The juggernaut

Post

So dosent really matter all that much but either a pirate or Corp ship is rampaging through the galaxy it moves evreything you move, and plunders somthing when you complete a mission. Your goal is to catch it then destroy it. When it plunders somthing, all,of the building will be destroyed, perhaps some special sprites that look like smoldering ruins of each building (so basically ruined versions of the current enemy building) a lot of the resource will be gone  the goal would be to restore the planet in certain areas with bio weapons. Sometimes the juggernaut leaves behind strongholds/pirate camps and you have to destroy those to progress through the system. It would appear firs in galaxy 3-4 so things don’t get stale. You have to destroy it to progress. Every 5 plunders or so it takes a rest lasting 1 mission.  In battle, the juggernaut is massive, just a little smaller than the nimbatus itself, it’s. Made of four segments, the bulwark, an indestructible armor plating covered with guns. The Bridre, a shielded section(energy sheild) that is the command center, destroy it to kill the juggernaut this section contains two antennae, one on the bottom and one on top, these will produce a transmitter signal, witch is randomly picked from a small pool of custom signals. destroying one will activated the other, after 45-50 seconds they respawn. Next, the hanger, the hanger is s sheilded section that contains a spawner, the spawner spawns fighter drones which are smarter, more agile, more powerful version of the transmitter drone. They max out at 7 and are spawned every 7 seconds. At the back is the Engine, a masive thruster that pushes the juggernaut forward. This section is vulnerable. Blowing up the thruster causes a chain reaction that travels down the juggernaut in a line of explosions, that reveal a weak point in the bulwark. Once attacked enough the crack we slowly widen eventually revealing the sheild generator. Attacking this enough will bring down the sheilds protecting the bridge and hanger. Attack the bridge enough, and a cascade of explosions ripple through the behemoth, as fire showers from the sky, fighters spiral out towards the ground, as sections fracture and fall down, as the behemoth spirals down breaking off, smaller and smaller, fire and smoke filling the air, cascades of scrap showering down, it all ends with a loud *BOOM* and the sky fills with orange and red as the explosions echoes across the galaxy, no the universe, as the mighty juggernaut has been slain.

I'm okay with a galaxy that breathes a little. I'd like to see galaxies become a living place. Right now the galaxy screen isn't a place.   It's a menu.  You can replace it with a menu tree and you would legitimately lose nothing but cosmetic features.

Game design is about delivering an experience, and right now the galaxy map is just a gate for planetary missions, and the wormhole. It doesn't really deliver an experience.  It's not a place.

Until it helps deliver the experience, the galaxy map is just in our way. There are a number of suggestions about double clicking or other means to get out of the galaxy map faster, and it's easy to see why. Once you're aware of where you need to be and what's around you, there's nothing fun or even of interest until your next system unlock.

I think that more cosmetics and some QOL will help with the galaxy. Double clicking to enter planets would help as well as planets orbiting thier stars.

This has nothing to do with the overall post itself, so please remove the comment.

I like the boss fight, but it should only be a boss fight, and not affect multiple missions.

and yes it should effect the galaxy, the developers them selves even stated so, in their closed alpha roadmap. They want to add dynamic missions that span over multiple planets, and I feel this is a great way to do so. Of course the way stated it in the post was a bit extreme, but my point stands, it should leave a lasting effect on the planet

Good point.  I'll delete my reply to that comment. I'm not helping us stay on topic, either.

I think what MtM means is that he doesn't want it to change mission parameters on existing missions,  not that he doesn't want multiplanet quests.
