BirbMonster Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 A while ago, I made some silly little worm-like adoptables, and a perchance generator for them. The Cool Worms. Now they are being rebooted as a proper species, with lore and some limitations for making them. Yeah. Cool Worm Lore In the year 2430, human scientists decided to conduct some genetic experiments involving worms and a multitude of other animals. The experiment was a sucess and they created Cool Worms. Of course, the real name is much more scientific. But there was a running joke from someone's kid going in the lab and saying "Woah! Cool Worms!" so that just stuck as a running joke. Cool Worms could be very easily genetically modified with little to no limitations, though they all have the distinct long, worm-like body and two front legs dragging them along. But the experiments got out of hand. The Cool Worms grew EXTREMLEY intelligent, with reports of them communicating in a complex languege, solving problems even some humans wouldn't be able to, and even... understanding the science humans were talking about? There were too many of them. They began appearing out of nowhere, ones the scientists hadn't made popping up, constantly escaping the lab, being found throught the country and a few somehow got across continents (apparently, they'd built their OWN plane). And, with time, the Cool Worms claimed Earth. Genetic modification The Cool Worms still have access to the original genetic modification technology. They can essentially choose what their children look like and create new members of the society without the need for official parents, though there are several laws and limitations around this. Caste System Modern Cool Worm society (600 years after the initial creation) is split into a system of 5 castes. These castes determine your importance for society. 1st Caste- 1st Caste cool worms are important world leaders and politicians. There are almost no rules to what they can do with genetic modification. They MAKE the rules. 2nd Caste- 2nd Caste cool worms are upper-class members of society. They are important and have lots of special privelages, but definatley not as much as 1st Caste Worms. 3rd Caste- We are moving on to civillians here. 3rd Caste Worms are civillians with more important jobs, like doctors, teachers, ect. 4th Caste- Civillians with less important jobs. Just your ordinary joes, store cashiers ect. 5th Caste- Any worm who has recently committed a crime is demoted to 5th Caste. 5th Caste worms are completley banned from using the Genetic Modifiers, and are either imprisoned or under constant survialence. Zero Zero is the mythical uber-ruler of Cool Worms. No-one knows what they look like, no-one knows who they really are, all we know is that they run EVERYTHING. Zero isn't even their real name. They just get called that because they're above even 1st Caste Worms. 1
BirbMonster Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 Making rules: -WIP- No making 1st Caste OCS, since they're all important figures they'll all be created by me for the Cool Worm cinematic universe. Ask permission for 2nd and 5th Caste characters (I don't want them to get too common) and feel free to make as many 3rd and 4th OCs as you want. Follow the rules stated in the "Cool Worm Stuff" post You can post your cool worm ocs elsewhere such as Deviantart, but please credit me and link this topic. If you post a cool worm elsewhere, try to control other users of whatever site you put them on, I don't want someone else to take credit for these guys. Have fun!

BirbMonster Posted January 29, 2023 Author Posted January 29, 2023 Just Cool Worm Stuff Colours Cool Worms can be literally any colour in the spectrum. Parents will often use Genetic Modification to recolour unborn children. Cool Worms are big fans of colour theory and meaning (eg: Yellow representing happiness, Green representing nature, Blue representing tranquility) and they'll often use this in their decisions. Patterns can be anything but are generally more intriccate the higher the caste. Eye Number Eye number can be anything from 1 eye to 5. Having a large number of eyes (4 or 5) is a symbol of status and is mostly restricted for 2nd and 1st caste worms, though lower caste worms may occasionally have this many as there are cases when their caste ends up lower than that of their parents. Limb endings The two limbs of a cool worm end in either human-like hands, paws, or hooves. Usually, lower caste cool worms have the more humanoid hands, since they do the jobs that actually require grabbing and precision. High-caste leaders just need to speak. Horns Cool Worms often have heads rimmed with horns, spikes, or antlers. They can even have as many as 6 pairs, though having this much, like having many eyes, is a status thing, and restricted to high-caste. Those from 3rd or 4th caste will either have 1 or 2 pairs, or none. Wings Some 1st (occasionally 2nd when they are allowed to) may add a pair of wing-like appendages in any shape, from feathered wings to bat like ones and even insect-like. However these wings are useless for flight. Funnilly enough, 5th caste worms can be pretty much anything since they can have been any class before doing a crime.
BirbMonster Posted January 29, 2023 Author Posted January 29, 2023 Now that we have the rules feel free to make OCs
