Filter gates: A suggestion about making things do things when we want them too

Post

Short answer: add filter gates!

Long answer: a filter gate is a timing device, which will require its input to be active for a period of time before activating its output. It’s output shuts off as soon as it’s input does, however. This filter gate is just one of those things I would just really like to use, and along with the buffer gate, could help with timing devices.

I know a few ways to use a 555. But today i would just use a small uC. But you are right, i'm pretty sure there are much more options to use this little timer than the things i used it for :)

But to get back to a more plausible reality we just can hope for the devs to implement a few basic timer-blocks.

Edit: Typo...

Factoring time into some timer-gates would be a nice addition! Something like a NE555 :)

On delay, off delay, with and without retrigger would be a nice start...

555 curcuitry? So now we can do everything a 555 can?

m8, that’s a lot of stuff

Sounds useful. Maybe someday we have to spent a certain amount of time to add all these great ideas for logic parts. This filter sounds really useful for the sumo, makes me getting new ideas :)

Keep posting all these ideas❤️
