Gobbley Gobbley ghooo

(design notes below because this piece had a lot of thought put into it) (copy pasted from the wiki, just putting the same thing everywhere again (birb finally starts posting art on multiple platforms at once real)

-I like to picture the seasonals less as monsters that simply exist amongst the others, but as more mythological figures linked to their seasonal event. This depiction would have been made by someone living on Fire Haven.

-I looked up a lot of medieval art as inspiration for the style.

-I tend to treat the game’s islands as someting close to Earth's countries in my own version of the lore. The flag that Gobbleygourd holds in this image is the flag of Fire Haven (who could've guessed)

-In it's other talon it holds a fire bush. Now this funky lookin' plant's in-game description is, in my honest opinion, stupid, so I want to do something new with it. I imagine that fire bushes are adapted to grow in extremely high temperatures, and therefore can be found growing in paticularly hot regions of Fire Haven. It's a very culturally important plant there, being a staple of the island's diet. When eaten raw, it's mind-bogglingly spicy, but chefs have learned how to process this and reduce it from mouth explodes spicy, to normal very spicy.

-You might notice something strange about the Monstrous text, and that's because it's not the normal Monstrous languege seen in-game. This is my conlang, where I've been making Monstrous into a 'proper' languege seperate from English. Now, I also believe different regions of the Torus would have different langueges (feels more realistic to me), so ideally, this text would be in Firish, rather than Natural Monstrous... but I haven't conlanged it yet.
