Mother Duck and her ducklings were peacefully swimming in the river, their nest in clear view by the bed. All of a sudden, a strong current swept through the river, carrying the young ducklings along with it, separating Mother Duck from her hatchlings. Unable to do anything in that moment, Mother Duck watched with a broken heart. She searched and waited by the river for her duckling’s return, but it seemed it would never come. 

Will Mother Duck and her ducklings reunite?

Will Mother Duck give up on her ducklings return?

What other tragedies await Mother Duck and her ducklings?

Will they make it home?

Mother Duck was paddling her way to the shore, where the nest laid next to the river, a small fish in her beak. 

Your siblings stumbled to the edge of the nest, where Mother Duck waited with the fish.

Your siblings were bigger than you were, not by much, but they were still bigger. You could be considered the "runt".

Mother Duck waddled into the water, letting herself float as she paddled out into the center of the river, your siblings still following her obediently. 

You followed behind slower than them, but followed behind nonetheless. 

your siblings stopped a short ways behind Mother Duck, assumably to she can hunt; and so they can learn.

There wasn't anything to catch. You began to panic, unsure of which way was up or down. 

Luckily, Mother Duck noticed and nudged you upwards, towards the surface.

She waited a moment before diving down, resurfacing with a small fish in her beak.

Your sister, on the other wing, aced it. She dived down and surfaced with a fish, smaller than Mother Duck's, but still a fish.

you were almost to shore when the wind picked up harshly. the water began to splash wildly, it didn't help that your siblings batted at the water as they were trying to pick themselves up into the air.
