Cannot permanently scrap weapons?

I only have the public demo version, but after scrapping all of my available to scrap weapons, if I go and do another mission and gain a new piece of equipment, all the stuff I previously sold returns to my inventory and I can use it on drones or sell it all again at the scrapyard.

I've been able to repeat this over and over, I have not stopped gaining new weapons and nice as the exploit is.. it is getting a tad clogged and I'd like to only have weapons I want to keep available to me..
