How to get home island immunity

Hi people,

Is there any way to get home island immunity when you lost it at some point in story mode?

I learned just now that it is important, and I am at over 100 generations already. Have been through a few islands already and developed cute fishy nichelings, so I do not want to start over.

if you lost home island immunity gene on the island you are on right now, you can force your tribe to go extinct and then restarting with the same bloodline will get you nichelings that look like the nichelings you have but one of them will be forced to have home island immunity.

 

if you lost home island immunity a few islands ago, then you may as well start over. I think theres a way to use cheat codes to give nichelings home island immunity, but its very buggy and I dont even know if it can trigger the "good ending"

You can give them home island immunity with console commands nearly bug free. The aging bug still applies, but it will give you the good ending. Should it not, there is a command that will fix it. Either way, you still can get the good ending with F1 and the setgene cheat.

There's some proof: 

Random awful starters (half blind and only one horn gene)

Hit F1, blue box appears. Enter "setgene immunityGeneFamily", hit enter. The starting male now has two home island genes and will be sick.

Enter "setgene ImmunityGeneFamily ImmunityGeneC" to fix it.

As you can see, his head is now too big. He will also age a lot faster and die quickly. Exit the game and reload it and he will be back to normal, but with your chosen genes.

Bring animals to home island: 

(I didn't exit the game). Adam's family will accept your nichelings.

For me you have to exit the game. 

1. Use the console

2. Exit IMMEDIATELY, don't make any moves or you could get some bad bugs!

3. Come back and keep playing like normal.

One more question: Will the currently selected creature get the immunity? Or is it random? I have like 20 nichelings...

its the currently selected nicheling

So yes, do it to multiple nichelings if you want to ensure that HII gets passed on

I did it on my favorite baby, and when he is grown up I will breed him like mad.... statistics will ensure that it gets passed on (I hope).

Not that I know of.

Also, after struggling through a jungle and almost getting wiped on poison, my pack finally arrived on an island of islands, where their fishiness will be really useful!

There are two commands to get nichelings to spawn. Search for "spawn" in the console. Hit either one often enough and one member may spawn every five days. However, they will have some different genes. In my case: swimming paw + runner leg, no paw + runner leg. They often came from the shore.

Also, in 2/3 saves, the males now have recessive scorpion tail (50%) or peacock tail (10%). Rarer still, a different recessive eyecolour. Beware, it alters the game permanently.

I use the command "IncreaseSpawn PlayerAnimal". It will spawn regular wanderers as well.

Huh. I went with the other, adam's family only. You'd think it was the other way around.

NPC you mean? Maybe it means just Adam's family. 

I only used PlayerAnimal and got a red derp snout without HII on Home Island

i asked in my island of chaos idea thread thing and nobody told me it affected anything outside of the save file

That's what I thought until I got stuck with it. It's only on some files though and not in others, which frankly makes no sense whatsoever. I'd have to see if it's fixed by now, but it's rare enough to not mess your game up even if you hit it for a while. Spawning HI Adam's outside of it hasn't done anything before, either. But the potential's here if you use commands a lot.
