Philo Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 I think it would be cool if we could share Nichelings with each other Maybe we could even do stuff like Animal Crossing, where some genes are unique to some players and you need to trade ^^ 8 1
6 Philo Posted December 14, 2018 Author Posted December 14, 2018 A minimal version of this will be in the next update. You can make sandbox settings with custom Nichelings and send the settings over to other players. No unique genes like Animal Crossing though. 9
18 JessiMew Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 This is such an intriguing concept! I love the idea of sharing Nichelings with other players - though part of me hopes there would be a workaround for people who wouldn't or couldn't trade, should it include new and special genes. Since this isn't an online game, I'm sure it would be very frustrating to suddenly feel forced to track down genes beyond your own game. I'm very interested, though! I'd love to see where this goes. 13

7 seahorsepie Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Wow, i'd love that feature. Maybe the creature that gets transferred would arrive on the ports? 3
7 seahorsepie Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Maybe you could have a little nicheling library that contains the creatures that are transferred to you. And you'd be able to send them into any save file you want. 6
4 wavypavy Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 It could be cool if imported nichelings turned up as wandering nichelings at a random time soon after you import them. I also think a kind of 'plaza' where you can view imported nichelings or save your favourite nichelings to export might be a good way to implement an exchange thing. I'm generally not a fan of content in games requiring you to trade online to unlock, but if it was really easy and accessible I could learn to like player to player exclusive genes. 1 1
2 Spacestar TheThundersuncat Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 (edited) DogCatCowPig, I thought about that, but I'd rather have one new gene with an actual function attached than 3 new cosmetics. So I am generally against them. Edited August 3, 2018 by RandomWanderer Clarity.
2 Kaga87 Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 This sounds really interesting! Maybe it can work somehow like the stickers in steam? You have a nicheling you find gorgeous and can post it as picture on a market-forum. If someone is interested in it and has an offering you are interested in (again only seeing the picture), both accept and only then the code is shown. You can copy that code in your file and if you are lucky, you unlock the nicheling as random birth-mutation. 1
1 Sky Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 It would be cool if you could store the creatures you like in your own library, then be able to send them to other players from there! 3
0 Snowy Owl Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 how would that work? as i only played animal crossing once and that was long ago. 1
0 Philo Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 You mean with the unique genes? Imagine we both start playing the game. You get, let's say "Bunny Ears" and I get a "Gecko Tail" gene in the game. But I can never find Bunny Ears in my game. So you'd send me one of your animals that you exported And I'd send you one with Gecko Tail, which you wouldn't be able to find in the game. 2
0 Philo Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 That would be a new feature we'd need to add ^^ 1
0 jennymarlv Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 So once you got your bunny ears, would you unlock it on your game, or would you have to breed carefully to keep it? My daughter plays animal crossing, I'll have to ask her how that works. 1
0 Philo Posted August 3, 2018 Author Posted August 3, 2018 I think once you have the gene, you unlock it.
0 bostonlobstah Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I would LOVE that! i imagine it would be hard to implement, but still so cool! I hope that EVERY single niche player gets a different gene lol!! We could have so many Nicheling traits! Haha

0 Lilytuft Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I would use this to clone my dead nichelings 😈 2
0 bostonlobstah Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 kind of like creature creator/breeder mode? 30 minutes ago, Skysplash8 said: It would be cool if you could store the creatures you like in your own library, then be able to send them to other players from there!

Hi, Jessimew! Your videos inspired me to play this game! 3
0 bostonlobstah Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Could you do this to creatures with non exclusive genes? sometimes I really need to get rid of perfectly good creatures but don’t want to kill or banish them.
