Name: Sqewk

Appearence: Birb with endless colour variations, and silky feathers. Many also have patterns, and it is possible to tell them apart from each other; no two Sqewks with the exact same pattern exist.

Diet: Herbivore mostly but can also eat meat if food is scarce. in extreme cases, cannibalism may occur

Habitat: Jungles, forests

Abilities: Mimicking and memorizing any sound they hear, hanging from trees upside down, making their feathers as FLOOFY AS  H E C C

Behavior: They are a very curious species. As a defense mechanism, they peck. It may not sound that bad, but believe me, you don't want to get pecked. Many Sqewk's sleep schedules differ, while most sleep during night, some are nocturnal.

Sentient (yes or no): no but highly intelligent

other: When they hatch, they are a pure white, and gain colour over age. (The colour depends on the surroundings and diet, but also gender. (Males are colourful while females are slightly more pale)) Hatchlings, as stated above, are a pure white. Babies, who gain temporary fluff, are very pale, with only a small amount of colour. Adolescents start to gain a bright colour, and young adults are the most bright; after becoming older, the colors get darker; some extremely old ones are black!

Oh and their lifespan is roughly 50-60 years

Hmmm

since a plant is technically a living species, you could modify the species form e.g removing 'sentient' and 'behavior'. A lot of plants in a fantasy world would still have abilities, like healing properties or stinging stuff like nettles. Habitat would just be where the plant grows.

Species

Name: Dmitrisean

Appearence: Varying, constant traits are black hair/fur/feather and bright eyes. They are shapeshifters.

Diet: Omnivore

Habitat: Currently in a Tundra

Abilities: Shapeshifting, slightly stronger than a human, usually good at magic (last one can be omitted, just adding all there is)

Behavior: Dmitriseans usually stick to two forms: Birth form (the one they were born as obv) and True Form (the one they create for themselves and makes them most comfortable). They get very angry when the two forms are mixed up. The forms may rarely be the same. They usually live in sibling pairs and tend to stay away from other relatives.  Dmitriseans are long-lived and hard to kill.

Sentient (yes or no): yes

Population: 17~

I forgot to add that they can have fertile offspring with basically any sentient species because...

...

...

There's 17 of them and they're probably cousins
