Color&pattern options🐅🐆

Lilytuft

Post

Edit: For a long time I've felt like I just want to delete this suggestion. It's pretty mean to ask the devs to redo their whole pattern system, after all the hard work hey put into it. Only thing I actually have a problem with, is the fur colors. So if you could tone those down a bit, that would be enough!

Oh, the old beautiful niche!  I miss it so much! One thing I've noticed lately, is that the new fur colours bother me a lot. They're so unrealistic! I'm tired of pink nichelings.

All screenshots in this post are from Seri! Pixel Biologist!'s videos and @Fishyfishyfishy500

But I know that many people love the current pattern and color system as it is. Plus sometimes some really cool colors and patterns come trough.

So it should be a toggleable thing. You could choose to use either the old fur colors(+ one extra shade of brown) or the new fur colors. Incase you have never played with the old colors, here are some screenshots of them:

Well what about patterns? They would be toggleable too. You could choose the current system or what I'm about to explain next.

This system would create more realistic looking patterns with more realistic colours. The DNA would include following color related genes.

Following DNA has this nicheling's color genes: 809824321_Tpli.png.5553cee5f60f54671333eae279740f16.png

I am also quite sick of the occasional BRIGHT RED or Mustard yellow nicheling too, The old color style was way more realistic, also I AVOID those color schemes as as much as possible, you have my vote

Only bright color nichelings i like are the toxic body ones (and the cute little blue nicheling in my dream, I loved him!)

Also Adam's fur is unrelistically bright orange. I like the combination of redbrown and yellow more.

I think the fur colors for nichelings actually are realistic, at least in the sense that they all appear in nature (except for pink). They are too bright, however, which may give them the appearance of being unrealistic, when in actuality I think it is just the game's style.

maybe just get rid of the bright red and yellow and put in a coppery orange in instead?

I think these two colors (and how they interact with others) are the only problem the colorsysthem might have right now

but if there were a coppery orange fur gene (like a red fox or tiger) instead, that could lead in combination with beige to a (not as mustardy) dirty blonde yellow and together with the reddish-brown to a matted red

we would have still all colors but yellow and red would then be more muted, okay then there still would be the chance of the  darker pink by reddish-brown + white but it would be a lot less likely anyways and no more bright pink

one thing though, the flamingo is pink due to dietary side effects and eyelash vipers can also be red or green(green is mostly for leaf and algae camo) and the use it as essentially warning coloring or as camouflage to blend in with all the flowers and fruits, for example, it is hard to spot a yellow one among a bunch of bananas(this happens all the time and results in vipers slithering around Brazilian markets) or spotting a red one among heliconia flowers or slinking around tree branches at night

@Fishyfishyfishy500 Thanks for the screenshots! I added the two with best colorings, since the other two didn't really fit the theme of this post that well :)

it's because they are no pattern creatures right?, that makes sense, they don't really have much going for them and could have easily existed almost the same in the old version
