Casual Story-mode Playthrough [discontinued?]

Recommended Posts

I got bored so I'm going to make a very casual storymode playthrough. No real plot or characters, just explaining what goes on mostly, with some images. Maybe a LITTLE bit of story but idk. This may not last long but let's see.

Starting soon!

Gem Color Key
Green = descendant of Adam, has HII. If we have no green-gem creatures, we've either failed or randomly give HII to any descendant of Adam. If this happens twice it's an auto-failure unless I'm desperate
Yellow = descendant of Adam who doesn't have HII
Orange = descendant of Adam who doesn't have HII and who can only breed once max, due to unfavorable genes
Red = descendant of Adam who has HII but can only breed once max, due to otherwise unfavorable genes
Blue-green = unrelated to Adam
Blue = unrelated to Adam; can only breed once max, due to unfavorable genes

Adam finds himself stranded and alone on a dark, swampy island - nothing like home - after the bird that swooped him up drops him there.

He gathers berries from the convenient nearby bush and heads inland. He's already gotten his third gem by the time he reaches a flower port on the opposite end of the island. His gems are green, signifying that he has Home Island immunity. Adam leaves the swamp without looking back.

It doesn't take him long after arriving on this new, flowery island to find a beautiful female named Eve. Her beak isn't ideal, but her genes aren't dreadful, and both her snout genes (dominant and recessive) are recessive to Poison Fang, which means most (if not all) their offspring will have it! She's one day older than Adam, and her gems (will be) blue-green, meaning she is unrelated to him.20210617125505_1.thumb.jpg.1a24b4d53018a07660e2321e171efe6d.jpg20210617125839_1.thumb.jpg.3e6be84c50ac2f123da679ffdc600ff6.jpg

They soon fall in love and breed. Eve goes to a nearby, convenient permanent nest and gives birth to their first son, Kirro. His genes are good; normal eyes, despite Adam and Eve having recessive shortsighed and blind eyes respectively, nimble fingers, stripes, and home island immunity! He'll have green gems like his father to show he is descended from Adam and has home island immunity.

Their next child is born, a daughter named Fiakoko. She has recessive short-sighted eyes, and lacks HII; however, she is compatible with Kirro, so they could breed if absolutely neccessary. Adam is hunting a Rabbil (which he successfully caught) in the background. Since she doesn't have HII, her gems will be yellow - meaning she's descended from Adam but doesn't have HII.

The small tribe decides to move to the next island, so they gather on the port, getting ready to cross the sea...

Their new island is still small, but not tiny like the last one. It also has a very helpful permanent nest right at the port, so Adam and Eve immediately breed and Eve heads into the nest to give birth. The next day, Tadun is born! He's quite pretty, although sadly lacking stripes and with recessive blind eyes; he does, however, have HII, meaning his gems will be green.

More to come soon.

Adam and Fiakoko move inland to an oak tree, where Fiakoko can collect nuts and Adam can collect berries from the bushes nearby. Meanwhile, Eve gives birth to their next child, Lael. She has HII, so her gems will be green. BTW, there's now a gem color 'key' in the first post explaining what each gem color signifies, so check that if you are confused on any gem colors.

Soon another child is born, this time a male, Tuduk (not to be confused with Tadun!) Tuduk has no HII, so his gems will be yellow.

Adam and Eve breed again. This time, they have TWINS for the first time in this playthrough! It also rains on this day, so it's a double-lucky day, since two children are born and the berry bushes regrow with lots of new food. :) The twins' names are Melen (female, left) and Rotunu (male, right); both have HII, so their gems will be green when they are older.

Adam and Eve are growing older, but decide to breed one last time, to have their EIGTH child!! Her name is Rafi, and like most of her siblings she has HII, giving her green gems.

After this, Adam and Eve's children prepare to leave the island, but their parents will stay behind. Unfortunately, as Tuduk reaches the port (being the first to get there), a Bearyena is heard growling in the bushes. It darts out and swipes at Adam and Eve, but doesn't actually hurt them and immediately vanishes back into the grass. Adam and Eve decide to go hold the Bearyena off so their children can escape, having only 3 and 2 days of life left respectively. (This made me a bit sad, to be honest..)

20210617133850_1.thumb.jpg.e3f3d24f604a54f1ad314a83b19fc35f.jpg

Finally everyone reaches the ports while Adam and Eve prepare to confront the Bearyena. This is the last picture I have of them, and because we leave the island before going onto the next day, the fates of Adam and Eve are unknown. :(

Tuduk prepares to take the first step off the island where he and most of his siblings were born and onto the stepping stones between here and the unknown.

The new island is so huge I had to photograph it in two parts, but welcome to what I assume is the Grass Adventure island!

20210617134244_1.thumb.jpg.e02274bca85463dc127a292bf365a0b4.jpg20210617134238_1.thumb.jpg.195d879fc7dbf746ee7103c6f45e065b.jpg

Everyone heads through the grasses, Taduk leading the way. They discover a permanent nest almost immediately, but ignore it; soon they come onto at least two more nests and several berry bushes.

20210617134513_1.thumb.jpg.fa76b498e0b008d2e1bebc4d47c3e882.jpg

Rael smells a wanderer in the grasses and invites him in! Meet Donnu. His genes aren't amazing (deformed paw + recessive blind eyes, ugh) but he does have ram horns and is compatible with all of our females, both his immunities being new. He gets blue-green gems.

20210617134630_1.thumb.jpg.1215c3ca54921132de2c5105789937dc.jpg

Fiakoko, being the oldest female, decides to breed with him. (I will be honest, I totally forgot she didn't have HII, oops.) Also I just wanted to point out that there are in fact 4 permanent nests and 4 berry bushes in this one area... Anyway Fiakoko has her first two children with Donnu. Nonu, the eldest, has no horns, recessive blind eyes, a deformed paw, swimming tail, AND no stripes; all this gives him orange gems.

20210617135140_1.thumb.jpg.758ba96b7d6b853599d80bf787bf97c7.jpg

His little sister Isre, however, has better genes; although she also has no horns and swimming tail, plus having Spiky Body, she has one nimble fingers and one digging paw - both useful - along with stripes and normal eyes in both slots. She also has recessive Poison Fang, which I want to keep around. Due to this, her gems will be yellow.

20210617135155_1.thumb.jpg.1e5e5dd6b984533bbc1730f3a5326b24.jpg

That's where I left off for now. When I return I'll probably breed Donnu to another female who actually has HII at least once, and keep up the search for wanderers. At least HII isn't a huge issue right now, as a lot of our Nichelings do have it, but none of them have passed on these genes yet. I'll (hopefully) be back later to continue this.

OKAY, this is probably discontinued because I have another playthrough coming up. I'm probably about to post the first part in fact.

But I might make another story-mode playthrough that actually has more story in the future because I realize now that I actually HAVE to have story in my playthroughs or I get bored. So, yeah.

But keep an eye out for the new playthrough, coming soon! :)

So true! Story makes something that would otherwise be boring fun. And my mind is constantly making stories whether I like it or not! Im sad this playthrough is being discontinued but I'm excited about the new one. Goodluck with it!

Yep, exactly.

And thank you! I'm not sure if you've seen already, but I've actually posted the first part/chapter of the new playthrough – it's here! :)
