HAHA I bet all of you thought this would never come hm?! But you were wrong * cackles like a madwoman* Round 3 is here for your reading pleasure. I have round 4 and an extra round already finished as well which will come in the next week or so. This is still an awful lot of fun to do :D

Also also the usual gore warning and blood and death. Don't read if you are sensitive. And anything bad said about your tributes it not my personal opinion! Enjoy :D

Hunger Games 3

And here we are, ladies and gentlemen to the third round of The Hunger Games! Are you excited? Well we certainly are! The pool of tributes definitely looks promising.

First up we have Adam the second. Named after the great founder of the nation we expect a lot from this boy. He is calm and intelligent. Hopefully his soft heart won’t get in the way!

His district partner seems to be the total opposite. Jyn seems to be more rash in nature and hard working. District 1 brings good tributes to the games.

The male tribute from district 2 is Buttercup. Not a very intimidating name, but the look in his eyes sure gives me the creeps. Better stay out of his way.

Corrin, the female, is a little young for the arena. Always sad to have such young tributes but she is very brave. Maybe that will help her.

District 3 brings us two strong warriors. The first Plumstar. He doesn’t only have stunning looks but also determination.

His partner is Blizzardstar seems to be lost in Plumstar’s shadow. Rather humble, but in her heart she is a warrior.

District’s four male, Hiir, looks big but is rather weak. Shy as a mouse. Usually District 4 brings better tributes.

Well the second one is certainly a mouthful Kaakaokeksi. Would anybody mind if we just called her Kakao? Well I hope not because we will do it. She seems to be a good hunter but also rather indecisive. Best not make an alliance with her.

District 5 comes with stunning looks and a strong male tribute named Roku. He introduces himself as a protector. He won’t stop when he feels his family and friends are in danger. If he can do that for himself to then he won’t have a problem.

Meana looks certainly great. We don’t see green hair that often. She is rather grumpy and wouldn’t tell us much about her apart from the fact that she likes to run. So I guess it would be difficult catching her.

Opposite to district 5, district 6 has some rather… let’s say unique looks. Ryuk, the male tribute. He is convinced that he is a looker and I am sure he is for some people. He tends to use his looks and charm to get along with people. That won’t help him much in the arena.

His partner Cherry has it even worse than him. She also is waaaaay to friendly. She can’t hunt, she can’t fight and she doesn’t seem to want to but the blind girl from the last games got pretty far, so maybe she will to.

Talking about looks district 7 is definitely up there. Starting with the male tribute Daze. He is very impressed by himself and he isn’t shy to tell anyone about it. If you want it or not, he will tell you and if you don’t like it he will punch you. Kinda cool guy for the arena. If he can actually hold up to all of his boasting.

His partner will certainly be loved for her looks. Dragon Tear seems soft. Not talking much but she assures us that she is not afraid to fight.

District 8 comes with the brave Kinarri. Never afraid to protect the innocent. Not much more to say about him. Curious to see if he will uphold his protective mind in the arena.

Annini is not quite so fortunate. Being sick and rather unhappy about it. You better stay clear of her sharp tongue. She isn’t afraid to tell you her mind.

District 9 is already here and the male tribute Hollow looks promising, though at first glance you might think he is a girl but he doesn’t seem bothered by it. Brave, hot-headed, ready to jump into battle whenever it’s needed. This guy makes me shiver.

His partner, Lily, seems rather unintimidating next to him. Keeping mostly to herself but there is something about her I can’t quite put my fingers on. Keep an eye on her I tell you.

Next up we have district 10. Hawk isn’t to be trifled with. His father raised him to be strong and independent. His serious nature might also make him a serious enemy in the arena.

Flower looks very sweet next to the ruff Hawk but she is just as independent as he is and there is the silent flame of ambition burning in her eyes. It is always the silent ones I tell you.

District 11 brings us Shadowfrost. He looks calm when you first meet him but better not double cross him. He can’t stand that.

Aqualina his district partner is the youngest tribute here for these games. But she is fierce. Taking a liking to small, swift blades. She is just a swift to use them. Scary.

And finally district twelve. The male tribute Vampyr. He certainly matches his name from looks. His personality marking him as the unrivalled trickster under the tributes.

Yellowjacket, his partner, seems to want nothing to do with him. She is rather young but headstrong and feisty. She won’t take any crap.

With the introductions out of the way, let’s start the games.

The Bloodbath

The tributes are raised up on their podiums. Getting a first good look at the arena. Nothing to horrible. Don’t worry, they are still plenty frightened. The countdown ends and everybody jumps into action. Corrin, Vampyr, Hawk, Annini, Cherry, Dragon Tear, Hollow, Hiir and Adam II all run away from the cornucopia. Not staying for the bloodbath could be smart but they also might just die out there without supplies.

Jyn is the first to reach anything at all and grabs a shovel. Desperately using it to keep the others at bay. Plumstar leaps over her, not interested in getting beaten with a spade and instead kills Kinarri.

Ryuk, Aqualina and Lily use the chaos to their advantage gathering as many supplies as possible and running off. Meana, Shadowfrost, Roku and Kakao have a similar idea and share their supplies before taking off.

Buttercup stays on his own gathering as much food as he can and keeping a look out for others while doing so. Yellowjacket snatches a bottle and a rag right under his nose but he doesn’t seem to care much.

Blizzardstar and Daze have a small tussle over some fishing gear. Blizzardstar gets the bait and Daze the gear. No idea why that would be so important to them when neither is from district four but who knows what might come in handy for the arena.

Flower is the only one to come out of this properly armed with a bow and arrow.

Kinnarri is the only one who fell right at the bloodbath. Unfortunate soul.

Day 1

Most of the tributes have split up after the bloodbath, which wasn’t really much off a bloodbath. In the end Plumstar went after Jyn, who just barely got away and Flower, in her hurry to flee fell into a ditch. When Daze finds her, she begs for him to kill her, but instead he helps her out of there and lets her live. Maybe he fell for her pretty looks.

Jyn is found by Kakao, who settles down and tends to her wounds. The females don’t speak about what happened. They just try to cope.

If anybody comes after Meana she is well prepared, having received an explosive from a sponsor. I told you good looks are useful.

Her district partner Roku seems to be looking for trouble though, as he has found Annini’s tracks and is now stalking her. Maybe he hopes that she has some supplies or he is just in it for the kill.

Plumstar, now over his killing spree, decides to start preparing for the night and looks for firewood. The cornucopia might provide food and weapons, but maybe he can lure some tributes to him with the fire.

Hollow, far away from anybody, has a similar idea and works on constructing a shack for the night.

Dragon Tear, another beautiful lady, receives a hatched. The sponsors seem to be wishing for some action. No wonder after the rather lame bloodbath.

Corrin is in the right set of mind and builds a wooden spear. Vampyr, trying to build some traps, gets slapped by a branch. Blood flows out of his nose. How unfortunate.

Meanwhile Hawk is just minding his own business. Being the independent guy he introduced himself as and just picks some flower.

But there are also some things happening in the forests of the arena. Blizzardstar has gotten herself into quite an unlucky situation with Adam. She either has to kill Cherry or Buttercup as Adam has only a branch thick enough to carry the weight of two. Blizzardstar decides to kill Buttercup. He puts up quite the fight though. She probably just didn’t want to kill the peaceful Cherry.

Ryuk tries to charm Aqualina, who isn’t very impressed. Quickly a fight breaks out and the much bigger Ryuk kills Aqualina with a sickle.

Canons fire and the newformed pack looks up. Shadowfrost, Lily, Hiir and Yellowjacket want to find their share of the action too.

The day ends with the images of the fallen tributes up in the sky. Still not as many as you’d suspect.

Kinarri (8)

Buttercup (2)

Aqualina (11)

Sadly, the youngest tributes usually die the quickest, but maybe that is a good thing.

As most nights in the arena, this one brings the cold with it and Flower lights a fire. Usually not very smart but after her encounter with Daze she seems to have found her fighting spirit and when Corrin, Cherry and Vampyr are drawn to her fire, she fights them all of. Not that Cherry put up much of a fight. She just stuck her nose in, realized she wasn’t welcome and left again.

Annini doesn’t risk it, not after finally being able to shake Roku from her trail and just goes to sleep in the shade of a bush, which gives at least a little warmth. Not that she shook him exactly. He just passed out from exhaustion.

Plumstar has found people to hang out with too. First he found Hiir, the pack split again in the night, but Hiir still wants glory and so he sticks to the one tribute who was the first to kill. Dragon Tear joins the round as well. Wanting some protection for the night. When Jyn comes up, tension rises. Plumstar did try to kill her after all, but the other tributes make the two settle for a truce and they then tell ghost stories to lighten the mood.

Hollow, now having finished his shack, thinks about winning. For a guy who has done nothing so far than build a shack that is very ambitious.

Kakao, left Jyn shortly before nightfall and stumbles about Meana. The two females settle down together and talk about the fact that still an awful lot of tributes are alive.

Lily and Blizzardstar seem to be in a similar set of mind. Blizzardstar having escaped from the situation with Adam II, really just doesn’t want to think about it. She fought the other male, wounded him quite a bit so that Cherry could run and flee. She doesn’t know but Adam is trying to treat the infection in his wounds, right when Lily and Blizzardstar are talking peacefully.

Daze, getting hungry and not being able to fish with just half of the fishing gear, receives fresh food from an unknown sponsor. He promises to do better.

Ryuk looks at the night sky. Having seen the face of Aqualina made him uncomfortable. She was very young.

Shadowfrost being alone now after the pack split receives an explosive.

Hawk seems to have gotten tired of his solitude because when he stumbles upon Yellowjacket, he convinces her to snuggle with him. If only to stay warm for the night.

Day 2

Annini gets up early. Not wanting to give Roku any chance to catch up and stumbles upon Hollow in his shack. They fight, she wins, but spares his life. How disappointing.

Hollow packs up and leaves as fast as possible.

Hiir, still looking for glory, stumbles upon Corrin. He sees it as his chance but when she lifts her rather impressive wooden spear he runs off again.

Ryuk, despite not being hurt, receives medical supplies, which makes him feel only worse about his kill.

Plumstar has been left by his group. They probably fear what he might do and he hears Yellowjacket and Roku talking in the distance. Carefully he creeps closer. Not sure if he wants to fight two tributes at once.

Hawk has apparently found his taste for women, as he tries to woo Dragon Tear as well, but she is rather unimpressed by his efforts and leaves.

Adam II is still on the move though, having fought of most of the infection he goes on to hunt Jyn. Not caring much that she is his district partner. Jyn sprains her ankle, when she falls down a hill while running from Adam II but he doesn’t manage to get to her.

Vampyr, deciding not to try and build any more traps, builds bow and arrow instead and practices his archery.

Blizzardstar and Lily have split up as well. Lily went to look for a water source, while Blizzardstar meets up with Flower and Kakao to hunt down some tributes.

Daze, as promised, wants to do better and builds a wooden spear.

Shadowfrost explores the arena, maybe looking for a good spot to place his explosive.

Meana and Cherry have found each other and decide to work together for the day.

Not enough killing going on if you ask me. The night sky is empty.

Meana and Cherry split, just as promised, Meana meeting up with Adam II, Ryuk, Vampyr and Daze. They decide to sleep in shifts.

Cherry is alone once more and when she sees a fire she tries to maybe sleep next to it but Blizzardstar isn’t very happy about that, having already fought of Corrin and Hollow. So Cherry has to run away again and she runs even further when she hears Dragon Tear beg to someone for her death. Hiir has finally gotten his chance but when he looks into Dragon Tear’s desperate eyes he can’t do it and instead tends to her wounds as good as he can.

Cherry barrels into Flower in the depth of night, startling the other female so bad, that Flower screams for help. Cherry quickly disappears. No idea who would help Flower but you never know.

Shadowfrost seems to have found a place for his explosive and goes on to destroy Lily’s supplies. The female isn’t around to witness that though, lucky for her, Shadowfrost would surely have killed her.

His explosive does do that, just not to Lily. Jyn sets it off but manages to scramble away, instead it hits Hawk.

Plumstar did decide to fight Yellowjacket and Roku but all of them got out of it alive and now the big, black male is tending to his wounds in the dark. Roku decides, just in case Plumstar is still close, to better not start a fire. Yellowjacket can barely sleep, afraid of nightmares and Plumstar killing her.

Kakao isn’t in any better mood, crying herself to sleep.

Day 3

With nothing left, Lily has to rebuild and starts to build a shack. Hiir watches her, camouflaged in the bushes, but doesn’t attack. He knows he can’t kill her. He couldn’t kill Dragon Tear. So he won’t be able to kill Lily.

Cherry sees Lily’s fire but has learned from earlier lessons and won’t get closer.

Blizzardstar still wounded from her nightly fights, stumbles upon Ryuk. Still feeling guilty and with his medical supplies at hand he tends to Blizzardstar’s wounds.

Meana finds Daze’s scent trail but he distracts her and runs off. Annini does the same when stumbling upon a rather tired Yellowjacket.

Plumstar is on the move again, Dragon Tear is once more with him and this time also Vampyr and Corrin. Parallel to that another pack forms. Roku, Jyn and Flower set out together as well.

Hollow, wandering the forest alone, decides to make a slingshot, maybe it will come in handy.

Kakao decides to explore the arena in hopes of finding food.

Adam II found Shadowfrost and stalks him carefully. He knows the black dappled male is dangerous.

Only Hawk (10) can be seen up in the night sky. That are some very calm games so far.

Adam II leaves Shadowfrost to himself as the chill of the night sets in. Instead he finds himself cuddled up next to Roku for warmth. Meanwhile Shadowfrost quickly cooks some of the food he stole of Lily and then puts his fire out. Not quick enough though as Jyn has seen his fire but she is smarter than to investigate.

A thunderous sound can be heard as Annini accidentally steps on a landmine. The debris hitting Ryuk who is close by. Luckily he still has some of his medical supplies he uses to tend the wounds.

Corrin and Vampyr both fail at lighting a fire in the cold night.

Kakao settles down to. She was attacked by some rather nasty and very alive vines and has to tend to her wounds. Hollow and Lily both receive fresh food.

Dragon Tear gets lost in the dark. While Flower lets Blizzardstar into her shelter. Hiir and Yellowjacket meet. They fight. Brutally. Hiir loses and wants to be killed as he seems to not be able to kill others but Yellowjacket feels the same reluctance and keeps him alive. The same can’t be said about Cherry. The formerly friendly female seems to be finally broken by the arena as she ambushes Daze and kills him.

Plumstar settles with Meana for the night. Easily convincing her to snuggle with him. I wonder if one of them will end up dead in the morning.

Day 4

The next day comes, but Roku tries to ignore it by just sleeping through the entire thing. He is lucky that neither of the two big packs, one consisting of Jyn, Blizzardstar, Vampyr, Flower and Hollow and the other of Yellowjacket, Cherry, Lily and Kakao have found him.

After his night with Meana Plumstar seems rather content just to fish. The green female scares of Shadowfrost from the waterside. Adam II seems calmer now as well and picks berries. The thorns prick him but the thinks nothing of it.

Hiir seems to have made a decision. If he wants to get out of here he needs to kill and so he sets out to kill other tributes.

Ryuk and Corrin stumble upon each other. She doesn’t hesitate to scare him away with her trusty wooden spear.

Annini (8) and Daze (7) appear on the night sky. These might be a long set of games.

The night brings new alliances as always. Cherry and Lily stay together and take in Corrin and Blizzardstar as well as Kakao when she comes along. The girls decide to sleep in shifts. Better safe than sorry.

Jyn and Ryuk have the same idea. Jyn doesn’t really trust Ryuk but she sees the guilt in his eyes. The arena hasn’t been kind to him.

Hollow and Vampyr stay together after the big pack splits and talk about the other tributes. They want the games over with. Preferably with them still alive.

Roku and Hiir also meet. Hiir with his newfound spirit fights with the other male but as it turns out they are quite evenly matched and decide a truce for the night.

Meana seems to have found a good way to sleep. Snuggled up to another person. This time it is Adam II. I wouldn’t trust him but who knows.

Shadowfrost slowly starts to question himself. He has killed somebody, indirectly, but it was still his explosive.

Flower and Dragon Tear both try to hold it together and support each other.

Yellowjacket fails to light a fire and Plumstar receives fresh water which he is rather happy about.

Day 5

Day 5 turns out to be a very calm day. Meana returns to the river, trying to fish, maybe even looking out for Plumstar. But he is working with Lily for the day.

Dragon Tear scares of Kakao. Both females not really up for a fight.

Ryuk finds the river as well and tries to fish too.

Hiir is apparently bad at making decisions as he questions his sanity. How could he kill other people?

Hollow doesn’t seem nearly as troubled thinking about home while Vampyr goes out hunting with his bow and arrow.

Flower just tries to sleep. Maybe not the smartest idea considering the nightmares that may come.

Jyn still having a hurt ankle is saved when she receives medical supplies and just in time as Blizzardstar, Cherry and Shadowfrost come by to hunt some tributes. Jyn hides quickly.

Adam II decides to explore the arena.

Roku hears Yellowjacket and Corrin talking. He isn’t sure if he wants to mess with Corrin but it would sure be nice to talk to Yellowjacket again.

No one is dead that night.

In the end Roku approaches Corrin and Yellowjacket. Yellowjacket heads of but Roku and Corrin stay together and take in Kakao as well. They discuss what might happen tomorrow as the games have been rather calm so far. They startle as they hear a cannon go of. Meana drank from a poisoned puddle. She should have stayed at the river.

Another group forms with Ryuk, Adam II and Shadowfrost. They cheerfully sing songs together. Dragon Tear can hear them and climbs a tree to get some rest.

Plumstar seems to be back on his old game, after trying to kill Lily but failing he lights a fire to lure some tributes. It works as Vampy, Hiir and Flower show up. He fights them all but doesn’t manage to kill them. Cherry still decides to stay away from the fires. Lily is tending to her wounds, shaking from Plumstar’s betrayal.

Jyn, now healed, finds Yellowjacket’s meagre food supply and destroys it just out of spite. Yellowjacket should have stay with Roku and Corrin.

Hollow has returned to his shack and when Blizzardstar comes by he lets her in.

Day 6

Roku sees the sun rising and decides, again, to rather sleep throughout it. Maybe he hopes to be killed in his sleep.

In total opposite to that, Shadowfrost is up early and decides to leave his group with Ryuk and Adam II, not trusting the two males. He sets out to find somebody else to work with and ends up in a pretty big group with Kakao, Hollow and Yellowjacket. Him and the other three decide to raid Flower’s camp. The pretty female heard them coming from a mile away and quickly fled.

Plumstar starts searching for firewood once more, discovering that it is a good method to lure tributes.

Cherry got her hand on a trident, after her first kill, a sponsor probably found liking to the formerly peaceful female, and she tries to fish with it.

Adam II and Vampyr find each other and they decide to work together for the day, though it seems like a shaky alliance.

Hiir might have made up his mind once again, but who knows for how long this one will last, as he chases after Ryuk who sprains his ankle but still manages to get away. Sadly, all of his medical supplies are used up.

Dragon Tear is wandering the arena as she witnesses through the shelter of some bushes how Blizzardstar stabs Corrin with a tree branch. In the end the wooden spear wasn’t enough to protect the young tribute. Fearing for her life Dragon Tear runs away, hiding and thinking about home. Where she was safe.

Lily and Jyn have found each other, and after Plumstar’s betrayal Lily wants revenge. Jyn is on board with hunting down the black male and they set out to do just that.

Meana (5) and Corrin (2) show up in the night sky. Blizzardstar doesn’t look. She doesn’t need to be reminded of her kill.

The night is riddled with canons. After having a small fight Vampyr runs away from Adam II and gets lost in a canyon. Adam II doesn’t try to follow the black male and instead meets up with Kakao and they tell stories to each other. I am surprised that he didn’t try to kill her.

Killing might be on Cherry’s mind though after she receives an explosive from a sponsor.

Lily and Jyn have split up when they discover Ryuk. Lily goes after Ryuk while Jyn pairs up with Hollow to track down Yellowjacket. Lily poison Ryuk’s food, killing the male and Hollow and Jyn kill Yellowjacket with ease.

Blizzardstar, seemingly ambitious, stumbles upon Shadowfrost. The two fight until Blizzardstar stabs Shadowfrost.

Hiir, hearing all the canons and definitely having gone insane, cries himself to sleep.

The canons also unnerve Flower and Dragon Tear who huddle for warmth.

Surprisingly Plumstar, who has indeed build his fire, decides on a truce when Roku shows up.

Day 7

Lily and Jyn meet up after their kills again in the morning. Flower, Cherry and Blizzardstar join them to hunt for some tributes. It is not clear how well Flower will do but they rather have her close than hidden in the arena.

Still bearing wounds from fighting Yellowjacket, Hollow receives medical supplies and treats his wounds.

Hiir stalks Adam II. Adam should keep an eye out. At this point I have no idea anymore what Hiir might do.

Plumstar and Roku seem to have settled on a more or less permanent alliance which is tested pretty quickly when they encounter Kakao and Dragon Tear. The four tributes fight with the females Kakao and Dragon Tear surviving. Dragon Tear was surprisingly fierce in the battle. Who would have thought, hm?

Finally, more names are up in the sky at night.

Ryuk (6)

Yellowjacket (12)

Shadowfrost (11)

Plumstar (3)

Roku (5)

The night is illuminated by a fire of in the distance. Adam II has lit it, with our resident fire lighter Plumstar now dead. Hiir sees the fire but doesn’t dare to get close.

Cherry is definitely not peaceful anymore as she kills Flower with a hatchet. The girl proved useless to the pack and was disposed of.

Blizzardstar fails at lighting a fire and has to sleep without warmth. Dragon Tear is slightly luckier as Lily lets her into her shelter.

Hollow and Kakao fight in the night. Hollow wins but spares her life. No idea why, especially when he killed Yellowjacket without remorse.

Jyn isn’t as merciful when she stumbles upon Vampyr. The two fight. She wrangles his bow and arrow from him and shoots him in the head. The sound of the canon has become so normal that no one startles anymore.

Day 8

Day 8 starts with a feast. Dragon Tear and Jyn both decide not to go. I am surprised. I would have thought that Jyn would take the chance but maybe she is smarter than she looks.

This time the cornucopia isn’t only supplied with food and weapons but also with memoirs of the tributes family’s. Lily arrives first, surprised by the sight of her family she doesn’t notice Hollow coming up behind her and stabbing her. He grabs supplies and runs of again.

Hiir scrambles the remnants of his sanity together when he meets his district partner Kakao. She and Adam II are on the move to track down Cherry, who can’t be far off. Hiir joins them and together they kill the red female.

Blizzardstar arrives last to the feats. Quickly grabbing supplies and running off again.

After noticing how crazy Hiir has become, Kakao scares him off. Not trusting him anymore. Especially when the small pack has split up anyways. Adam II regrets that decision when he is discovered by Dragon Tear but he manages to distract her long enough, accidentally though, when he triggers Cherry’s hidden explosive. Both survive but Dragon Tear has no hopes of finding Adam II now.

Jyn has lost all patience and when she comes upon Hollow she kills him with her bare hands.

Blizzardstar is not so lucky. She falls into a frozen lake and drowns.

The list of the fallen in the night sky is long once more.

Flower (10)

Vampyr (12)

Lily (9)

Cherry (6)

Hollow (9)

Blizzardstar (3)

Jyn calmly cooks some food before putting the fire out. She doesn’t seem bothered at all by her kills. She is truly a strong fighter.

Hiir is crying again. Definitely not strong, while Adam II tries to treat his infected wounds.

Kakao and Dragon Tear meet up. Finding comfort in talking.

Day 9

With only 5 tributes left things heat up pretty quickly. Kakao manages to make a Molotov cocktail with her supplies from the feast and kills Jyn with it.

Dragon Tear accidentally steps on a landmine. The sound carrying through the whole arena.

The most unpredictable tributes of the third Hunger Games have found each other as Adam II tends to Hiirs wounds. He doesn’t understand why Kakao chased her district partner away. Not seeing the crazy eyes.

Jyn (1) and Dragon Tear (7) appear on the night sky.

Adam II infections are getting worse. He can’t be saved. He knows it. The pain being nearly unbearable he begs for Hiir to kill him. Hiir obliges, not happy about it, but he doesn’t want to see Adam II suffer after being so nice to him.

That leaves only him and Kakao, who sits alone at her fire, hearing the canon and wondering who is left besides her.

How tragic that only the district 4 tributes are left. Do you think they were friends in their district back home?

Day 10

However, there is no epic fight. Hiir, his wounds being just as infected as Adam’s dies slowly and painfully. Leaving Kaakaokeeksi as the winner of the third hunger games!

Seriously how come the worst/ most complicated name of them all has to win the games?! Also do you want to know how many times I wrote Corring instead of Corrin?! Like all the time XD and I don't even know why ^^

This one is a little bit later than I planned... Mainly I just forgot XD Here you go guys hope you enjoy :D

Hunger Games 4

And here we are, ladies and gentlemen to the third round of The Hunger Games! Are you excited? Well we certainly are! The pool of tributes looks promising.

First up we have Adam the second. Named after the great founder of the nation, we expect a lot from this boy. He is calm and intelligent. Hopefully his soft heart won’t get in the way!

His district partner seems to be the opposite.

Meana certainly looks great.

She can’t hunt, she can’t fight and she doesn’t seem to want to but the blind girl from a few games ago got pretty far, so maybe she will to.

Talking about looks district 7 is definitely up there. Starting with the male tribute Daze. He is very impressed by himself and he isn’t shy to tell anyone about it. If you want it or not he will tell you and if you don’t like it he will punch you.

And the fourth hunger games are upon us. We have a pretty interesting tribute mix this time. Let’s see who will end up as a winner. The countdown ends and tributes start running in all directions.

Flower, Ryuk, Yellowjacket, Blizzardstar, Roku, Buttercup, Vampyr, Plumstar, Dragon Tear and Cherry immediately run away from the cornucopia.

Hollow is the first to reach the golden horn and grabs a trident. No one dares to come close to him with that weapon at hand.

Hiir, Lily, Daze and Kinarri gather supplies together before fleeing into the depths of the arena. Staying together as they do so.

Shadowfrost only grabs a canteen full of water before hastily stumbling away. The same goes for Jyn.

Annini and Aqualina fight shortly. Aqualina is killed when Annini tears the mace from her hand and smashes her head in with it.

Hawk runs away with a lighter and some rope. Corrin gets of better with a shield. Kakao gets a first aid kit, that could definitely come in handy.

Meana is so far the best armed with a sword in hand. However, she and Annini don’t attack each other. Instead forming an alliance to hunt down some tributes. They gather some supplies and set out into the arena.

The day progresses with many of the tributes still alive and scrambling for food and or water.

Dragon Tear gathers some berries while Flower watches her from the bushes, very well camouflaged. She hopes to find some edible plants by watching the other tribute.

Hiir, Lily, Daze and Kinarri are still together. Relatively well supplied. They try to avoid the other tributes, as Daze was wounded already when they stumbled upon Hawk and Plumstar who tried to kill them. Only the number advantage kept them alive.

When Blizzardstar shows up and offers to help them tend to their wounds they let her stay. The don’t want to die from infection.

Hollow receives some fresh water. Meana an explosive. Her and Annini grin at each other. That will definitely come in handy. Seeing the well-armed females Vampyr knows better than to try and approach them. Quickly fleeing into the fields surrounding the arena.

Kakao just tries to sleep through the entire day, risky with so many tributes still alive.

Corrin picks some flowers to calm her nerves. Yellowjacket has the same idea and the two girls start making flower crowns and telling jokes to each other.

Cherry, all alone, manages to steal a bow and arrows from the now unguarded cornucopia and practices her archery. She would rather not be involved in hand to hand combat.

Roku and Adam II explore the arena. Alone though.

Buttercup has found bow and arrow too and does some practicing.

Jyn goes hunting. She has water, now she only needs some food.

Ryuk, with nothing on him, starts to stalk Shadowfrost, who has at least some fresh water. Ryuk is not prepared to let the other tribute get away. Shortly before nightfall he attacks. Shadowfrost doesn’t stand a chance.

Aqualina (11) and Shadowfrost (11) show up in the night sky. With that District 11 is out of the picture already.

After his kill and with some fresh water on him Ryuk climbs a tree to rest.

Blizzardstar, Lily, Daze, Kinarri and Hiir are still together. They dare not to light a fire but tell each other ghost stories in the dark night. Giving it some extra effect.

Flower finally dares to come out of her hiding place and meets up with Hollow. He has no desire to kill her and the two discuss the games and what might happen in the morning. Wondering if there will be a feast already.

Adam II has finished the exploring and finds Cherry and Vampyr chilling out in a clearing. They tell stories to each other.

Buttercup and Corrin have found each other as well. It is easy for them to trust each other considering they are from the same district.

Annini and Meana team up with Roku and Hawk to add some strength to their group. Dragon Tear quickly hides in a tree when the pack roams below her.

Plumstar and Kakao have found each other and tell stories about themselves. Quickly bonding, when they realize the similarities of a tough warrior life.

Yellowjacket, alone somewhere out in the arena thinks about winning.

Day 2

A big explosion disrupts the morning silence. Blizzardstar ran away in blind panic when Buttercup and Corrin came after her and triggers an explosion. Killing Buttercup and Corrin immediately. Hiir is caught in the blast and stabbed by a tree branch while Adam II is crushed by a tree which fell due to the explosive.

Seeing four dead because of her, though the explosive was from Meana and Annini, Blizzardstar runs away in horror. Not coming back to the group of Daze, Lily and Kinarri, which now mourn their fallen tribute.

Vampyr and Cherry quickly get out of there as well. Not sure if the explosion would lure the pack of Meana, Annini, Hawk and Roku closer. Cherry lends Vampyr her bow so that he can practice as well. Meanwhile Cherry heads of to steal from Kakao. However, the other female notices her and just when Cherry thinks this is it Jyn jumps in and saves her life. She even stays to treat Cherry’s wounds before leaving again. Not yet ready for an alliance.

Yellowjacket has stolen a trident from the cornucopia and tries to spearfish.

Seeing the success of Meana’s first explosive, the sponsors send her another one. The same goes for Roku. The pack sets out immediately to bury the explosives.

Ryuk receives fresh food from a sponsor. Hollow and Flower are still together when Kakao and Plumstar are suddenly after them. They run away quickly but the two warriors are in hot pursuit. Dragon Tear noticing the chase quickly hides in some bushes.

Four names show up on the night sky.

Corrin (2)

Buttercup (2)

Hiir (4)

Adam II (1)

Jyn, looking at the night sky, is saddened by the death of her district partner.

In the night Plumstar and Kakao have finally chased down Hollow and Flower and kill the exhausted tributes without hesitation. Not even the fact that Hollow has a trident helped  him much in the end.

Meana, Annini, Hawk and Roku start getting restless. They still haven’t claimed a kill for them. So they decide to stay awake for the night and keep on hunting.

Lily, Daze and Kinarri are still together, as Lily receives clean water from a sponsor the small group laughs and cheers.

Plumstar and Kakao aren’t finished yet though. Wandering away from their two kills they find Cherry and Vampyr. Seeing the two bloody tributes Vampyr bails immediately. Leaving Cherry to be stabbed by Plumstar. Vampyr flinches when he hears the canon but he knows he couldn’t have beaten Plumstar and Kakao.

Yellowjacket receives a hatches from a sponsor. So she can at least defend herself when things go south.

Dragon Tear is still alone, hiding, shivering, just hoping that no one will find her.

Blizzardstar is alone as well. She has recovered a little from her explosive kill and settles down for the night.

Ryuk sleeps alone.

Day 3

Meana, Annini, Hawk and Roku are still on the move but lucky for the little group of Daze, Lily and Kinarri they can be heard talking and the smaller group quickly moves in the other direction.

After the exhausting night Plumstar and Kakao try to sleep through the entire day and with the lack of canons that plan works pretty well.

Ryuk, Yellowjacket and Blizzardstar stumble upon each other, deciding to work together for the day and doing some fishing.

Vamypr, all alone now, goes hunting. He meets Jyn. They talk for a second. Dragon Tear hears them but doesn’t dare to go closer. The two tributes split again. No one trusting the other enough for an alliance.

Night comes and with it the fallen.

Cherry (6)

Hollow (9)

Flower (10)

The pack has finally found their prey. Meana, Annini, Hawk and Roku have stumbled upon Lily, Kinarri and Daze. They fight is short but bloody. Everybody from the small alliance dying expect Daze. He manages to stumble away. Bleeding heavily. The pack lets him go for now.

Dragon Tear hugs herself as she hears the canons.

Yellowjacket, Blizzardstar and Ryuk, still together, decide to sleep in shifts, in case the pack comes for them.

Jyn finds Dragon Tear and holds hands with her. She trusts the other female, who doesn’t seem like she would attack needlessly.

Plumstar and Kakao, being rested from their calm day, keep going, trying to find some tributes.

Vampyr is still alone. He regrets leaving Cherry behind, even though he tries to tell himself that he didn’t have a choice.

Dead: Lily, Kinarri

Day 4

The morning comes and Meana, Annini, Hawk and Roku keep hunting for Daze. Towards midday they take a small break and Annini is pricked by thorns while picking some berries. The wounds turn green immediately. The pack is unnerved but keeps going. Daze hides beside the riverbank, trying some fishing, his wounds still fresh but they stopped bleeding.

Plumstar and Kakao rest by the riverside to. Filling up some supplies they decide to wander towards the cornucopia.

Dragon Tears trips and sprains her ankle. Jyn helps her up and they hide away.

Blizzardstar receives an explosive from a sponsor and nearly throws up. Yellowjacket and Ryuk want to use it. Blizzardstar runs away immediately, leaving the other two, to their sick plan.

Vampyr just stays out of most of it and doesn’t intend to change that anytime soon.

The night comes with it faces in the sky.

Lily (9) and Kinarri (8).

Daze is sad to see his friends up in the sky. When he stumbles upon a rather panicked Blizzardstar he calms her down and the two snuggle up next to each other.

Dragon Tear receives medical supplies and she and Jyn treat her sprained ankle. They are surprised that they got supplies but are grateful nonetheless.

Annini receives medical supplies as well and not a second too late. The poison from the thorns nearly killing her. Meana applies the medicine and the pack rests for the night. Hawk and Roku offer to guard the girls.

A thunderous sound can be heard. Yellowjacket and Ryuk have blown up Plumstar and Kakao. Snickering to themselves. Blizzardstar cries out upon hearing the sound and huddles even closer to Daze.

Day 5

In the morning of the fifth day the pack is up early and they find a lot of prey. The first to fall to their blades is Vampyr, who barely even put up a fight. His conscience finally getting to him.

He is killed by Meana. Daze and Blizzardstar are nearby and Blizzardstar is killed by an arrow from Annini. Hawk and Roku don’t bother to hunt down Daze expecting him to succumb to his wounds soon enough.

Daze does die but not to his wounds. He stumbles upon Jyn and Dragon Tear and tries to steal their medical supplies. Jyn having none of it, strangles him with a rope.

Yellowjacket and Ryuk start travelling to higher ground. Thinking about setting up some traps for the pack.

The night comes.

Plumstar (3)

Kakao (4)

Vampyr (12)

Daze (7)

Blizzardstar (3)

That leaves only the pack: Meana, Annini, Hawk and Roku and the outliers Yellowjacket, Ryuk, Dragon Tear and Jyn alive.

The pack, being on a kill spree doesn’t intend to rest and instead follows Yellowjacket and Ryuk up the mountain. The two tributes didn’t have time though to set up any traps and when they find themselves cornered the pack gives them the option to kill each other and the one who lives may join them. Ryuk kills Yellowjacket in a desperate attempt to save his life but the pack never intended to let him live.

Surprisingly enough Ryuk manages to kill Roku before being slain by Hawk.

Growling because they lost one of their own, the pack travels down the mountain again and meet Dragon Tear and Jyn. Meana dies in the rather brutal fight and Hawk and Annini retreat for now.

Day 6

Dragon Tear and Jyn are hiding out in the forest. Only four tributes left. They aren’t quite sure what to do but when Dragon Tear receives a hatchet from an unknown sponsor and after they have treated their wounds, they know what they have to do. They have to confront the remnants of the pack.

Meanwhile Annini and Hawk have decided that it is best to hide in the mountains, copying Ryuk’s and Yellowjacket’s plan they travel up high again.

In the night four faces are up in the sky.

Meana (5)

Roku (5)

Ryuk (6)

Yellowjacket (12)

Dragon Tear and Jyn are still in preparation for the fight with Hawk and Annini when they receive fresh food. They gladly eat it and start to travel upwards.

Annini has received explosives from a sponsor. Hawk seeing his chance quickly breaks her neck and buries the explosives in a gorge. Then he starts to leave signs. So that Dragon Tear and Jyn will find him.

Day 7

Dragon Tear and Jyn find Hawk a little bit too fast and Hawk panics. Dragon Tear gives chase the explosion killing them both. Jyn only saves herself by jumping in the river, otherwise she would have been buried by an avalanche.

Jyn is the winner of the fourth hunger games !!!

That was fun to write. I started changing some of the events and stories to make it a bit more coherent. The winner is still determined by the random generator and the basic layout of the groups as well. Also when two groups or tributes met I used a random generator to decide who lived and who died. Do you like it this way more? I certainly do :D

I also have an extra round lying in wait. It is a POV story of one of my tributes. I basically randomized so often until one of them won. I’ll post it soon and then you can tell me if you prefer POV stories or the general ones J

Woah I missed the entry form for this! Where do I sign up for these? (And congrats, Jyn!)

That's still the old cast I used for round 3. Round 4 will be the same guys as well and depending on what you guys say to that (as I said first person POV) I might make more and put out another cast call.

Also I ship Kakao and Plumstar :D

Oops. I wasn’t really paying attention 😅

But yeah. I did see my old entries (Corrin and Buttercup) when I scrolled up and checked again. My apologies!

No problem. While writing my answer I was like 'didn't they submit people?' Not that I have a very good memory of such things XD

  • 3 weeks later...

Here we go for the extra round I wrote. It is from the point of view from my wonderful Plumstar. I wanted one of my tributes to win, so I used the random gen so long until it gave me on of my winners. That's why it is called an extra round and is not an offical round. I hope you have fun reading it and I would love to hear your opinion on this stile of writing :D

Hunger Games extra round

And here we are, ladies and gentlemen to the third round of The Hunger Games! Are you excited? Well we certainly are! The pool of tributes looks promising.

First up we have Adam the second. Named after the great founder of the nation, we expect a lot from this boy. He is calm and intelligent. Hopefully his soft heart won’t get in the way!

His district partner seems to be the opposite.

Meana certainly looks great.

We are launched out in the arena and my heart stops for a second. Now it is real. Now it is time. Time to prove that I am indeed the most determined Nicheling out there. Time to prove that despite my constant sickness I am still a great warrior to be feared.

Quickly I examine my surroundings.  The countdown thunders out over a huge, wonderfully green meadow surrounding us. The meadow is surrounded on all sides by a large forest as far as the eye can see. No immediate water source anywhere.

I gulp. Unsure whether to run or stay and fight at the cornucopia. I should probably run. The opening minutes aren’t called bloodbath for nothing.

Letting my gaze wander I find Blizzardstar. She looks at me wide eyed. Panic clear in her gaze. I try to tell her that everything will be fine. I don’t think she understood. She looks at the ground and steps of her podium. Blowing up in countless pieces.

I flinch so hard that I almost fall of too. Why would she do that?! Staring in horror I miss the end of the countdown only being torn out of it when the tribute next to me, Dragon Tear, runs off towards the forest.

Quickly coming back to myself I jump of and run away as well. I know staying now, after missing the crucial first seconds would be death. But I can’t help and stop at the top of a hill surrounding the cornucopia to look back. A lot of tributes are out in the meadow running away. The ones I spot at the cornucopia are Hawk, who had just killed Annini. Adam II who is looting like a madman. Buttercup arming himself, same goes for Shadowfrost, though he is so far on the outskirts that he only ends up with a shovel and a group of four fighting.

I can make out Vampyr’s black and Cherry’s red fur, squabbling with a small figure which must be Aqualina and the easy to recognize digging trunk of Ryuk. Only Vampyr and Cherry come out of the fight alive.

Before anything else can go down I run away. Better not to give myself anymore nightmare fuel. That is really the last thing I need after what Blizzardstar did. I still can’t believe it. I expected her to be braver and yet can I really blame her? The Hunger Games are horrible.

I don’t know for how long I run but at one point my legs give under me and I lay panting on the leaves covering the ground. My breath coming ragged and short. Hard coughs making it even harder. For a second I think my sickness is finally going to kill me but it doesn’t and I would refuse to let that happen anyway. Slowly my breath returns and I can get up again, looking around. I am deep in the forest. I have no idea how far away from the cornucopia I am but I know I have to find a water source, best without being killed by another tribute on the way. I can hold my own in a fight but if somebody has a weapon more dangerous than a spade, then I know I am in trouble.

Carefully I start to move on. Looking at the moss on the trees and testing the humidity of the ground to maybe get a hint of a water source but to no avail. I wonder if the only water is at the cornucopia to make these games quick. I hope not.

The forest around me is mostly quiet as I move on. At one point I can hear Cherry talking to somebody but I don’t get closer. Not after seeing her fight at the cornucopia. Instead I keep moving the way the moss suggests. Suddenly a small tingling sound can be heard and a small sponsor parachute lands in front of my feet. Surprised I look around. Why would I have a sponsor? Why would anybody care for a nobody from district 3? What had I done so far to deserve a sponsor? Exactly nothing. Still you don’t throw away gifts. Hastily I open the parachute to find fresh water inside.

“Thank you”, I whisper, holding the bottle close to my chest, “thank you so much”. And I drink. I know it won’t last long but it’ll keep me going for a while longer at least. With new energy and determination rising inside me I keep walking. Better to get as far away from anybody as possible.

As dusk comes I really don’t want to look up at the night sky but I can’t help myself. By itself my gaze wanders upwards towards the pictures in the sky.

Annini district 8, Ryuk district 6, Aqualina district 11, Blizzardstar district 3 and Yellowjacket District 12. That leaves 19 tributes still alive, including myself. Hard competition but I can do it. I became leader once, I proved myself before. I can prove myself again.

With that thought in my mind I set out to find shelter for the night. The cold already creeping into my thick black fur. Bushes rustle and Roku jumps out into the path, staring at me startled.

Equally startled I return his gaze. No one dares to move for a solid minute until Roku says, “how about we team up?”

“Sure why not”, I say.

Roku shares some of his supplies with me. I wonder why he would want me by his side but I pay no further attention to it. If he wanted me dead, he would have done so.

“Where did you get all this food from?”, I ask in surprise when we finally settle beneath some tree roots.

“A sponsor”.

“Cool, I got some water”.

“Nice. I have no idea why anybody would give me anything but I guess I must have done something right”.

“Same”, I say.

We fall into silence and before I can say anything else steps can be heard. Shadowfrost bursts out of the undergrowth a big, crabbit mutt behind him.

“Holy shit!”, Roku screams and leaps to the side.

Roaring I leap past my fellow tribute and onto the crabbit mutt. Shadowfrost seeing that there are suddenly Nichelings to help, turns around and starts beating the crap out of the crabbit with his spade.

After a second Roku joins into the fight. With the three of us we manage to defeat the horrible mutt.

Panting Shadowfrosts nods, “thank you very much. That thing would have killed me for sure”.

“Where did it even come from?!”, Roku asks shaking a little.

“A river, higher up”, Shadowfrost said, “I was so happy to find fresh water that I paid no mind to my surroundings though I guess we have some food now”.

Roku screws his nose, “I’d rather not eat that”.

“Beggars can’t be choosers”, I say and tear some of the meat off.

Shadowfrost nods and the rest of the night we feast on the crabbit meat and cheerfully sing together. Anything to distract from the horrors around us.

Shadowfrost tells us that he hasn’t seen a big pack forming yet but that Meana and Flower are working together.

“Not sure what those two could do though”, he says.

“Never underestimate an enemy”, I say and nod towards the crabbit, “you should have learned that by now”.

He has the decency to look ashamed.

At one point we manage to fall asleep. No canons are disrupting the night anymore.

Day 2

The next morning Shadowfrost, Roku and I decide to stay together. Shadowfrost starts leading us back the way he came. We need the water and the three of us can probably beat a crabbit mutt again. We have also packed up some of the meat. The mutt in itself too big to eat in one night. Maybe another tribute will find it and feast.

We haven’t gotten far when an arrow suddenly whizzes past. “Down!” I shout and we fling ourselves to the ground.

A canon fires and I look around wildly. Shadowfrost and Roku are still with me but Buttercup falls out of the bushes dead. My eyes quickly find the shooter. Meana sits on a tree grinning. Growling I get back up and start climbing the tree. I won’t let her get away.

Her eyes get wide with a sudden burst of fear and she scrambles away. Not that I will let her.

Meana tries to escape to another tree but misses the jump and falls to the forest floor. I wasn’t even half way up the trunk. Shadowfrost and Roku rush to Meana’s side. Suddenly I remember that Roku and Meana are district partners.

Quickly I jump down and join the two. Meana is still alive but badly hurt. “We should put her out of her misery”, I say.

“No!”, Roku protests.

“We can’t help her anymore. I have seen internal bleeding before. Not a quick way to die!”

Roku swallows hard and looks away, “alright do it”.

Meana is already too far gone to say anything. Carefully and respectfully I take her bow and arrow and stab her with one of them. The canon fires. Silent, I close her eyes. “May StarClan light your path”, I say.

“What?” Shadowfrost says. I am surprised that he doesn’t know StarClan. With his name I had considered him a warrior.

“You do not know of StarClan?”

Shadowfrost shakes his head.

“Well it doesn’t really matter. Come on let’s continue”, and we do though I can’t shake the feeling that we are being followed. At one point I think I might have seen the tan pelt of Flower but I can’t be sure.

We have just arrived at the waterside and filled up our water bottles when a red ball of fur, faster than lightning, shoots out from the undergrowth. Cherry hurls herself at Roku and together they fall into the river.

“Roku!” I shout but my shout is lost in the sound of a canon firing and seconds later a second canon goes off.

Shadowfrost and I stare in shocked silence at the river. No blood can be seen. No bodies can be seen.

“What was she thinking?” Shadowfrost whispers.

“I don’t think she was thinking anything”, I say a feeling of loss churning in my belly. I had only known Roku for one night but still. He had been an ally.

“Come on let’s get away from here”, I say. I really don’t want to stay anywhere near here. Not with Meanas corpse not far behind.

Shadowfrost agrees and we quickly vanish into the forest once more.

The day didn’t want to get any better though. A loud gong disrupts the happy bird sounds around us. Shadowfrost and I look around. “What is going on?”, Shadowfrost asks panic already rising in his voice.

“I don’t know but it can’t be good” I say my fur rising. Suddenly Hiir shoots past us running faster than I have ever seen a Nicheling run.

Shadowfrost and I stare after him in awe until I see what he had been running from. The walls of the arena were contracting. Fast.

“Holy shit!”, Shadowfrost shouts and we start pelting after Hiir. Just wanting to get away as fast as possible. Nobody is thinking about killing or so I thought until Flower throws herself at me. Growling I roll away, pushing her off me using her own force. She flies directly into the border wall coming closer with every second.

Shadowfrost quickly drags me up on my feet and we keep running. At one point Shadowfrost trips. I try to drag him to his feet but one of his paws is stuck, “go” he says.

I shook my head, “I won’t leave you”.

“You can’t help me! Go and should you join me one day you tell me everything about StarClan”.

“You would have been a fine warrior” I say, my heart tearing into two, turning around and running away. I don’t know when the border stopped chasing me. I don’t know how many canons went off in the night but I know that I couldn’t believe that I had lost all my allies in one day. Fury and guilt are fighting in my belly. I want to kill someone. Someone that is responsible for the death of an ally but I can’t. There is no one left.

When evening comes the list of dead tributes is seemingly endless.

Meana 5, Daze 7, Buttercup 2, Roku 5, Adam II 1, Dragon Tear 7, Hawk 10, Flower 10, Shadowfrost 11, Kaakaokeksi 4, Hollow 9, Kinarri 8, Cherry 6.

With a start I realize that only 6 tributes are left, including myself. Hastily I try to remember everybody left. Vampyr, definitely, he is distinctive enough that I can remember him easily.

I don’t know who the others are though. I mean I know their districts. The girl from one, the girl from two, the boy from 4 and the girl from 9. I sigh quietly. I don’t feel like sleeping. I know only nightmares will await me. So if I can’t sleep I might as well try to find somebody else. I don’t want to say to kill but with only 5 others left that is the only thing left to do.

It doesn’t take long until I stumble upon the boy from four. I can remember his name now. Hiir. He is asleep. My heart aches. I really don’t want to kill him but leaving him alive would be stupid. Still armed with the bow and arrow from Meana. I quickly end his life. It feels like a piece of my heart is torn out. Another part of myself lost for ever. The canon sounds and I quickly grab Hiir’s supplies before running off. Only four left.

Day 3

Day three, I can’t believe it is already day 3, starts with a feast. The gamemakers seem to want to make these games quick. An arena event and a feast in quick succession? Soon we will know who the winner will be. I would like to say it will be me but I was never arrogant. Only ever determined.

With not very much to lose I decide to go to the feast. I encounter no one on the way but when I reach it I come upon the girl from 2. We fight short and brutal. She might be fierce but small. She can’t match my strength. As with Meana and Hiir I close her eyes after the canon sounds and look around.

Only three left. My heart is heavy. I have killed four people directly so far. Three in cold blood. I can’t believe it. A warrior wouldn’t have done it and yet I couldn’t do anything else to survive. I feel sick but I know there is still work left undone.

I stay at the cornucopia for a while longer. Maybe someone will show up at one point? Sure enough Vampyr comes close to Nightfall, but not close enough for the anthem to play. Hidden behind some tables the other Nicheling doesn’t notice me until it is too late and I sink my new knife in his throat. Watching the light die from his eyes makes me throw up, though I manage not to throw up on his body.

Only two left. I leave the cornucopia and sit by a nearby stream, thinking about what happened and wondering how I could possibly find the other two tributes. I remember their names now Jyn and Lily.

An explosion shakes the ground, followed by the sound of a canon. I look up. Only one left. I can do it. I am the most determined one. Nothing has ever been able to stop me. I can do it.

I force myself on my feet again. Watching the anthem for a moment before setting off after Lily because Jyn’s face was up in the sky. Followed by Corrin 2 and Vampyr from district 12.

I don’t know how anybody can ever come out of the arena and be proud of themselves. I certainly won’t. I have no idea how I will even be able to face my family back home. I probably won’t be able to. I am a murderer. There is no other thing. And the most disgusting thing is people will worship me for what I have accomplished in the arena. That makes me almost as sick as killing Vampyr.

Day 4

Most of the next day I spend looking for Lily but she manages to avoid me which is irritating. If this keeps going on the gamemakers will make one of us die and I don’t want it to be me.

The night is equally quiet. Just a sponsor parachute arrives, bringing me a hatchet. I’d rather not use it. It is a messy weapon.

Day 5

I decide this is the day. This is the day where I will finally find Lily and put an end to this. This is the day where I will either die and join Shadowfrost to tell him about StarClan or this is the day where I have finally proven myself one more time. Maybe this time it will bring me peace.

In the end, night has already fallen, I find Lily at the cornucopia. It seems that she had the same idea as me. Running won’t solve anything at this point. She knows it. I know it. She has armed herself with a sword and shield. I draw my knife. This could get interesting.

Lily attacks fast and brutal. I barely manage to dodge her attack, staggering backwards. She thinks I am beaten. Leaping on top of me, completely forgetting her defence. The knife finds her heart before she has even landed. Blood splatters all across my face. I don’t even feel sick anymore, only numb.

I shove her dead body off me and stand in the arena for a moment. Silent. Then I look up at the stars, “I did it, Shadowfrost. I guess the story about StarClan has to wait some more”, it seems as if one star sparkled a little brighter and my heart got just a little lighter.

I had won The Hunger Games. I swore to myself to tell Shadowfrost’s family about StarClan and I did. I would never forget him or Roku. My allies. My very short time friends.

And here we go. I really like how I could more characterization and drama into this one. This was a lot of fun :D
