wikipedia [he/him] Posted October 6, 2019 Author Posted October 6, 2019 The planet Rárirish is an earthen sized planet, and one that crossed through what could be assumed as a white hole- other sapient species have considered the thought that this means the species upon this planet have crossed through a different universe, however this is not a proven fact and is currently simply a theory. The planet is geologically active, but continents move slower than that on most other planets- the species upon the planet have adapted for this, and the thick atmosphere means that flying is a more useful and less energy wasting process. Additionally, the planet undergoes extreme seasonal variation, due to the elliptical orbit and axial tilt of 34. On average, night occurs at 9 pm and day occurs at 4 am when close to the star; when far away, night is constant, with the sun barely peaking up over the horizon.
wikipedia [he/him] Posted October 6, 2019 Author Posted October 6, 2019 The sapient species of Rárirish have a strange ability to exhale a mild hallucinogenic- this is simply made through their process of respiration, similar to how humans on Earth exhale carbon dioxide as a by-product. They tend to use this to their advantage, however, as the hallucinogenic tends to make other species see them as one of their own, and this is especially prominent to humans. The Rivu are also prone to pigmentation mutations that effect terran animals, such as piebaldism, albisnism, ect. In their 'true' form, the Rivu are semi-bipedal, equally as comfortable on four legs as two, even though their front arms, alike to humans, are shorter than their legs. They have an additional pair of cartilage-formed wings, of which appear almost bat-like, but the 'fingers' can close to make the wings narrower for diving into the water. They also have what appear to be shark-like teeth, which humans see as simply sharper teeth than normal. In their enviroment, they are purely predators and can only eat meat. Their eyes are set forwards, and have bioluminescent patches under their eyes, which glow in a deep magenta colour as a warning and green to hide themselves to their prey- the eyes themselves occur in all natural colours, and have a transparent nicitating membrane to protect them as they dive. The pupils themselves are sub-circular, similar to medium sized felines, alike to the lynx- this is due to the polyphastic sleep and the need for a combination of both focus and less blur.
