She didn't think she'd need socks at the moment.

She closed the top drawer and opened the second.

(what are you looking for exactly? it would make more sense storywise if you knew what exactly was in each drawer)

She looked through them.

T-shirts mainly. Some long-sleeves. Some taintops (i just realized I don't know how to spell that word...). No sweaters though. Your winter clothes were in the closet in a box. At the very bottom of the drawer there was a box of jewelry.

She grabbed the jewelry box, and placed in on top of the dresser.

She closed the second drawer.

She looked through the jewelry box, careful not to break anything.

It had been given to you by your best friend Patricia. She hadn't said where she had gotten it. A week later she disapeared. She told you not to show it to anybody, least of all your parents. In it was some bracelets and eerings, you didn't know enough to know if they were genuine. Some of the pieces were inscribed with letters. Some had gems. And one odd locket which you didn't have the key to.

Besides what Patricia had told you, the one time you had worn jewelry your mother had called it impractical and taken it away. She said there may be "useful materials" in it, though it was costume.

She decided not to wear any in case her mother took it away again. She put it back it the second drawer and went to her bedroom door.

"Time for morning chores!" called a voice from the hall.

"Alright!" She called back.

She walked out of her room.

Her mother stood there in the hall, face as blank as ever, "You should probably unload the dishes first."

"Yes, ma'am!" She replied, going to do as she was told.

You went into the kitchen. The dishwasher was next to the sink. You needed to unload the clean dishes from it.

She opened the dishwasher.

There were clean dishes in it. The top half had mainly bowls, and the bottom half had mainly plates.

She started unloading it and putting dishes away.

"When you're done with that, get ready for school," said your mother.

Once she finished unloading the dishwasher, she went back to her room to get changed.
