I'm curious if the books themselves at least improved, having stopping after the whole dovewing-ivypool dark forest issue. And some beavers. Why What the heck are they even doing? In the above, it doesn't make any sense. Just a bunch of cats badly inserted into a background. it is nice on others. The faces... no artist here, but producing something that has two eyes, which look in the same direction, seems the bare minimum of effort. It doesn't help that there are variants out there without either issue. Not perfect, but better than edited cats to me. The distance is off, the grey cat's expression doesn't suit the scene and it's way closer to the 'camera' than the black cat. Photoshop has some fairly capable filters in that vein. I also know of a photographer that takes photos of cats that appear to be doing ninja moves. There are really nice ones like this, after all: (I'm getting way too worked up over book covers... ) But most others could be reproduced by anyone with access to tools and little experience. It would also be good to not read the guides until you read the books published before them, because they may give spoilers. OK-- what is happening to Firestar's face?? I know it's supposed to be water (at least I hope,) but it makes Firestar's head look a lil' squished. Also, can we just talk about that in the "New Prophecy" arc, all the books are just zoomed in on random cats' faces? The cover on Midnight is my favorite, because it looks like Brambleclaw is surprised by the fact he is on the cover of Midnight. And, while this isn't directly about the cover, can we just talk about the "manga"? They're called manga, but as a manga enthusiast myself, I strongly object. Because one, it's not read right-to-left, like actual manga.
