Rogue males don't breed when attacked

Can there please please be a thing where rogue males don't mate with your female anyway if you just attacked them that turn? I've had it so many times where they'll breed even though I just attacked him instead of running away. It's annoying, and I don't want the spiky body just for this reason (I don't like how it looks). It feels broken in a sense, since what's the point of attacking them if they only go away half the time?

Maybe make it so the rogue male's next turn can never be for breeding if he was just attacked?

Theoreticly that should be already in the game. If it doesn't work then it would be more of a bug :)

Oh, I didn't know that. I've seen this talked about before (specifically on steam), but it didn't seem like a fix was in the works for it.
