She felt cold

It still hurt

She wanted to talk about it

She needed to talk about it

But she couldnt

The spirit knew that she shouldn't ask about this, but it was painfully obvious something was off. 

"Are you ok? You seem really upset all of a sudden...." 

Suddenly, another flashback. 

Other nichelings with similar platypus beaks, water bodies, and fin tails, cornering Dari and insulting him due to his differences. 

"Hey! Stop that!" Came a voice. 

It was her (the spirit). 

"What are you gonna do, whippersnapper?" One of them said mockingly. 

"I'm gonna stop you bullies!" She said as she lunged at them. However, she was easily pinned to the ground. 

She was about to be torn to shreds when the other nichelings was knocked off of her. Dari was on top of the bully. He scratched them and chased them off. 

"Thanks, Dari." She said. 

"You're welcome!" He smiled sweetly.

The flashback faded away. "Dari...He protected me..." She whispered to herself. "Sorry, sorry, it was nothing." She said as she realised she was back in the strange realm.

But their paw made no contact with the lights, and soon they shifted,  turning away from the spirit. Hey!  Come back! 

They let out an annoyed yelp and walked after the lights. What are these lights? What is this...communication going on in my head?

The spirit felt tears welling up in her eyes. What have I done? I'm so stupid, I chased off one of my only potential friends...No, you can't cry. 

She tried to hold it in, but she let herself. Tears streamed down her face. I'm too emotional, I'm such a baby. 

She wiped away her tears and started going back to where Fangs and the other nicheling were.

The spirit was flying away and landed in a tree.

Another flashback... more vigorous...

Pain

Pain flared as she was thrown to the ground

Clanmates

Young ones like her

Teasing her

"You never should've been born"

one yelled

it faded away

what am i...?

she asked herself

She curled up

she fell asleep

She was dreaming

Someone infront of her

multiple someones

"Your alone"

rang a voice in her head

"you always will be"

it echoed

She awoke, feeling guilty

"I NEVER shouldve been born. Ive proven that many times over. Like with that other spirit. Now im alone. I always will be.

She flew out of the tree, and down on the ground

she started to wander, unknowing where she would go

How long had she been walking for? an hour? more?

Would Quacktail forgive her? Would she never have a friend again?

If she ever had one?

She saw the flow of water and stopped

it happened on the other side

she froze

and just stared t the water

waiting for anything to happen

She'd stay there as long as she had to

even if she died there
