The Frog Challenge

In this challenge your nichelings are frogs, (amphibians).

Set-up:

Island: Start on any island where there is water. I would suggest one with both shallow and deep water; plus, rivers and ponds as well as ocean.

Lifespan: The baby life-stage is considered "eggs", and should be 3 days long. The children are considered tadpoles and this life-stage should be 7 days long. Teenagers are considered froglets and this life-stage should be 10 days long. Adult, (or frog), should be set to 62. Pregnancy duration is 1 turn.

Multipliers: The predator damage multiplier should be set to times 20, all other multipliers should be set to times 3, (including healing)

Genes: Each frog should have either gills or water body somewhere in their genes. Forbidden genes include: wings (both kinds), prehistoric genes, and bearyena genes. Fertility, immunity genes, hemophilia, eye type, and gender of your frogs should be randomized, (or you can pick these if you want to have an easier time).

Diet:

Frogs do not eat plant matter, so for this challenge your nichelings cannot eat berries, roots, or nuts. They prefer insects (including worms), but will also eat small fish (the regular fish-fish, not razorana), and rabbils. They will only occasionally hunt stag-moles and clown-koi if starving, and there is a chance the stag-mole or clown-koi will deal damage to them whether or not they're successful (50% chance, roll a die or random number generator, use niche commands to give them 2 damage [damage multipliers automatically apply, do not give them predator damage]). Also, frogs only eat live prey and will not collect heaps of meat lying on the ground. They don't scavenge.

Response to predators:

Frogs will run away. They will not even attempt to fight a predator in order to protect another frog. If they themselves are being chased and are cornered or cannot get away without being hurt by running/swimming, they will finally attack, but can only use one of their moves to do so if they have a strength of three or more.

Eggs:

After mating a female must lay eggs (give birth) in the water. It can be in shallow water if they want, but most water-breathing females will go deeper into the water to lay them. After laying the eggs (the baby is born) the female will abandon them there. If you want, for easier difficulty, you can have the father come care for them since in some species of frogs the male cares for the young. You may have some male frogs that do, and others that don't. If the baby nicheling/egg doesn't have gills or water body you may use the changegene command to give them gills. Write down/keep track of their normal genes, however, they will get these back later.

Tadpoles:

Tadpoles have only one move and are constantly vulnerable to the bird (which simulates the different water creatures that eat frog eggs and young in real life). However, you can add +1 food to your food supply for every two you have as they filter algae and eat tiny critters for themselves.

Froglets:

If any frogs were given gills to breathe underwater as eggs, they now gain their old genes back. This is because froglets actually develop lungs. Those who had gills or water body can keep those genes, though. Froglets must remain in the water, so those without gills and water body must be in shallow water to not drown. Froglets no longer generate their own food and must pull from the tribe food supply or catch their own, likely in the form of fish. If they are out of the water even for a second you must give them 1 predator damage or 8 non-predator damage, whichever you prefer. Each turn they stay on land gives them 10 damage (multiplied by multipliers=30 damage).

Adult frogs:

Adult frogs can be on land, but they must come back to the water every 8 days to revitalize their skin. They can be in shallow water just for one move and that will count. If they do not do so, for every day they don't use commands to give them 1 damage (which will be multiplied by 3 automatically and most accurately can be said to be caused by drowning).

Other challenges:

Since frogs don't live in groups, you could keep track of each nicheling's food seperately.
