Renio2490 Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 How do I make Niche faster? I can barely play without getting annoyed that it's take 15 clicks before I select the Nicheling. All I did was switch to a different version, then switch back to TesterBranch. 1
bostonlobstah Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Maybe set the graphics lower? Obviously not experienced in any way but usually that can lessen the lagging. 1
Sky Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 You've probably tried it already, but if not, close Niche and open it again. If that doesn't/didn't work, try switching back to another version, then to tester Branch. and if THAT doesn't work, restart your computer. 1 1
Renio2490 Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 I've closed and opened Niche many times, switched the versions, and I'll try and restart my laptop. 1
Guest SilverTheNicheling Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Man I can almost relate to this as well... but I don’t think my laptop can run the tester branch at all.. it just crashes everytime I load up a new Sandbox game with the edited settings. Edit: and to add a note here.. the current OS is Windows 7(I didn’t decide to upgrade to 10 and I probably never will for reasons...)with barely any enough ram I think to run some Steam games, and Niche at good quality, just wanted to add some more quick info here.
VankirvanJD Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 When you switched versions did the save files you have for 1.7.1 save? 1
Renio2490 Posted March 29, 2019 Author Posted March 29, 2019 Yes. But that's depending on what you mean by that. The old versions only had 3 slots for saves and I had one free so I could play the old versions. So I could only see two saves. 1
Jojo Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Apart from the graphics. Make sure that you don't have anything else running in the background like an interent browser or something. That takes up space the game might need. In addition to that you could try activating game mode for Niche if you have windows 10 (if you don't you could probably get another program that does that but I never tried that myself) 1
georgie Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 you could turn down the pattern textures specifically? that usually seems to help 1
georgie Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Just now, Renio2490 said: To ultra low? just try turning it down until it runs faster I guess 1
Renio2490 Posted March 30, 2019 Author Posted March 30, 2019 I've had my browser in the background when I play Niche, and it seemed to work fine. I think it was switching the version?
pebbleheart Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 my computer has to make me set the game to the lowest of lows to load a game, but then as soon as i get in i change it back to what i normally play at 1
