You have to woo the wild bearyena by putting a nicheling right next to it overnight. Then that nicheling will be able to breed and will be protected by the bearyena. Also don't tame bearyena or you won't be able to breed wild ones. And wild ones have better genes! Why does my mermaid tailed nicheling take damage underwater?
