly make any fire, magical or not, to vanish. 

Glovi - Casts a ball of pure light that stays for 10 seconds to 10 minutes, then disapears.

Augid - Casts Water

Echuus - Can reveal a hidden sound, like one too high-pitched to hear.

Levitaegra - Causes targeted object to levitate.

Curimae - Weakens the symptoms of a disease, used often by the school nurse.

Diviitus - Used to make future-seeing crystal balls work.

Combat Spells:

Evictulus - Blasts target straight upwards.

Corrupindo - A spell not taught at Sokonia, it causes the opponent to have dark thoughts as a distraction. If done right, it can even gain control over someone.

Pesti - Causes awful itching and a leech-like feeling.

Immolenus - Quickly stiffens an opponent.

Holturo - Creates a pit for the target to fall into.

Potions

Subject Teacher: None Yet

In Sokonia, potions have all sorts of rules for which are allowed and which aren't. For example, a Tranquility Brew is allowed to be taken before an exam, an Exilir of Healing can be consumed if sick or injured, as well as in dueling lessons. 

A few potion examples:

Tranquity Brew- Gets rid of guilt, anxiety, stress and simmiliar. To brew: 5 fresh jungle leaves, 2 bluebird feathers, a scrap of defender bear fur, a small shard of Amethyst, to be brewed in a small bottle of water from the cleanest river on the grounds.

Exilir of Healing - Can heal injuries, and diseases if good and strong. To brew: Shard of Dodomingo beak, Milk of Coconut, Juice from the fruit of cactus, to be mixed in a medium amount of water from a cave.

Mindseer Potion - This potion is tought to the oldest students in school, and banned from grounds except during Brewing Lesson. It allows a glance into the current thoughts of a chosen Nicheling. To brew: Blood from each Ape, a thorn, a pawful of flies from the swamp, a snail shell, and a scrap of fur, claw, ect of the targeted one.

Enchantment Detection

This is known as a 'magical science' - it is used to detect whether a discovered artefact is magical or not, as well as what magic it has. Here are a few:

Crystal Reactor - A crystal on one side of the scale, the artefact on the other. If the object is magical, it will connect to the crystal with a beam and suddenly weigh the same amount.

Feather Shaker - Determines the Darkness of the magic. Fully dark magic is illegal, fully light magic is legal everywhere, and the grey areas are legal/illegal depending on the purpose/location. You simply place the artefact in the shaker with a feather, then leave in there for ten minutes, shake at the two-minute, five-minute, and seven-minute marks. The colour of the feather when you open it determines the magic's lightness.

Mushhear - This sensitive mushroom-like detector can see the exact spell that was used on the object, simply GENTLY touch the artefact with the cap, and it will whisper the name of the spell used.
