the thing slowing me down right now is that it all seems normal written down, but when I picture it read aloud it starts to sound clunky/robotic/cringey no matter how I can put it... because there's a huge difference between how something seems written down and how it seems said out loud

I wish I could help, I guess my only advice is write your script as the thoughts come, and just order those thoughts into a timeline instead of trying to make them sound super comprehensible or proffessional? Like speak from the heart type crap

They reproduce through pure elemental magic with some creative liberties taken for breeding combinations, and gender does not play a part in reproduction. 

• The Legendary class and Shugabush Island + Composer Island are not canon as they don’t fit in

• The existence of certain things, such as…

  • Celestial and Seasonal classes

  • Magical Nexus and Gold Island

• … are left as beliefs that exist within the world. Sometimes it will be implied they exist, not every monster believes in them. It’s up to your own interpretation. Immersive or something

• For the timeline, the Dawn of Fire era is said to have lasted 3000 years between the first known Monster records and the Cataclysm.

• We currently measure dates in years since the Cataclysm. We’re in 2925

• Continuing with the topic of the Cataclysm, it killed off 90% of the population and reshaped the very structure of society as we know it*

• The monster world is currently in an industrial revolution, so they have 1800s levels of technology. They would’ve developed further by now but there’s quite a large focus on adapting technologies to fit the needs of each species’ body (different sizes, lack or surplus of limbs, ect)

• Music forms the foundation of monster culture. Every species can naturally and effortlessly create music and kinda like sync with others??? Anyways, the songs for each island are not a rigid concept. Sometimes, a whole community (such as a few hundred mons that live in the same village) all just gather up and sing, but sometimes it's just a friend group or family. Songs change over generations just as language and culture does, so while each island has a distinct ‘feel’ to its song, any group will have its own adaptation of it that is greatly valued among those who are part of it.

*the devs said the cataclysm didn't harm anyone once in a Q&A discord voice call and I (muted) laughed because I don't listen to them

Hey what if I talked about the monster government?

 

Plant, Cold, Air, Water, and Earth Island are all part of an organisation called the CFU (Continent Fragments Union). The government is run by a council, where they must always retain a balance of an equal number of representatives from each island (country), usually around 3-7 (fluctuated throughout history). The vote new members onto the council whenever there is a situation where more are needed. If any councillors die or step down, an equal number of councillors from the other islands must usually temporarily step away from the job, until a replacement is found or until they decide the lower number is doing just fine.

Fire Haven has had a monarchy for millenia. They have a pretty chaotic family tree because in those thousands of years there's been several times where it's just like 'oh crap the only guy left to rule is like the third cousin once removed of the previous ruler well I guess we'll take it' so it's not a complete line of direct descendants. They take the Skyflare surname every time to the point where it's synonymous with leadership and more of a title than a name. Fire Haven was also invited onto the CFU but they were too conservative about the whole monarchy thing

Fire Oasis was technically ruled by the monarchy too when it was first founded, but it gained independence in 2801 (2925 is the current year) and it's had democracy since then.
