Micha
A Sensor that detects if enemies are near. It should have a setting to set the angle of cone between 0° and 360°. It could be used for automatic turrets instead of the normal distance sensors.
0 Micha
We now have the proximity sensor in the new racing update that does exactly this
0 Fire209
Maybe something like the gravity sensor, if it is in a cone of a certain range, it will follow it, and output a certain signal if it is within the zone, and to the left or right of the zone
0 64-bit_dragon
It's a good idea, although you can, kind of, do that already. I know it's a shameless ad, but I showed it in my latest video. The way I did is pretty hard to explain through text.

0 64-bit_dragon
I don't think it's the correct thing to do though. Maybe later on, but in the beginning, I will just keep it to text.
0 Philo
@64-bit_dragon Ok as it works best for you Just wanted to let you know that it's totally ok to post your videos in the forum. You can even open a specific thread for them if you like ^^
0 Spacemike
This would be very useful! and, if something like logic lines get added in maybe they could have the option to output an array containing distance and angle (relative to the center of the planet at the current position) to the target! You could then feed the angle into a turret's angle input and have a simple logic gate that has the turret fire when it gets within a certain distance!
0 MARO445
It is the same that the laser sensor, but it works on an circular aera, not in a line.

0 STM
The smaller the cone gets the farther the maximum range should be. So a cone of 0° will be the same as the distance-sensor we already have and a 360° about 25% of that range A projectile-setting could be nice to have. A snek-detection-setting so autonomous drones can avoid it.

In fact, I'd prefer it to be additional options to the current detector we have, rather than a new sensor, since in this layout it can mimic the detector's behavior.
