Why are all the characters in Hollow Knight able to be drawn so cute?

I keep watching Hollow Knight animations And all the characters are done so cute

Hollow Knight, Ghost (the knight character you play as), Broken Vessel, all the vessels, Radience, baby Hornet (There's several animations of baby Hornet. I don't think normal Hornet is ever cute, just like, pretty), sometimes Grimm

and there's some characters that are just naturally cute

Myla, Pale King, Grimmchild
